I do have some questions on shrinkmeister (and somewhat recombobulator) though, wondering what your thoughts were on whether you should play them out on 2 vs aggro always or if you ever save them vs aggro since they are the only 2 drops. Also with them being the only 2 drops should you play them out vs control as well and only treat them as a combo piece with cabal or shadow madness if you draw one later?
Also cleric, being the only one drop, but also being your draw engine, do you just drop it vs aggro as well?
All of this defends on the opponent you are facing. For example, vs hunter, northsire is fairly strong on 1 because none of their minons have 3 attack in the first 1-2 turns, but vs someone like shaman who has totem golem, dont run it out on 1. Think about what early drops your opponents have, and make your anaylsis/decision from there.
In terms of playing out your 2 drops as tempo plays, if you are against a class that wont trade very well into them then yes. For example. Paladins have sheilded minibot, and it will get a free trade against your minion if you play it out first. The same applies to decks that run mad scientist, if they have mad scientist to counter your 3/2 as a two drop you are already losing the tempo/value battle.
Think about what minions your opponent might have, calculate the risk and then make an educated decision that is also influenced by your hand. It simply takes a lot of practice and play in order to determine what plays work best.
Ive been playing hearthstone since beta and have played plenty of handlock. This decks plays similar, but with a dragon theme. Only one mountain giant, because it seems to be a dead card in aggro meta. A little more early game than conventional handlock with double blackwing technician. Plenty of taunts, well cause control lock needs them. What do you think of this deck, just put it together, only played half a dozen games but seems to be good so far against the meta. Haven't faced any face hunters or divine favour palladins yet though.
Chromagus could be too slow. You already have so many cards in hand when playing control warlock decks, and you dont need a super huge draw mechanic like Chromagus. You lack Dr. Boom, and unfortunatly it has to be played in every deck because it is that good regaurdless of other synergy.
Two hellfire 2 shadowflame is too much imo. You dont want your hadn to be flooded with multiple aoe spells with no time to play them. 1 shadowflame 1 hellfire is a good mix and since you tap a lot, you will draw into one by the time you need one on average.
1 mountaint giant is not optimal in my opinion. This is not handlock, and therefore does not have the same gameplan as handlock. Mountiain giant is not optimal, the moltens are still great of course.
The rest of these cards are pretty solid. You may need 1 more late game card (maybe)
In conclusion my add/cuts are:
-hellfire, -1chromagus,-1 mountain giant,-1 ancient watcher
+Dr. Boom, +Azure drake, +Sylvanas,
+1 or 2 defenders of argus. You definitally need at least 1 more taunt giver in this deck. Try running 2 defender/1 sunfury as well as 2 sunfury 1 defender and see which one works better!
Other cards I recommend experimenting with, Zombie chow/Sludge belcher. These cards could be good vs certain decks and are worth a shot!
I hope this helped! Come back after some testing and share the results with me along with which cards worked and didnt work!

Hey! I thought I'd just get some advice here since I usually just copy decks from here, but I decided to try to make my own this season. Here's where I'm at with a Token Paladin and it's doing well, but not too great. I just added Sludge Belcher (and took out Warhorse Trainer) because I feel like I need the added protection. I've never had trouble with card draw as Lay on Hands seems to work well, but maybe throwing in a Cult Master wouldn't hurt? Let me know what you think
Secrets are ok, but not really worth it unless you run mysterious challenger, So if you run secrets I would reccomend running challenger. A lot of people hate the card but its a very strong card and therefore is worth considering! Plus this would be a "different" deck with mysterious challenger.
Because paladin already runs two muster and two truesilver, you often findyourself stuck with too many weapons in your hand and lose a lot of value or simply have deck cards in your hand. This problem already occurs even with 4 weapons, so 5 is kind of pushing it!
2 murloc knights are a MUST HAVE. They are one of the BEST cards in paladin and are so essential for token decks! I have very strong feelings about this card and this is the card that would make the token deck.
I couple other changes need to be made just because other cards work really well with tokens. Sorry my response is kind of short but it is 3 am and I need to go to bed
My add/cuts are:
-1 mad scientist, -1 sword of justice, -1 silver hand regent,
+Murloc knight, +2haunted creeper,
The secrets are ok but competitve spirit is often a dead card when behind or on an even board. So i am not sold by then, but you can continue to run them and see how they do.
Lay on hands also might be a tiny bit too slow but try it out it could be ok.
I hope this helped! come back with some results I want to know how this deck does and which cards worked well.

