Or so I thought. Seems like the first! official announcement said the light goes out July 30.
And several guys from Blizzard translated this to "The Midsummer Fire Festival will take place from the 16 to the 30 July!" which is wrong, 29th would have been right (German Hearthstone Twitter https://twitter.com/hearthstone_de/status/1017735674961842176)
So what now? This mincommunication costed a lot of gold, probably not only for me.
If I was saving quests I would be pissed to. Lost 50 gold because of it which is like half a pack. Not happy but not going to go bananas over it. If it indeed ended 1 day early well then their media team did a flippin poor job of informing us of it.
Oh well, small indie company!

Well, if the "light goes out on July, 30th", that means it can be interpreted that the event can end on any point of July, the 30th.
I guess in this case, it ended on the first moment of July, 30th. It sucks, because I know everyone will enjoy to complete 1 more quest for double gold (or just to QQ that they've got yet another "only" 100g and not 120g+ :) ). But hey, we all should be happy with the stuff that we are getting for free and always remember - "it could have been worse".
But in all honesty, the only people that lost any gold are those, that didn't complete all of their quest up until July 29th in the hope (or greediness (depends on how you view it)) to reroll it one more time and maybe get even more gold.

I only got 100g quests anyway, and that was with rerolling and everything, guess I should be thankful we can't get 40g quests anymore. But the original post on blizz site was as you said "light goes out July 30", so I guess they told us the correct date? I finished the quests earlier, just to be sure.
Because there already were fuckups with how long some events last. Happy to see I have another day to complete 3 of my quests, I only did 1 to get a new one after midnight. Now, I'm 150g shorter thanks to blue (blizzard) poster. I sure am glad I thought they know what they are talking about, its their game, right ?
I purposely didn't complete my 50g quests so I could of had a chance to reroll on the last day. Lost 150g... This was a HUUUUUGE miscommunication. The date should of been more clear, and was only sourced from 1 area, nowhere else. This is quite disappointing :|

What are your thoughts?
Is it over as of now?

Ended 29th July 23:59:59 in EU
ended 21 minutes ago at least for Europe.
yep, literally ended 20 mins ago when we got our new quest for the day.
at first I did think the 30th was the last day, but apparently not so i'm glad I did all my remaining quests today just to be safe.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.
this was very unfortunate, I also lost some gold :(
oh it ended.. just yesterday I got a friend with 160 gold :)
oh well 3.5K gold (+ all the dust I have) should be enough for a few decks.

For the record, as of this moment the festival is still going on in the US. But given it's ended in EU then that means.
GO COMPLETE YOUR QUESTS NOW!
Thank you
