Personally I end up with either some random deck that I have created like secretkeeper mage (holy crap that was bad) or one of my favorites, mill rogue......
I generally default to some random assortment of cards that vaguely resemble a reincarnate Shaman or I try to create a crazy deck I've never seen before. This season I just tried some flood paladin since it's going to be relegated to wild soon before it was a fully realized thing.
Fun decks are those you build yourself, or some brand new netdecked ideas(not 134% winrate decks, those are stupid meta decks mostly). Some of them lose to much and become unfun(I've tried countless rogue controls, they just worse than everything on ladder), some of them are competitive.
Noteworthy examples (those decks are competitive on ladder): Reno mill druid Aviana ramp druid Midrange reno mage Crusher shaman (netdecked idea long time ago, but now there are way more cards) Anyfin OTK paladin (well, was fun on the beginning, until good/tested versions emerged) Patron / Alextrasza+Charge OTK warrior Oil Raptor tempo rogue Dreadsteed reno warlock (netdecked, but reworked) Beast reno midrange/control hunter Jinn inner fire priest (netdecked completely)
Playing Reno Dreadsteed deck all the time, even when I am worried about laddering, because it just works and it is tons of fun :D (check my signature to see it)
Nice, I've been playing a similar deck but including a golem plus faceless for burst. Yours looks more reliable!
Ok so here is my creation and well..it's fun, It's CRAZY! and i love it! Those early concedes are just so delicious but it can also go the distance with plenty of survivability. Depends on what you are up against, you can play this very aggressively or moderately and have tons of health. 80+ health if you really need to run the health combos or use it aggro. Has fun combos and the long cons make it very flexible. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/436252-osgs-legendary-funlock
My Wailing Soul Druid deck. Lots of bad cards and lots of ways to silence everything. When it works its great fun. When I don't pull a way to silence anything it doesn't do so hot. I love it when my opponent pauses and I know they are thinking "WTH is this person doing?".
The most fun decks are the ones that are different, but not completely unviable, because it's not fun to loose 10 games in a row. For my part, I play mostly Reno Hunt (the one by Kharan on the site), Echo Mage, Dreadlock, Avianal/Naga, full demon zoo and trap Hunt (a fun deck I created, every single hunt secret, 2 secret keeper, illuminator and stuff). But I do care about my rank, I always climb with these decks and finish about rank 4 every season. That's the most fun part with these decks: attaining high ranks and crushing top tier decks with them: )
My Guilty pleasure deck is "Mill Rogue", primarily because it's a unique type of deck and the hardest deck to play around. Never play more than a couple of rounds with it tho, since it embodies a type of play I don't actually like (Freeze Mage etc). I never play ranked with anything but my main Warlock deck. I have 0 ranked wins with all other classes and make sure that it stays that way (sometimes I accidentally queue ranked with another class for dailies, but I have always noticed it so far and always conceded immediately).

When it gets down to the end of the season and you know you dont have the time or effort to really climb anymore, whats your go to deck?
Do you try out some new decks/classes, do a little theorycraft and play around a bit, or do you have a go to 'gimmicky' deck?
Or are you thinking the people playing pirate rogue are insane, i mean come on theres like 5 days left in the season!
If you do have a favorite deck, share it here!

Randuin Wrynn - all iterations
Casino Mage

Currently Reno shadowpriest, but my favourite deck varies every few weeks, and it's never about the laddering.

i dont care about ranks, but i hate losing games
Mech rogue with Jeeves, Iron Sensei, and Cogmaster's Wrench
I like playing Shadow Priest games can be long but it is a blast!

Nice I may have to try that reno dreadsteed... I was working on the crusher shaman, but alas I only have 1 earth elemental.
I also think my favorite part is when you can just tell that the person you are playing is sitting across from you thinking....wtf?
I'm playing a version of miracle rogue that instead of violet teachers, using summoning stones, and it's a lot of fun.
Also includes Burgle which seems to give you just the epic/legendary you needed
