Hmm buying old sets is not worth it if you do not own anything. I guess it is cheaper to just craft the specific cards you need. Usually, thanks to the powercreep, standard cards are better than outdated wild cards.
What tips do you want us to give you? If you don't have wild cards, use standard ones. If you feel like its not enough, get wild cards. Its simply as it is lol

Dude you need only buy 10 packs per expansion for minimum one legendary card. "But there could be more" haha
Buy some of the old adventures if they are available such as BlackRock Mountain, you will be able to unlock all of the cards from that set. Good luck to you
Buy all the adventures and you should be good. Wild meta more or less remains unchanged say a few cards here in there so the core set of good cards never really rotates making it effectively cheaper then standard. There is a plethora of decks to play and for the most part you can craft whatever deck you want and it should be viable for a long time. Also never de cards each yearly rotation (my biggest mistake was de my gvg and nax cards and I soon regretted it), you'll always end up recrafting something you de.
For the most part, the top decks in Wild are the same decks that are performing well in Standard - each of the decks just get some "upgrades" from the Wild card pool.
The simplest way to begin collecting for Wild is to focus on the cheapest upgrades for your Standard decks. Check out some of the sites which track Wild, like HSReplays or Vicious Syndicate, look at the deck lists, and try to figure out the cheapest ways to upgrade the Standard decks you already have. Secret Hunter is a pretty cheap upgrade, since you only need to craft Commons and Rares, while Even Shaman is a more expensive upgrade, since you'll need to craft Aya Blackpaw.
-Have at least 1600 dust ready at the beginning of the rotation of next hearthstone year and buy missing cards that are going to go to the Hearthstone Hall of Fame (You can predict the timing based off of previous years).
-stick to one class at first like even-shaman or reno-lock (not an over-the-top powerful deck but I like that it only requires one copy of a given card and yet it is still a top tier deck). build up your card collection slowly over time.
-Even though Druid is not half of the top tier deck anymore... I still think the class is crazy powerful and could see more power in future expansions (probably not this upcoming one but that doesn't matter... its wild!)
-disenchant your cards by hand and keep extra copies of powerful cards that may get nerfed in the future.
-build up classic card collection so the transition will be easier between wild and standard.
I am still crafting some old cards that I want to play. I'm just keeping 1200-1600 dust per expansion for wild.
It is about how you can handle your gaming experience.

Odd Paladin, for example, has access to Wild cards like Muster for Battle, Steward of Darkshire, Warhorse Trainer, and Quartermaster.
Secret Hunter has access to Cat Trick, Mad Scientist, Quick Shot, and Cloaked Huntress.

I was in charge!! - Patches the Pirate
Is there some way to buy older expansions??
The oldest one I have access to is Karazhan
Can I somehow buy old adventures???
the oldest on I have is Karazhan
You can start with a number of high tier cheap decks, or decks you own in Standard, and adjust for Wild.
Wild Even Shaman has only common and rares from Wild. Aya Blackpaw is not necessary. And that's top tier.
If you already own Standard Aluneth Mage, it's pretty cheap to adjust for Wild. Not very high tier, but still viable.
Same goes for Secret Hunter: its legendaries and epics are all Standard.
That for a pretty good and cheap start.
Odd Rogue, Paladin and Jade Druid require only few Wild Legendaries.
If you wanted to switch to Wild Control or Combo, that's a much harder task...
I only have hearthstone on phone will it still work
thnx, also what old adventure would you recommend me to buy seeing as they cost a fair bit
Brm or loe i think
League of Explorers is the most fun one with some key cards like Reno Jackson and Finley for aggro decks.
I'd probably get that one if I were you.

-cards to consider crafting (from https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/205920-legendary-tier-list-crafting-guide)
Mad Scientist
Poison Seeds
Haunted Creeper
Shielded Minibot
Avenge
Muster for Battle
Maelstrom Portal
Jade Claws
Sludge Belcher
Deathlord
Coldlight Oracle
Quartermaster
Ice Block
Molten Giant
some commons + rares and Reno Jackson do the job.
Try to get them.

ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Go to the deck choosing screen. Click the button at the top right to change from standard to wild mode.
Play a game in Wild.
EZ. You're welcome :-)
