Sniper seems okay in your deck but if you want to remove it put in a Knife Juggler or Haunted Creeper. Also considering running more beasts to enable K Command, as well as other stuff like Houndmaster and Ram Wrangler.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Decks:
I currently play primarily Hybrid Hunter, Face Hunter, Patron Warrior, and Midrange Druid
Also own Midrange Hunter, Midrange Shaman, and Beast Hunter
How do you react to massive swings in results from day to day? Yesterday I played two decks from rank 6 to rank 2, with a win rate over 70%. Today, I play the same two decks and go 0-9.
Variance my friend. It is a natural part of a statistics based CCG.
Here are some variables to consider:
-Your decks were hitting the meta spot on the other day, getting good match ups and therefore improving your win rate for that due simply due to good matchups
-You were winning significantly, most likely many games in a row, boosting your confidence, and keeping your mind free of the notorious-tilt, allowing you to think clearly and make correct plays.
-You were on heavy tilt today. Losing many games in a row will naturally frustrate a player, releasing chemicals into your brain that clog the thinking process. You often play off impulse at this state, not thinking over your options, and causing you to misplay or play worse in general, which naturally lowers your win rate.
-If you were rapidly switching decks that is a bad thing. Play a deck 10 times in a row to correctly analyze how well it is doing. If you continue to switch over and over, you will confuse yourself in terms of the decks overall game plan, since you are juggling between different play styles. Try to refrain from switching decks so much, and switch to one deck you think i strong. Play that deck a lot and play it well and you are more likely to succeed.
-If you ever lose roughly 10 games in a row, or have anything below a 25-30% win rate for the day, walk away. Play a different game, do something else, or if you want to keep playing HS, play arena or tavern brawl to get your confidence back up, then return after a significant amount of time and your mind should be fresh.
-Meta: Your deck may be good in the meta for that day, but the invisible hand of HS will force the meta to eventually change and react, and likely counter the decks that are doing very well for the day, which can explain the poor win percentage the following day.
-In Conclusion:
-Try not to be emotional when you play. Your opponent sometimes gets "lucky" if you will, but so do you, its called variance. Accept he/she drew the card that he/she put his deck for that reason, and move on.
-Dont focus intensely on climbing the ladder. Its good to be focused, but when you are too serious, you create stress and anxiety that are unlikely to improve your play, and will most likely decrease your win percentage
-ACCEPT VARIANCE: variance is the almighty statistical truth of HS. You will never go 60-0 in the long run. If you win 10 in a row, expect that same deck to likely get beaten by a shift in meta at some point. If you lose 10 in a row, walk away and come back another day, and if the meta has shifted, your win percentage will likely shift as well.
-HS is a game entirely driven by assumptions, numbers, percentages and statistics. Don't get too emotionally caught up in it. If you approach and react to it logically (like how the game is designed) you can find ways to manipulate, or take advantage of various percentages and numbers to favor you.
I hoped this helped!

Well, I picked a deck, stuck with it, and just hit legend. Thanks for the well thought out advice!
Hello there. Do you think Echo of Medivh is a must in Grinder Mage? Also, Antonidas hasn't been pumping out value like he was in my Tempo deck and I know how this deck doesn't really have enough spells to fuel him. Are there any good replacements (both legendary or non-legendary) for him? I'm considering Kel'Thuzad since I'm one wing away from completing Naxxaramas but that still a few more weeks of questing to go. Thank you.
Sniper seems okay in your deck but if you want to remove it put in a Knife Juggler or Haunted Creeper. Also considering running more beasts to enable K Command, as well as other stuff like Houndmaster and Ram Wrangler.
Knife Juggler and Haunted Creeper gets silenced by Wailing Soul. I dont run Kill Command and there is not enough room for beasts and on top of that the cards that combo with them. Thats like a whole different deck. I removed 1 Zombie Chow because the healing was to much and It didnt gave me enough value. I include King Krush since its allmost allways guaranteed damage to the face if you need it because of all the silence cards and it would hit face in the same turn as Dr. Boom since it has charge and Dr. Boom would often just get removed or traded.
This deck was doing pretty well before TGT but after TGT it has done pretty poorly. Dream is something like this: You get coin. Turn 1 Mortal Coil opponent's 1-drop, turn 2 Darkbomb opponent's 2-drop, turn 3 Imp Gang Boss, turn 4 Voidcaller, turn 5 trade your Voidcaller away for opponent's 4 or 5-drop, and get either Doomguard or Dread Infernal, then Bane of Doom to finish opponent's 4 or 5-drop that was left with 1 or 2 health after Voidcaller.

