The animations and turn transitions really need to be sped up. I understand why they are like that, Blizzard want to make it clear to newer players what is happening. But when you are experienced enough to know what is happening, the animations just feel SO slow. Speeding things up would make the game feel much tighter and more responsive.
Blizzard also really needs to look at ranked, imo. The endless grinding is just boring and, with such meager rewards, there is no real incentive.

From another casual player, I really don’t agree with these points.
Animations are what separates this game from the pack - I think they are a lot of fun. It’s a game to play to have fun for me, not for efficiency and getting as many games through as possible.
in regards to ranked rewards, I always felt a golden epic was a really good reward for something easily reached on a casual level. And actually, personally, I like that the legendary reward is not a big step up. It doesn’t feel mandatory to put in the effort.
There are definitely some improvement points as I have touched on before, but these are not it for me.
First of all, rude. Generalizing and without any proof or stats to prove. I can't deny that the playerbase has certaintly dropped, but if you wanna quit,it doesnt mean everybody does.
If you log on twitch, you can see many people who are literally playing the game and having fun. Also, what's up with naming the ''pros''? Kripp and amaz are mostly arena players (while everyone else is still a ladder player). Also i didnt see Thijs and Kibler. Thijs is probably one of the biggest pros that any of these are (biggest in fame right now) and the other one is both a caster and a great player at the game. And they both make daily HS content on youtube. Not to mention people like dog, Theo etc.
From the names mentioned, you've probably watch a lot of youtube. Should i mention that they play 6 hours a day (at least) and you get the best out of their twitch stream? Meaning you're not following the pro scene or even checking out twitch. That's fine, but telling publicly that you're following streamers when you're following youtubers,is kinda wrong in my opinion.
Last but not least, druid dead? Are you sure about that? I reached legend and im in the top 200 with druid. I wrote a whole guide how to deal with every match-up,and trust me,druid KILLS control right now. At least,if you know how to pilot the deck.
It just happened that Thijs streamed a few times playing togwaggle and re-popularized the deck. Even on my stream, people have seen me win matchups like hunter and even warlock, which are really hard for druid.
I dont disagree with you,but please, dont spread misinformation. The game will refresh itself in less than 2 months. Many stuff will rotate out and it'll create a whole new meta. Also, championships will change. That means, people like me (almost unknown) in the community have the chance to rise and create much more content and make the best out of the game.

You are trying to be positive. You still think this is primarily a strategy game. From your top 200 position I can see that you can handle mindlessness quite well. Good for you. You try to look into the void of mind numbing card design still looking for some light in a black hole.

Yes this is another one from teeth grinding positivists: looking to the future and hoping. The game wil refresh in two months! That has been said over and over again. Expansion after expansion, but things don't change. It is politics my friend. Politics of card design. Keep hoping for the best. Keep being disappointed. New meta, many stuff will rotate out....Do you really think things 1 month after rotation will be different as it is now? I don't think so sir. Just the same with other cards. In its core expansion don't change skill defying card design. Things just change superficially but in its core remain the same.
I am sorry to see your great expectations and teeth grinding positivity as a successful psychological outcome of Blizzards manipulative policies. Unfortunately the problem is not the game, the problem is with its card designers, fooling you with new cards....and you? ...happy like a playing child.
This is the same thing every end of an expansion, no one care of the game, just wait the new expansion. Then the announcement of the announcement shows up and the traffic start again.

Don't be a jerk. Of course things will change after rotation. I can think of one, maybe two established decks that won't be affected by the rotation.
And for those who wonder what mindlessness is, here's the definition: mindlessness is the ability to do damage out of hand.
The sheer amount of burn, buff, chargers, weapon, summon in the game is that unbalanced that mindlessness is the only top tier strategy to close games successfully.
People don't realize that a totally different legend player would occur if there were less mindlessness in the game. The type of legend players are just a reflection of cards being handled well.
I have been a following many streamers since I started playing HS 4 years ago, now more than ever I am seeing more of them having little to no HS content in their channels or uploading old content cause they stopped playing to name a few?
Trump, Kibler, Amaz,Firebat, and Savaj that left 3 months ago as well, wonder when Kripp is gonna start quitting HS as well.
apart from dailies I haven't been playing for a while either..here should be an announcement in 1.5 weeks about the new HS year if there isn't anything entirely new I guess I will just quit as well, I don't know why so many of us cope with this game for so long they keep it stale for too long the meta is solved too quickly and the new cards aren't played at all, as well as Blizzard destroying entire class identities cause they are too greedy to nerf their newer cards that ARE THE PROBLEM RIP druid... (never liked druid BTW)
Well.. Kibler is streaming HS every weekday. Many hours. - dno about the rest. But you have to remember its the end of a rotation, and they allready all hit Legend 1 i assume, so there is not much more to do after that. Im sure they are gonna stream alot again after they release new content.

