Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

I was so excited we were doing Dragon Hunter cards that I might have jumped the gun:
Fiery Strafe is a board-control tool for Dragon Hunters, but could serve as a lesser Consecration in non-Dragon decks. It would also mark a first for Dragon cards: having "if you're holding a Dragon" on a spell.
The other two are the same thing just with different flavor: Sapphiron and Nightmare Ysera both function like Deathstalker Rexxar's Zombeast Hero Power, only combining Dragons instead of Beasts. Plus, making it a 10-mana minion means it could be played on curve! Know that, just like with DK Rexxar, it is impossible to add 10-mana Dragons like Deathwing, Deathwing, Dragonlord and/or Emeriss to your "Zom-Dragon", along with whatever other such Dragons that would exist in this theoretical expansion.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
I feel like a lot of people are going to make minions in this competition Dragons purely for the purposes of being Dragons and fitting the competition. I suppose this isn't such a big problem as to be fair, both Carrion Drake and Emeriss easily could've been Beasts with the exact same effect and I don't think anyone would've thought any different at all. We had a previous competition with Dragon Paladin in Season 5 where your card needed to be a Dragon synergy card, but just being a Dragon itself didn't count.

Fair to say. Hopefully people will be a little more inspired than simply slapping the Dragon tribe onto any ol' Hunter card.
At the very least, being Dragons means they'll buck against the inherent Beast synergies the Hunter possesses, like the two examples we have. Emeriss cannot be pulled from Kathrena Winterwisp, you can't proc Kill Command with Carrion Drake, and so on.
While I'm on the subject, can we all just skip past the obvious "Your Dragons count as Beasts" effect? It's too easy.

Got the idea from dragons hoarding treasure, and most Hearthstone dragons are slower control cards. 1 Attack, or a 2/3 end result felt too weak to be worth playing.
Yes, "Dragon" should be capitalized. Trying to figure out how Dragon Hunter would feel different from Dragon [anything else]. Emeriss suggests that Dragon Hunter wants a big hand and breeding animals feels more distinctly "hunter-y" to me. Might want to change it to "start of turn" to give opponent a chance to respond.

Should've seen this coming... but didn't. It's a pretty nice theme that offers a lot of possibilities. Here'swhat I got so far:
Token:
Blazing Roar: A quite weak damage tool, but very potent summoning tool. If you manage to kill the enemy minion, you may be able to summon a huge Dragon into the board. May be too powerful because of that same reason, though.
Chimerical Companion (Versions 1 & 2): My favourite out of all three ideas. I'm split on which version it should be. The Dragon version allows you to pull some huge Dragons out of Kathrena Winterwisp and such (if there is a such), while also being able to buff them with cards like Houndmaster, for instance. The Beast version, on the other hand, makes it easier to get Dragon-holding synergies off in hunter (maybe too easy).
The Hatching: Don't know if this one counts... but it's a pretty neat card. It makes it easier to get that Dragon synergy off. Also, they're 1-drops.
Couple of ideas I came up with off the top of my head, thinking of changing Guard the Hoard into summoning a Hoarding Dragon for flavors sake but i feel like the power level of that is too high. The other two are kind of mish mosh with one pushing the dragon synergy and the other just being a dragon for the sake of this and it'd be pretty nice.
As always, feedback is appreciated, and will leave feedback as more cards come in
I also had this idea in mind, although mine was a Legendary, the effect was permanent and had both effects combined. In retrospect, I guess this wasn't the most out of the box idea there was.

Blazing Roar is my clear favorite; it's Bane of Doom for the Hunter, and I can already see the cool animation of a Dragon flying overhead like Deathwing, Dragonlord's Deathrattle, throwing down fire in a line.
As I noted above, I honestly believe Dragons=Beasts/Beasts=Dragons is a cop-out idea. As for The Hatching, it's basically a better Flame Lance: one less damage, sure, but one less mana and you get to keep the overkill damage as 1/1 minions.

My favourite has to be Fiery Strafe. It gives Hunter a new board clear, which could be very useful to this type of Hunter deck. My only problem with it is that the synergy-boost in the spell is not very exciting. If it was like, for instance, a 6 or 5-cost spell that deal 2 or 3 dmg, but dealt 6 if you were holding a Dragon, then, in my opining, it'd be a bit better.
On the other hand the two other I dislike. I like the concept of a Drakonid Zombeast, but I always felt that Zombeasts should be limited to only DK Rexxar. If another card had that effect, it'd kinda take away from the DK class imo. Still, it's the more interesting one so you'll probably end up with that one.
What is the most out of the box idea though is this...
Kind of inspired by Windshear Stormcaller a bit, although the stipulation isn't QUITE as stupid. Still pretty stupid, but not quite. With Emeriss as a Hunter card, I suppose Hunter is now the class of choice for Emerald Dream themed cards instead of Druid. That and Ysera's Dream cards have the Hunter border so I thought it fit well enough.
It does also have Taunt so that it at least does something useful if you don't get the effect to proc unlike Windshear Stormcaller which is just a 5 mana 5/5 without its effect. That Taunt also protects Ysera should you summon her.

When you attack with this bow equipped, targeting a friendly Dragon will be legal. Doing so will not damage it, but will instead give it +2/+2. You will, of course, still lose durability. This card is meant to be versatile in that you can just use it to attack, or you can use it to buff up your Dragons for better trades/longer survivability.
What is the most out of the box idea though is this...

I like the idea, but I'm concerned about how quickly you could theoretically summon a full 4/12 Ysera. If you trigger two Netherspite Historians early on, it's quite possible you could have Ysera by turn 4. Not a guarantee, but that could be Concede-inducing.

So like a 6-mana "Deal 2, if Dragon deal 4" would be more better? Dealing 6 damage to all enemy minions is crazy good; Flamestrike is 7 for 4.. I'm also feeling less and less happy about my Dragon Legendaries, and you kind of hit on my feeling. I was researching Ysera and the Dragons of Nightmare earlier, and I've already thought of some more lore-appropriate iterations.