Sorry for the late response i have been ill and very busy recently.
Your deck seems to have a strong demon theme but lacks some of the most important demons. there is a decent amount of anti-synergy here which is probably resulting in the deck performing below your expectations.
Flame Imp>Worgen infiltrator. Theres not much else too it tbh. It has better stats and the drawback is irrelevant almost if you are the board control deck, additionally it has demon synergy.
Senjin is also a mismatch in the deck. Its simply too weak considering the power level of your other cards and doesn't accomplish your goal. You want to put senjin in your deck if you know that you are going to be behind on board regularly. In any minion based demon warlock deck, if you are behind on board you are already losing significantly, and will most likely lose, so you want to replace senjin with a card that will better establish your board state.
Other opinions: -1 bane, two is a lot and is clunky to have 2 in your hand. -1 siphon. Its too slow to have 2 in a minion based board control deck. Having 1 is ok to deal with big creatures that you can't trade into, but at that point its worth it to consider BGH. Idealy you want to use your minions to control the game, not your spells, running 2 siphon is too slow. If the meta REALLY slows down you can run like 1 bgh 1 siphon but never 2 siphon, this deck is not hand lock.
power overwhelming is a valid consideration, powerful card that can pump up an imp.
Implosion is a great card for removal+board presence.
2 demonheart seems clunky, but if your deck is actually all demons it seems ok.
Consider mistress of pain. In a deck that runs 1-2 demonhearts, its potential to be strong is high. Also a 6/9 is an insane creature if you get the combo off.
So, in conslusion,
My add/cuts to smooth out the deck, the add consistency and better further your game plan are roughly
-1/2 siphon, -1 bane, -2 senjin, -2 worgen, -1 dread infernal (fearsome doomguard is just better to have)
If you have any questions just reply to the commend or pm me. Alternativly you can watch my stream where I play very high ranked warlock a lot. I stream from 7:30-11:30 Tues-Sunday PM PST.

Sniper gets silenced too, so I suggest Creeper.
The reason i use Steamwheedle Sniper is because i have a low amount of spells so i use it as removal. It kinda a hybrid.
The idea is solid on paper, but in game, its much too slow. Thats just my opinion. Hunter is supposed to be a high impact class that is fast regardless what kind of deck it is. Savanah is "slow," but its so insane that its acceptable. In a type of deck that wants to do so much, this is just too mana intensive, and the creature can be easily removed.

TBH i don't have a lot of experience with grinder mage but I have played against some professional players that are very good grinder mage players like rage and have seen their deck lists in action. Its true that archmage does not have enough spells to goo off in this deck because you run so many creatures. You now have to decide whether to cut archmage or add more spells.
IMO echo is insane in grinder mage. Because you run some super high value minions, like sludge, boom, and water elemental, its quite strong. There are some add/cuts i would make however.
First of all, if you are gong to run one doomsayer, than you should have at least 1 freeze in the deck. Since blizzard is similar to flame strike, and both freezes and does damage, it is a good option. 1 blizzard should compliment your doomsayer, and help stall your opponents tempo when facing aggressive decks.
Novice is weak compared to bloodmage thanes, its simply a better card.
This deck could use 1 azure drake both for spell power and the extra mid game card draw.
Emperor is not too great in a deck that doesn't goo off with archmage or have tons of late game cards, and you could use that slot for a big value minion.
I personally think senjin is weak, and if you are looking for a strong mid game minion, nothing tops shredder. Senjin is usually a 1 for 1 on average, while piloted shredder almost always is a 2 for 1 or 1 and a half for one, which trumps senjin if you simply want to out value and grind your opponent out.
Consider sneeds old shredder. People seem to have forgotten about this card, but it was one of my favorites in TGT and still is one of my favorite late game cards. In a deck that extracts maximum value, sneeds is very good. Most people are hesitant because they don't see it in super pro players lists all the time, but I think the card is quite viable. Other than that the list seems pretty good.
Maybe -1 polymorph for +1 effigy or mirror, but because 2 polymorphs is slow. Your deck is a little more midrange than grinder mage btw, Its minion base is what makes it come off like that. This kind of mage absolutely has the potential to grind its opponent out with duplicate and echo. But shaping it to have a hybrid touch can allow for some free wins when you curve out with strong minions.
Try this out, see how it works and reply or pm me if you have other questions.

