I'm curious what everyone does on the first day/week an expansion hits. In my opinion the best part is experimenting with the new cards you get, and playing against friends and letting the combos/synergies come out naturally rather than simply copy others as soon as you can.
I usually start out with something simple, like midrange hunter, tempo rogue, or big spell mage, then add in any cards I might have acquired.
Witchwood was a bit different because I wanted to play around with even/odd decks right away. I kinda came up with even paladin on my own at the time, but any monkey could have made that deck lol.
So I guess what I typically do is, take old simple archetypes that have seen success, and bring in a couple new cards to make it feel fresh.

I usually will use old decks and if there's a few cards that are no longer available due to rotation I look for similar substitutes. Or if there is no changes I'll just use that. Then I'll watch streamers to see if something good and make it. After a few days the meta starts to form and hsreplay settles down and I go by that.
Depends. If I don't get all of the cards I want & I still don't the dust to craft everything I want to make particular deck I'll just go to ladder to get some easy ranks since I'll have to wait for using certain decks anyway.
If I do have enough of the cards I want I usually try the new decks of mine in casual.
'Cus I don't have anything better to do with my life. :D
But seriously, I do the following thing - I insta craft the cards I know for sure I want to play. They don't have to be tier 1 or 2 necessarily, but I prioritize the stronger ones. In the previous expansion on the first day I insta crafted Shudderwock, Hagatha and Godfrey, just because a) the shaman cards looked exciting and b) I wanted to improve my warlock decks a bit. Since I got Glinda Crowskin, I also knew that I wanted to play the infinite combo (feat. Baleful Banker) and this epic was crafted shortly after. Sooo the first thing I do after I open packs is to craft the missing fun cards, which I will play for sure, and then to play with my theorycrafts.
I usually try to incorporate the new cards into my old decks before I decide to create a new deck from scratch.
People ALWAYS rush to say how garbage the Blizzard deck recipes are, but if you actually try them they are really fun and sometimes meta worthy. It’s not highly common, but I’d say that 2-3 are fine for laddering. I took the even paladin recipe to 5, and that is in no way optimized compared to hsreplay or whatever.
I usually try those out first then change cards until it feels right.
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.
I craft the biggest most useless legendaries each and every season and I tell myself i'll do better next season and end up doing the same thing all over again.
Right after opening the packs (and during), I actually like watching streamers play. Not to copy their new decks, but I generally like watching streams and it's fun seeing them come up with new things (things that I probably wouldn't come up with) and I don't really play myself until the next day.

I usually bang my head against the wall cause of my terrible luck.

I build a nasty, 'orrible, fast aggro deck then capitalize on everyone trying out new stuff and get some EZ wins :D
Nah really though I will probably be experimenting too.
Sorry, I guess that falls under “something else entirely”
on a random note, the QQ cracks me up as my wife is Chinese and QQ is a social media platform in China. Lol

Look at my bank account balance and promise myself I won't spend this much money on cards again.
Sell my children to pay back the loan that allowed me to purchase the whopping $80 pre-purchase bundle.

Play old T1 decks that have no new cards in them.
Craft Wizbang the wonderful and crush some ladder opponents.
Love the tribes.
Given the name of the expansion, I think EXPERIMENTING is the right thing to do....
Username checks out :)

We found and aggro / zoolock player wanting to take as much fun away from others as possible lol

Go to kripp stream and try to snipe him, as always.
