Exactly lol. I remember Blizz was actually asked about this early in HS's life, whether they'll bring any other of their franchises to the game. Their answer was a resounding NO! because it was a Warcraft game. They wanted to stick to Warcraft lore, outside of an event here and there.
With that clearly no longer being the case, well, I guess they need to start constructing additional Pylons...
Actually, the new paladin 1 drop Glow-Tron has a pylon in his body. Starcraft is already in the game
I think it would be cool if hearthstone had a diablo based expansion
Blizzard should just make a new card game that has all the games in like how HOTS works. It would totally sell as it would get fans from all the games.
I am not against Warcraft or anything, and I think it has definitely formed a great basis for a game, but ultimately, I have never played WoW and this is what I play. I think it's good to have some liberty to make cards around themes that they want and that the can base cool expansions off of.
Let's all get our pitchforks and torches and head to their headquarters and throw a tantrum because they took their own product and manufatured it their own way, and lets not forget to mention it was done -gasps in horror- legally too!!
Now that the sarcasm is out of the way, yes it does kinda feel bad that they are breaking from the lore in character named cards. But my more pressing concern is balance and viability, not how well the cards fit in the story.
Keep up the push though for story backed cards, it does make sense and makes for a neat thematic game play.
I have mixed feelings on this one. On one hand I want more characters from the entire warcraft lore including the novels. On the other hand when I see terrible legendaries such as Illidan Stormrage, Rhonin, and Varian Wrynn not living up to their name as opposed to say Sylvannas; I just want to yell STOP!!
If hearthstone will become soo big. it should be the other way around! hearthstone cards COULD become inspiration to wow lore!
It's not as if wow lore is a closed book.
Which it has on multiple occasions as of now with Sir Finley and an example during Legion. The Tortollans are another example in the upcoming expansion Battle for Azeroth , along with Sky Captain Kragg and Patches which are dungeon bosses. Hell The OP of this thread is even wrong about how there are no legendaries that are from WoW because Subject 9 is a quest giver in Azshara if i remember right

This would be pretty awesome - even if they instead just added them to Hearthstone
couldnt care less about warcraft lore if I tried. They actually removed the heroes of Warcraft bit from the game title ages ago so it’s no secret that they wanted to move away from the limits of wc lore, good move imo.
the less hearthstone has to do with Warcraft the better

Why ? It's supposed to be a card game based on the Warcraft universe. Dunno if you ever played WoW but if you did, you'd see that so many creatures are from WoW. First time I played WoW I was amazed to see the bloodfen raptors, river crocolisks and even piloted shredders! (started playing HS before I tried WoW)
A well known Warcraft character has made a lab in a WoW place (Twisting Nether.) Crazy bomb building goblins have been in the universe since Warcraft 2. That is pretty solid imo!
The expansion with the weakest Warcraft connection so far is probably Karazhan. Did they even bother implementing any of that BS anywhere else?
That I agree with. It was just downright bizarre, thematically speaking. Even the whole atmosphere it was going for made very little sense to either Warcraft or even Hearthstone. But at least it had a bunch of familiar faces in a goofy setting, which was if nothing else kind of in keeping with the game's initial selling point. But yeah, in a whole, it was weird. Almost as weird as Gadgetzan. Everyone knows Johnny Awesome is Azeroth's most eligible bachelor anyway.
I only played WoW this year, after getting hooked on Hearthstone. To be honest, it didn't seem all that great, nor was it any fun. I'm pretty sure anyone trialing WoW for the first time, this year, would probably agree with my opinions of the game.
I could imagine vets of both HS and WoW could get a bit nastalgic at times, but HS means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. I think it's safe to assume this set looks like a whole lot of fun!

Well there goes another doomsayer thread!!

Cute, ineffective, but cute.

Does Warcraft use characters from Hearthstone?
...but for real I have no idea, i've never played WoW. :)

Veni Vidi Vici
Jokes on you in the next expansion you’re going to see this new Hearthstone legendaries in WoW
And i don’t even play Paladins
not the OP but darkmoon fair?
HS kinda has it's own lore.. I wish it was more related to WC though.

Missing lethal since June 2015.

Yeah but Wall-E>WOW
I really wish they would add more lore characters from WoW and I never played WoW. I just like the history and characters.
Blizzard wants to develop new IP, not just recycle old ones. Can't really blame them.