I apologize for not getting back to people right away, I stream and am in university so every chance I have I answer a few more people about their decks, please be patient and I promise ill do my best to get to everyone as soon as I can.
So I have two decks I've been playing around with but I cant quite seem to get them to work. They both have similar themes but slightly different objectives.
The first is a super aggro warlock deck. With the release of cards like Demonfuse and Wrathguard I thought it would be fun to make a warlock bumrush deck that relies on playing above curve demons such as Wrathguard and Flame Imp, buff them with cards like Demonfuse and Demonfire, and then proceed to smash peoples faces in.
What I have found so far: Doesn't seem to as well as I'd hoped. Main weaknesses are that it lacks the two tenets of aggro (of which at least one seems to be necessary for success); a) have lots of minions (ala shockadin) or b) have minions that immediately impact the board state upon play (charge, triggered abilities, buff giving, ect.). So perhaps this list is doomed, or perhaps I should tailor it to be more midrangy. I just like the massive buff Demonfuse and that Wrathguard is like a Totem Golem without the overolad. I feel like there should be something good here.
What does work well is dropping Demonfuse on Mistress of Pain. Healing 4 damage with every hit is really effective and serves well to counteract Wrathguard and Flame Imp's damaging abilities as well as life tap. Most games if I drop demon fuse on her early, I at least go 2 for one and often heal back to full health and stay there well into turn 4 or 5.
Let me know what you think
Here was my original idea, felt like it was too clunky, discard mechanic wasn't quite worth it.
Here is my current list. I tried to remedy some of the problems I discussed above, but still feel like its not even close to competitive above rank 20 yet.
You have an ok list but there a few cards that are simply clunky and dont further your gameplan of being super aggresive. First of all, sense demons doenst need to be in the deck, you have your hero power to draw cards, and the sense demons is just a clunky slow card for a really fast deck.
Second of all, Demonfuse is unfortunatly one of the cards I would call straight up bad, paying two mana (theoretically 3.5 because you give your opponent one permentant mana) for +3/+3 is just not good enough. There are other cards which can accomplish this effect without the drawback and with some other utility.
You need to be hard pushing for damage which means that some of these cards are alittle too slow, however not all of them have to be cut.
Finally, you have a lot of spells, and simply lack a strong minion base. There are spells that combine minions +damage like implosion which seems to be a musthave in this deck.
Add/cuts for my first take on it:
-2 demonfuse, -1-2 demonfire (cut 1if you want to keep the semi buff theme if not cut both), -1 sense demons, -1ironbeak owl, -2 darkbomb (you need less spells more minions)
Consider cutting fist of jarraxxus as it seems pretty inconsistent with this list. You only have 1 discard mechanic
+1 demonheart (if you want to keep a semi buff theme) +2 abusive sargent, +1-2 implosion, +1poweroverwhleming, +1 leeroy jenkins, +1 dire wolf alpha, +1 arcane golemn.
This will make the deck WAY more aggresive while also being more consistent. having chargers instead of buffs cards guartees you will get a high attack minion going face, where if you rely too much on buff cards, you will find yourself with no minions on board and no way to push for damage in a decent number of games.
I hope this helped! Aggro warlock is a fun deck to play, let me know how it does I.E. which cards worked and how the deck performs. Thanks for Posting! If you have more questions or want to learn more about deckbuilding/statagy, or want to just watch a high ranked legend player, I stream on Tues-Sun from 6:30/7pm-11/11:30pm PST. On to the second deck, discard demons!! When I saw cards like Fist of Jaraxxus and Tiny Knight of Evil I thought it would be really cool to try to craft a demon based deck operating around the discard mechanic. The idea being that demons with a discard effect such as succubus or Doomguard are very powerful (basically overvalued for their cost) so the discard effect is added in order to counter act that. However, cards like Fist of Jaraxxus and Tiny Knight of Evil allow you to still generate value from discarding cards. My hope is that you can leverage this fact to mitigate the negative affects of the discard mechanic, allowing you to out tempo/value your opponent.
My conclusions so far: Getting only +1/+1 on Tiny Knight of Evil on discard just isn't worth it. The damage done by loosing a random card is worth at least +2/+2, Tiny Knight might just not be worth it. Fist of Jaraxxus is a decent card, but its pretty tricky to get it to trigger on discard, too often I loose something really important instead. Also with the minion heavy decks out there and the influx of token generating cards and buffs, there are just too many sub optimal targets making Fist often ineffective (ie hitting a 1/1 or a 2/2 or something).
I'm not really sure if this idea can work, but I'd really like it to.
This is an idea people were discussing before the launch of tgt.
Mainly, does it have enough of an aggressive/tempo based approach to win consistently. In my opinion the answer is no. I am not one to ussually call a certain type of deck "Bad," but I will say its incredibly inconsistent. The idea of discard was improved with tools like tiny knight of evil as well as fist of jarraxus but lacks a complete set of tools to be its own archtype.
If you did want to run this deck, I will say you have WAY to many spells. Shadowflame is not a great choice and neither is sacrifical pac. Since you want to be the aggresor there is very few situations where you will have a good hellfire.
Demonfuse is a bad card imo.
So is demonfire. You need more minions, kind of like your other deck.
I hope this helped!