Ok so he is Sir Happiness and you Sir Negativity. (Mind Blown/ on Sherlock Mode)
Feel sorry for you for playing such an unrewarding game We play for different reasons I hit legend once and just never did it again, why? cause it's not fun to grind for something so unrewarding, takes too much time, and there is very little merit since I will be reset back to rank 4 anyway, it was to 16 back then and it felt terrible.
Not saying Druid can't be competitive, if you have enough time or energy you can get anywhere, after the second batch of nerfs I guess you can play druid again, still such nerf feel bad cause the problem cards are definetly in KOFT yet they insisted on not nerfing UI or SP(again), or branching paths.
It's not the streamers leaving HS completely I only stated savaj as a leaver, the rest are starting to play a lot of dota autochess, it's a trend which might hopefully make them stop streaming hs, why hopefully you ask? so Blizzard do something with their game already.
A lot of people here claimed that I am making a baseless claim well I exaggerated with the title cause if the title isn't controvential there is no discussion, also I felt like this topic needs to be discussed this is a trend in the community ATM.There Omnislash broadcast discussing exactly this issue so I am not imagining stuff, also it's a follow up to the issue ayala pointed out on tweeter. I agree with hooghout on that you are way too optimistic.
They recently nerfed a few cards, do you see people trying new decks? no! cause of the close rotation it's best for the average standard player to wait, cause it's not worth crafting anything.
Ok, correct me if I am wrong , because I feel already stupid. What's the comparison between HS and Dota's Auto chess? They are completely different games as far as I can see.I am only asking because everyone is bringing up Auto chess, that it's killing HS.
Also people at some point are getting bored of HS and wait of a new expansion. Well guess, I am one of them. Yes, meta is stale now(but you can play like 15 decks in tier 1-2, whereas last January that I started HS, were only the half). Yes the previous expansions had lowered the powerlevel(which I agree with). Yes, I play less now and only Tess Espionage Rogue in constructive and Arena.Things need to change in the game of course, and I have stated my opinion on another post, so not doing it here again.
But wait, I have a beautiful Xbox One and a Smart tv and there are great games there to play!! So since I had some of my best gaming hours playing Witcher 3 and less HS , that means HS is dead, RIP HS.
I rest my case. Negativity will always prevail, and not for the sake of pushing things forward and for constructive dialogue, but for itself.
P.S As for streamers leaving the game....Imagine playing the same game for like 3-4 years, 6-7 hours a day. GOD, hell boring. I am 31 and have already changed 3 jobs in 6 years, just to see something new on my field(computer scientist).
I rest my case. Negativity will always prevail, and not for the sake of pushing things forward and for constructive dialogue, but for itself.
There you are mistaken.
Like, I have not faced (real life) so much negative people who prove my point.Guess, I have.
Make a distinction between those who are negative for a living and those who are critical for the embetterment; don't accept mindlessness to be the status quo. I have defined mindlessness. Loving the game is only possible if critical about current divisive target audience card design. The next expansion: different cards, same mindlessness. Read my lips. The past confirmed unmistakenly.

Why do you play/comment on this game apart from proving my point about negativity?

No, you won't get anywhere playing Shaman. I haven't seen a single player reach rank 1 legend or even top 5 with Shaman this season, while many people had done with Druid. Druid is decent on ladder and very good in tournament where you can ban unfavourable matchups.
UI and BP maybe deserves a nerf but the main problem in Druid has always been Wild Growth. Druid always had at least one tier 1/2 deck just because of Wild Growth. I don't understand why Nourish got axed, but Wild Growth certainly deserves it.
I rest my case. Negativity will always prevail, and not for the sake of pushing things forward and for constructive dialogue, but for itself.