Thank you so much for the advice! I only included two of Novice Engineer after hearing StrifeCro in some of his VODs about how awkward it is to simply Hero Power on turn 2 so I loaded up on cards that can cycle me into my answers for the current board state. I unfortunately don't have Bloodmage Thalnos, Ysera, Sneed's old Shredder and the two Echos of Medivh but I do have enough dust two Epics or one Legendary. Which one do you think I should go after first? I'll edit the deck later and take it for a spin. Again, thank you!
Hello Mr Sauce. I've been playing around with Dreadscale and Powershot in a Mid Range Hunter list, could you give me your opinion of both cards as well as this list?
So far this season I've been struggling. Usually sit around Rank 9 but this season I've struggled to get below Rank 18. This deck so far has carried me back to Rank 10 without an issue.
I was running Argent Horserider in place of Dreadscale/Powershot which I think is what people are typically running at the moment, but I just didn't feel like I was getting any value out of it other than the odd two for one.
What cards should i use ti finish this deck, i just started the game 3 days ago and don't have a lot of dust to use :/
Hello there. I'm not OP but I think that it's pretty tough to tell where you go from there especially if you just started the game. I suggest grinding out classic packs for Ancient of Lore andForce of Nature, both of which are staples in just about any Druid deck you'll see out there. While grinding out packs, look out for big legends like Cenarius and Ragnaros the Firelord, two big legends which do work in Druid. Other cards to look out for are Wrath, Keeper of the Grove and Druid of the Claw which are staple cards. Note that all of these cards are from classic packs. You can also try out the other packs for a chance at Darnassus Aspirant or maybe even Savage Combatant (which is a pretty good card, but hasn't found its place yet) from TGT or Dr. Boom from GvG.
The most reliable way get a lot of gold for packs is to run through Arena multiple times and finish daily quests if you're also a F2P user (I know the grind is hard).
What cards should i use ti finish this deck, i just started the game 3 days ago and don't have a lot of dust to use :/
Whatever you decide to do, craft 2x Ancient of Lore if you really want to get into the druid class, as that one card is a staple in a very wide variety of decks because it's arguably the best druid card there is.
From there, you have a choice to either go with the more taunt/ramp druid deck by adding in 2x Sludge Belcher from Naxx, or going with a more traditional combo ramp by dropping a Starfire and adding in 1x Savage Roar and 2x Force of Nature.
Thank you so much for the advice! If you really are committed to this deck i really reccomend 1/2 echos.
As for the legendary, Ysera is a staple in MANY deck is competitive HS so it is a good craft reguardless. Bloodmage also fits in a number of decks, but Ysera definitally fits in more if you like control.

The list is very solid. It takes refined elements of other decks and therefore is optimized quite well.
However, most midrange hunter lists I see run 1 hunters mark (in the place of the powershot) and 1 stranglethorn tiger for a consistent, stealthed 5/5 that sticks. The stealth is important because you run ram wrangler and houndmaster, and its very difficult to kill the tiger before your next turn. One of the problems I had when running midrange hunter last season, upon tgt release. Was that it was difficult to activate ram wrangler, and tiger compliments both houndmaster and wrangler. Tiger is also a 5 drop, and since the deck only has 2, adding in a 5 drop rounds out the curve.
That would of course just bring it to a "standard" list, but imo these cards work well in midrange hunter for the reasons listed above.
I hope this helped!

Additionaly, if you are looking for a more analytical breakdown, i stream Tues-Sunday 7:30pm-12pm PST and answer a lot of questions there, as well as walk through all my plays of the different decks I play, and give reasons for various cards etc.

The previous responses are on the right track.
As Almagnus1 stated, Ancient of Lore is a must have, and is considered by many to be the best epic in the game. If you want to get into druid this is the card to start with.
Azure drake is a rare and a great card.
Savage combatent is also a very strong card.
As for the rest of the cards, many of the responses above give good avice and I would just be repeating what they said. However, I will state, Dr.Boom should be the first legendary craft you make 100%. It fits in almost any deck and is considered to be the strongest neutral legendary.
Thanks mate, I appreciate your comprehensive answer.
I will make the Powershot change because in reality it is just not working the way I hoped it would. I was trying to use it as an early game delay against aggro but half the time I'm not getting full value and the other half I'm not fully killing the three targets.
I'll have a play with Stranglethorn as well and see how I go with that.
My only other real question is your personal thoughts on Dreadscale. I'm actually really, really liking him in this deck. He's won me a lot of games against aggro by providing a late board clear or at minimum weakening the board, and when hit with a Houndmaster he attracts hard removal like nothing else.
He's also awesome to drop just before boom because of the above - attracts everything they can throw at him and then Boom comes out next turn quite often on a clear or mostly clear board.
I'd probably
+1 Zombie Chow
+1 Dr Boom
-1 Multishot
-1 King Krush
Sniper seems okay in your deck but if you want to remove it put in a Knife Juggler or Haunted Creeper. Also considering running more beasts to enable K Command, as well as other stuff like Houndmaster and Ram Wrangler.

He's also awesome to drop just before boom because of the above - attracts everything they can throw at him and then Boom comes out next turn quite often on a clear or mostly clear board.