Thank you so much for the help on the last deck, it's been much more consistent and fun and is my current "tryhard" deck (the midrange priest) at the moment. I did start experimenting with some others but can't decide which to refine. I played between 5-10 games with each last night, and most of them had around a 45-50% win rate as well. The Inspire Mage actually felt like the one that had the best chance as it always seemed to be only one or two turns off lethal, though it had the lowest winrate at around 35%:
are two different decks that I'm currently working on. Both are not normal decks at all. The first deck is my GrinderLock deck designed to be played similarly to Grinder Mage with your finisher being Majordomo Executus + Garrison Commander. These can be playeed with any combination of Mal'Ganis and Alexstrasza. The second deck is a controled approach to Patron Warrior. Using Axe Flinger to clear the board while chipping away at there face normally setting up for a Grommash Hellscream + Alexstrasza Combo. Grim Patron is normally used as aboard clear something warrior lacks besides Brawl.
Hey applesauceman, good thread you got here. Thanks for your opinions and I like your analytical thought process.
Hey man I really appreciate the constructive comment. I want to do something for the community because hearthstone is such a great game. Im glad you enjoy the thread!

Grinder lock is an interesting concept, However it lacks early survivability.
Shadow bolt is also too inefficient to run. Its to expensive of a card for the utility it provides.
Two twisting nether and 2 siphon soul is much to slow. You definitely dont need garrison commander as 1 tap a turn is all you need. Kezan mystic is additionally too slow, and since you dont have cards like ice block majardomo is simply too dangerous!
Your overall gameplan is to grind your oppponent, but if you die by tunr 6-7 the only thing you will be grinding is your way out of rank 20 all season (sorry for the bad pun :P)
+ 2 Some form of taunt (sunfury/argus) +, 2 ancient watcher, +1 implosison, +1ysera
Maybe throw in an owl as well. Experiment! I think this should make your deck a little more consistent, and provide yourself with some much needed suvivability. Baron isnt that great in warlock but ysera can be really strong! I like the idea of garr
I hope that helps a little bit.

The patron control warrior is another cool list. It doesnt actually rely on frothing berserk to win but more on continuous damage from enrage sources. I like it a lot.
I would say that the only obvious cut is -1shield block, +1 war axe. War axe is one of the best cards in the game and you definitely need 2.
Like i said before this is a REALLY cool deck and i think is more competitive than your other one.
Share your results with me, I would appreciate it!
Thanks for all the advice!! I will definitely give the suggestions you made a try and see how it goes.
And while it's diasppointing, I agree with you that the discard mechanic just doesn't work :/. It's good to know that it's just not me that is the problem
The idea behind Garrison Commander was not to draw 2 cards per turn but to deal 16 damage per turn while your in Rag. However I will try your changes and see how they work out. As for the Control Patron Deck, Thanks! I've been working on it for ages and have finally fined tuned it to the point where i may bring it out to ladder... still not sure about that though.

Definitally bring it to ladder at some point and see how it fares!
