if jade idol didn't exist the meta would be completely different. It inhibits control and lets pirates run amok.im convinced this is a fact, unless you care to refute.
If you wanted to prey on a meta dominated by control decks, you could already do so without needing Jade Idol. Control decks are vulnerable to even the cheesiest of builds, like Dane's Shadowcaster Reno Rogue. You can get away with almost anything against them. That's what makes them weak, not any one card.
No. If Jade Idol didnt exist the meta would be exactly the same, minus the 5% of people who play jade druid.
People gravitate towards fast, cheap, easy and strong decks. Pirate decks easily fulfil these requirements, so the majority of people play them. Removing jade idol doesn't stop pirate decks from doing their thing.
fatigue decks typically suffer to aggro decks. It's actually a natural design of card games and WHY aggro even exists: to force decks to stop being so greedy.
Jade, meanwhile, is a midrange deck, which, in HS, also feeds on control. if anything, they hold back other midrnage decks like hunter and old style shaman.
Fatigue wouldn't have a chance in ANY spot of this meta, especially with Priest's new lightbomb (which is only not in play due to the lack of control) and warlock being..welll.. warlock.
Though I'm biased, after half a year of Tempo-based curvestone mania, actual AGGRO decks feel fresh again. Though it helps knowing that they die to slow reno decks :P
there are like 2 control decks that are tier 1 (reno mage & renolock)
1 combo deck that is one of the harder decks to play (miracle rouge)
1 mid range deck (mid range shaman, 3 if you count dragon priest and dragon warrior, even doe i dont consider them t1)
and 2 aggro decks (pirate warrior & aggro shaman)
the meta is one of the most diverse ive ever played (played since gvg/naxxaramas)
we dont have one deck that is ruling them all like secret paladin or patron warrior or undertaker hunter, even pirate warrior and midrange shaman arent that broken
if you want control, just play reno mage or renolock, or, as a t2 deck, control warrior
Nobody plays Jade Druid. I see it 1/20 games. So play whatever control deck you want that allows you to counter aggro and have a good chance of losing 5% of your matchups to Jade. Seems like a fair trade to me. That's why I had no issue climbing to rank 5 against primarily aggro with ancestral control shaman

If either Patches or Bucaneer didn't exist, I doubt the meta would be exactly the same.
It's true for me at least. I don't play control on standard ladder anymore due to jade idol. I know it's not a very common deck and that it is pretty bad against an aggro meta, but it's just a silly deck to meet when you like control decks sprinkled with a little value on top. It's design is a rather bad fit for HS' narrow selection of strategies, stuff like that is more interesting in games like MTG where you can interact with your opponent's turn, hand and deck.
And sure, you can tweak your deck to be more pro-active - but ultimately the best pro-active strategy in HS at the moment is to play a pirate deck.
Jade golems completely ruin the game for me tbh. I basically only play priest, since the launch of the game. Cause I like the style. Priest have never been top tier and I'm ok with that but playing against druid makes me want to instant concede, which should not be the point of this game. Winning against Druids is nearly impossible for Priest, while there should be no class that is unbeatable by another class. That breaks the game.

Like Freeze mage against warrior? there have always been these kind of matchups

Freeze mage is a deck, jade idol counters any controllish deck based on value.
It's not new, old handlock did the same - but it wasn't as onesided.
In my opinion fatigue decks were always annoying and boring as sh**.
Its good to see them gone with jade druid. It makes those wealthy control warriors/priests/paladins think about finishing the game other than watch the enemy slowly burn humself out of cards.
Furthermore, I play jade decks a lot. Jade Druid plays much different than the rogue and shaman most comon variants. It is powerful, but its extremely draw dependant. Even moreso thab reno decks because at least renolock and reno mage have a ton of similar cards that can make do in each other's place.
Druid, however, if unnable to ramp ahead, draw his jades and still keep a reasonable health is screwed and will not pull the magic auctioneer turn. Remember that his golems do not have charge nor taunt. He can be bullied very easily.
Also, neither cthun, nzoth, deathwing, ragnaros nor any big shit will likely decide a game against aggro. The trades there simply ignore value, either you keep your healt stabilized and remove/prevent all the damage from the pirate warrior/shaman/rogue or you instalose. You just run him out of damage.

I refute. Really. It's a subjective opinion with no evidence. My refutle is clearly right based on my own subjectivity. Care to elaborate further?
Also, dragon priest stomps all pirate decks and jade druid too, kinda awkward that this totally contradicts both points in your statement.

Pirate smorc decks more so inhibit control by roflstomping you before the game even starts. Maybe somewhere in the dumpster ranks jade druid is good.
New year, same circlejerk.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

Maybe I missunderstand this, but I think both appeared at the same time wiht Gadgetzan release...
It's like eternal question:
What was first ? The (angry) chicken or the (nerubian) egg?

Pirate meta is a result of Patches and Small-Time Bucaneer !
(or did I miss something?)