Well, you prove my point. Negativity all for nothing. Emptiness.Chaos.
Why do you play/comment on this game apart from proving my point about negativity?
Because he is a moron.
His entire thing is blaming the devs for his shortcomings. Like he says in his signature, he ''can't win even with all the skill in the world'' so it is easier for him to blame the development and other players than to accept that maybe, just maybe, he doesn't have as much skill as he believes to have and just kindda sucks at the game?
Hooghout, you're an idiot.
You went on record saying that you play Quest Priest, a deck that apparently needs a lot of skill to pilot because you hate mindlessness, but you refuse to play Velen and Malygos, the cards that can make the deck explode because they are ''mindless''. You're the same type of moron who decides to run a marathon but before the race even starts he shoots himself in the foot because he wants to prove a point about how he is better than everyone else and can win even when crippled. In the end, he loses the race and then proceeds to whine about how everyone else had an unfair advantage over him and how the system screwed him over. That is exactly what you do in HS. You put yourself on a pedestal, cripple yourself on purpose because you believe that your ''superior intellect and skill'' is enough to win and then you whine here like a little bitch about how EVERYONE ELSE is out to get you, how everyone else in mindless, how the developers are the core of all evil in the world and so on. I'm shocked at the amount of mental gymnastics that you need to preform on every single post that you make just to try to justify your bullshit and not break this illusion that you're in.
Why is it so? Because it is easier to spew BA level of philosophy that you've found on reddit to continue this delusion of grandeur than to actually stop and ask yourself that maybe you're the one who is in the wrong? Ofc that won't happen, you'll just reply with some more nonsense about ethics and go on your merry way.
There is nothing else left to say other than that I pity you. Every time that I see you posting something it is filled with negativity and flipping the blame on someone else. You're a sad, little man, Hooghout, and I can only feel sorry for you because you seem so trapped and engaged in a game and community that is causing you to be so negative and toxic all the time. Take a break from Hearthpwn and the game, go outside, meet new people, treat yourself to a new fedora, find something that makes you happy and then come back with a new perspective...or just stay here and continue to spew nonsense, whatever works out for you, buddy.
It's not abourt negativity, It's not that I like being negative about the game it's just that I hate those periods of time when the game is stale and this year was full of disappointment.
The last 2 expansions main feature failed hard.
Spirit cards see no play whatsoever, The only 2 Loas seeing play are mage and paladin.
Magnetic failed hard the only 2 cards that are currently being played is Zilliax(because it's overloaded with stuff) and Spider Bomb(Which is also stronger than average in utility) the rest of the magnetic cards just saw no play.
Guess we will see how the game will look post rotation but we still have 2 infinite value cards in the game with hagatha and dr. boom.
I still enjoy playing HS casually, but a few changes would make a big difference.
The animations and turn transitions really need to be sped up. I understand why they are like that, Blizzard want to make it clear to newer players what is happening.
I'm curious how many people would continue to play HS without the daily quests. I guess, i would have stopped playing long ago.
All Skill, No Luck
There you are mistaken.
We make our world significant through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
Like, I have not faced (real life) so much negative people who prove my point.Guess, I have.
Same here. Played this game from beginning, now I only return for my dailies. Find myself trying Heroes if the Storm and D3.
We make our world significant through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
Well, you prove my point. Negativity all for nothing. Emptiness.Chaos.
Why do you play/comment on this game apart from proving my point about negativity?
No, you won't get anywhere playing Shaman. I haven't seen a single player reach rank 1 legend or even top 5 with Shaman this season, while many people had done with Druid. Druid is decent on ladder and very good in tournament where you can ban unfavourable matchups.
UI and BP maybe deserves a nerf but the main problem in Druid has always been Wild Growth. Druid always had at least one tier 1/2 deck just because of Wild Growth. I don't understand why Nourish got axed, but Wild Growth certainly deserves it.
Guess we will see how the game will look post rotation but we still have 2 infinite value cards in the game with hagatha and dr. boom.
