I haven't face yet a single priest. The class was already non existent during RoS, I was hoping that Team 5 would release something good for them, instead the quest takes ages to complete and the reward is meh. I think that the only viable deck is ameth OTK, but that is just an old inner fire, a combo that exist since forever, and I'm not interested at all in trying it out (also is boring af).
Also, they nerfed Raza in order to not make wild too oppressive, yet we have Barnes untouched since forever, and I believe big priest is way more cancerous.
They didn't nerf Raza for the sake of Wild. They nerfed it to get it out of Standard. It was absurdly OP. People didn't want to wait even one more month to get rid of it.
I faced one quest priest today he manage to finish quest at turn 5 and got an 15/15 zilliax at turn 7 I was playing highlander hunter lost the game because I didn't have an answer.
I have finished the priest quest on turn 4. It definitely does not take ages when everything lines up. Priest isn’t tier 1 by any means but they now have some tools to be competitive
The quest is weird, you get the right cards and finish very quickly and get a lot of tempo after but sometimes the game is almost in fatigue when you finally put that thing to work, it is not reliable, don't have a hero card like warrior or crazy turns like mage.
Priest don't have nothing to fight except a slow ressurect mechanic that works sometimes but far from be competitive like in Wild.
Blizz seems to be building a base for a aggro priest, but to be honest, i don't know if even that is going to save the class on standard, but let's have some hope :)

Not likely to happen since it would need drawing stuff, but they avoid creating cards with drawing capability for priest since they claim that it is not compatible with Priest's class identity....
So, priest is doomed to control decks (aka, resurrect bulshitl)...
At least they could add more support for Shadow sub-archetype, which could move it away from control decks...
Well to quote blizzard "Mind Blast gives Priests the ability to inflict a large amount of direct Face damage. We want to limit the amount of damage that Priests are able to deal from their hand, which will allow us to make cards that better emphasize their strengths in controlling the game." With that mentality shadow is doomed because it would require Priests to deal damage from hand and they feel controlling the game as a priest is better.
Oh and lets not forget: Priest: Priests balance holy light and shadow magic to defeat their opponents. They control a battle’s outcome using powerful spells with situational applications. While not the most aggressive, they are able to generate, copy, and use combinations of cards to create a powerful army.
So - again they hold to the idea of control and combos with little aggro.
I still get the feeling they have no idea what to do with class identities and priest is just the punching bag at this point.

Un-nerf Raza the Chained in Wild, and some of those Big Priests will drift off to another archetype other than Dragons.
Priest has not received any impactful cards. Is by far the class with less support to it's forte that should be focused on board control, wise use of powerful resources and strong turns with high mana. Ironically the most smorc oriented classes like hunter or shaman have now much more support for this kind of play. The cards gained with this expansion Just don't synergize with the Priest arsenal, It will take at least another set to have a viable Priest because in the last three, the class received just trash cards.
Well, on the first page of the Top 18 Standard decks Priest does in fact have two mentions. Mage also has two including the best deck. Paladin has one Murloc deck. And the other thirteen are Warrior. So that means five classes are completely shut out. And in case you were wondering, Warlock doesn't make an appearance in the list until number 59, Rogue sneaks in at number 80, and Druid finally shows up at number 83.

Is it not time to give priest some love?

Its time to delete this cancerous class from the game (wild player talking)

That was the best quest priest I have seen.

They're all wasting their time on quest priest and ignoring deathrattle priest
Meanwhile in Wild 1/3 of matches are against Priest. You can guess the deck archetype.
Give it time, Priest meta decks take a few months to show up.

>remove an entire class from the game because "wahhhhh I can't win"

Cute, ineffective, but cute.

/I miss the "Chansey" Priest deck

There are many of them on ladder, and they have decent success.
According to hsreplay priest has Tier1 deck setup.
Who cares about priest lol
its not only priest thats gone... i meet warrior 7 out of my last 8 games...
Combo priest (inner fire) is Tier 1 deck, highest win rate !
