I do not have Giggling Inventor, but I've never had an issue dealing with it either. It has a tech card, anyway.
Furthermore, it is a good stall versus aggro decks which makes matches a little longer. They make a great neutral card that does well verses aggro, because "nobody likes to lose by T5...." And people are screaming for a nerf.
It's just such a good card nothing can really compete in that mana slot defensively. Multiple bodies make silence/single target removal an inefficient way to deal with it, divine shields protect it from aoe and make it soak four attacks minimum if it has to be traded weakening/stalling enemy board, 2/1 is great to trade with, synergy with decks that want minions to stick, synergy with decks that want to go wide.
I think with two very strong counters it won't need a nerf. Aggro have blood knight and midrange/control have mossy horror, both solid cards on their own (maybe blood knight a bit less so) that will punish you for playing this card.
I have to say figuring out the perfect way to deal with the minions to prevent magnetic and Fungalmancer shinanigans is pretty fun! A board full of small minions can trade really well into it, making him a passable speed bump, just like Sludge Belcher used to be.
*xyz card is needs nerf* *grabs popcorn waiting for angry and annoyed comments*
just another day on Hearthpwn.
ps. no it doesnt. Its a card that makes 2 annoy trons to annoy aggro. Otherwise its just a decent 5 drop. I mean did sludge belcher need one back when he was prime 5 mana aggro wall?
At 5 mana I don't think it needs a nerf. However, it's very potent in Rogue decks running Sonya. I run it in my Pogo Rogue and often get players conceding when I replay it for 1 mana after ramming the original minion, sometimes before I even play the first Pogo. But hey, that kind of interaction is part of the game, and all strong decks work by exploiting a synergy between 2 or more cards.
Giggling is slowing down the entire meta. That's why midrange is becoming the new aggro.
It seems every deck is turning into pre-Boomsday + 2 Giggling Inventor. It's kind of stupid.
Quest Rogue is a hated deck that gets a huge boost by Giggling. Bigger boost than other decks (because everyone is running it now).
This is my biggest complaint. The boomsday cards are just not seeing play. The best decks barely run any of them.
Odd Warrior admittedly is a "new" archetype which does use some mech cards.
But it's really disappointing that the meta has not changed a great deal and this one card is everywhere. No single card should be so prevalent. I'd like to see something done, although it's hard to say if increasing the cost to 6 mana is the right answer. I just don't know.
YES!!! it needs a Nerf, How hard is it to see that it does. Its ridiculous, It cannot be debated. Saying it's not game breaking is telling everybody that "yeah i am one of the 85% of people who run this card in deck. It absorbs way too much damage, which turns it into a game changer, which is also saying game breaker when its played in every top tier deck.coupled with effects that are in the game now to generate more copies of the card, and like was previously mentioned, it's one of a few select cards even played from Boomsday...and its run by EVERYONE. does it need a Nerf. You bet it does. it will get one too. guaranteed
if a card sees >50% playrate is certainly a problem , much like the ragnaros / azure drake problem , whatever your deck does you would run x2 of it because it's just too good on all sides , and also dark pact got nerfed despite it having a tech against it (geist)

I don't agree there. Cards like Fireball, Hellfire, Shadow Word: Pain, Equality, Brawl, etc all see >50% play rate as well, with most of those cards actually seeing more play than giggler. Now given that it doesn't make much sense sense that giggler should be nerfed on that criteria when a couple dozen class cards are not rotated or nerfed due to the the same status.
For anybody on Hearthpwn with any semblence of common sense.... do not worry, this card IS getting nerfed. give it a couple of weeks for Blizzard to get the data... then bye bye Inventor.
would you run shadow word pain in an aggressive deck? same goes for hellfire ,brawl etc... they might be too good for one archetype (control or combo or aggro) but im i going to put giggling in my aggressive deck to protect my other minions and get a sticky board with Fungalmancer ? sure! , im i going to put it in my combo deck to stall the game to get my combo pieces? sure! , im i going to put in my control deck to stop the aggression and get more turns to get to my big minions / aoe? sure!

With the exception of Brawl, all of the cards you listed are Basic cards and their play rate doesn't matter. Basic cards are never going away, and it's good that some Basic class cards are strong, as it secures class identity.
Giggling Inventor sees play in most decks right now because it's strong in the meta. Once enough Mossy Horrors and Blood Knights are teched in, I suspect GI to drop significantly and only see play in certain decks that make the most use out of it.

Yes, the card is so good almost every deck(save even decks) ask themselves "Can i add giggling?" when deckbuilding, the only really clear answer is mossy, which giggling basically forces a lot of decks to run(luckily it also shits on spreading, so its not that bad to run it) and if you don't have mossy, it always ends up forcing awkward trades.

personally i think zoo and odd rogue are way bigger problems than GI. the only reason GI is in evry deck is becuz of the broken aggro decks right now. ODD Paladin, Odd Rogue, Zoo Warlock etc.... all of these are slowed down a little by GI.
Oh, and now Odd Rogue uses Blood Knight for crazy swings. 3 mana 12/12 etc....

The card itself is not OP. I am perfectly fine with it. The only complaint I see is it gets used a lot because its good in both aggro and control decks. It is like Tar Creeper. It's only crime is being a good neutral card. So the question to be asked is since neutral cards can be used by any classes, should blizzard make every neutral card suck?

Well, Odd Rogue, Odd Paladin, and some Zoo, play GI too. I'd even say GI is one of the strongest card in Odd Rogue (almost guaranteed 2 targets for fungalmancer next turn is HUGE).
I think GI should be a defensive card for control/combo decks, but right now it's so good it is also a great agressive option...
GI stats could be approximated as 2/1 + 2*1/2 + 2*1/1 for "trade" value of stats, because divine shield are basically 1-health, but also add an extra 1-attack due to (without spells/tech) wounding 2 minions before dying. This means a simulated total of 6/7 worth of stats for 5-mana.
A small nerf that would make it less viable for aggro, but still as playable for defense, would be to make the GI itself 1/1 instead of 2/1 (5/7 worth of stats seems more fair, since it's vulnerable to blood knight, mossy horror, and aoe compared to a single 5/7 minion).
I do not have Giggling Inventor, but I've never had an issue dealing with it either. It has a tech card, anyway.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Without Giggles, Zoo would be too powerfull. There are plenty of counters to it as well.....Mossy Horror , Blood Knight, Wild Pyro etc....
I like to build decks that counter whats popular in the meta alot. So getting a 3 mana 9/9 Blood Knight is fine by me.
I think we people taking more risks with there deck building so we dont face the same meta decks for another few months.
However, there is also a case for rotating cards in and out periodically to shake up the meta more often.
Next month, no Divine Shields can be played, or whatever change u can think of to keep it rotating and fresh.

This card is balanced enough already.
