I'm willing to reiterate the initial post. Prince Keleseth is just awful. I don't mind cards that have powerful late game application, such as ultimate infestation or reno jackson. Those are fine, because they come down much later and have their own drawback which needs to be played around. You can often tell if they're holding an infestation due to the usage of cards, trying to get below 5, or if they have reno based on their willingness to take damage.
Keleseth comes down turn 2 and effects the game immediately, increasing the win percentage of the deck immensely. There's no way on earth to play around it. There's no way on earth to build a board or play differently to counteract it. If you're control all of a sudden your removal is less effective and their burn is better. If you're tempo or aggro, suddenly they have a permanent board advantage. This card needs a much, much bigger drawback than it currently has. But that's basically impossible given the design constraints on the card.
In summary, they've made a card that is no fun to play against, massively increases their win percentage from simply playing it on turn 2 and furthermore one that they are going to have real trouble nerfing since the effect, and even stats are in built to the card. Best solution off the top of my head? Make his text read gain +1 attack. That way the game is affected, but removal works and trading can still occur as per usual.
Barnes. Pretty simple and not very interesting mechanic, enables a ton of extremely powerful and broken shenanigans. Play it on turn 4 in big priest and you immediately win the game 80% of the time. May be even higher than that, idk.
You should see how much better Big Preist is doing without Barnes....
The res mechanic is more of a problem, and extremely polarizing. Yet it's a staple mechanic for preist.
Im a bit comfused... when I read worst design, I thought of cards that are so bad that actually harm you when you play them but people seem to be talking about what they think was broken OP.
If we are talking about worst design as in, NEVER play this, ever, not even for memes, Moorabi . There are cards like Millhouse and Duskfallen Avianna but both of them are consciously terrible, as in, the designer went for a very high risk-ok reward card, kind of taunting you to play it if you have the balls. On the other hand, Moorabi is the pinacle of a half-assed archetype that could never work, introduced in one of the most broken and lame metas the game ever saw. You can't even play him for his body in arena because he is understatted. If he was a mage card, he would be ok, slow but potentially good. In shaman he is just a failed experiment no one cared about. I play almost every day and I don't think I've ever seen him played.
If we are talking about broken... I agree that MSOG was the absolute worst meta ever and I actually quit the game during it and came back just before KOTFT. I'd say Jade Idol bit since I came back a little bit before gheist was introduced, no. There have been many sick and oppressive cards that got fixed, like the Undertaker who still haunts my dreams but I think Mysterious Challenger is the card that triggered me the most throughout the years of playing hs. It always seems like the paladin who is supposed to be a good guy get's the most scumbag cards lmao.
Moorabi was okay and creative, it's just they didn't push hard enough to make it freeze shaman viable like they're doing to mechs right now.
I agree that MSOG was the worst one, even I quitted too. Not a fan of Dirty Rat, Brann Bronzebeard, and MCT.
Is this a "bad card design" thread or a "complain about how people are posting broken cards" thread? Balance is an integral part of card design and arguably the most important one considering the impact it has on your overall enjoyment of the game. The majority(NOT every) of cards posted in this thread are poorly designed, so trying to discredit people because they either post a) a card from a deck you like to play; or b) a card they hate(the amount of people hating on said cards goes to show how poorly designed some of them are) is just stupid.
Duskfallen Aviana: There is no way for this card to ever see play because anything that could cheat it out could just cheat out something that doesn’t help your opponent. I can’t understand what Blizzard was planning for this card.
By far Shudderwock that card quite literally restricts the design space for Shaman and Neutral Battlecry cards in the future, every good battlecry card that blizzard prints could be extremely problematic with this card, the card makes a solid tier 2 deck that steam rolls every control deck and has a chance against aggro due to all the board clears it can pack, the deck is a control killer with just Saronite Chain GangZola the Gorgon, Lifedrinker and Grumble, Worldshaker, now imagine if shaman gets some more good battlecries? This card also restricts the ability for blizzard to print good board control for shaman (On any form, AoE or a minion like Despicable Dreadlord) cause if the bad match-ups for Shudder shammy are all the aggro board-centric decks then giving it more board clears is making this deck unbeatable, if the deck virtually wins every control match-up and then you give them the opportunity to be consistent at running aggro out of resources then you're making the perfect deck. This card will 100% get nerfed later down the road, specially cause it still has 1.5 years on the standard meta.
Skulking Geist. What a stupid fucking card. It punishes too many different decks and uses a mechanic that hearthstone team said they wouldn’t use. Way to stick to your guns guys..

Hopefully I never have to see this card in wild.
Carnivorous Cube.
Just doesn't fit hearthstone right, just enable some broken combo.
I like elementals and totems.

I'm almost thinking Zillax right about now.
The card is causing Shadowboxer to be nerfed.
Zillax still creates another powerful combo with Glinda & Mechwarper.
It should be a red flag when you have to consider nerfing TWO cards just to release one mech.
barnes dirty mana cheater sob dont u know fairplay cmon
Jade Idol and Kingsbane.
I can agree on this one

TC: Funny thing for you to say considering you were shilling a Keleseth deck yourself for a while.

I guess it's less fun when others kick your ass with him. :P
Funny thing about Keleseth though.... In the original reveal discussion thread (https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/196619-new-legendary-card-reveal-prince-keleseth), Keleseth was voted by most to be a crappy card. :P
This community never ceases to be full of people with zero cognitive creativity.

I think Zilliax won't work with Glinda, if he's played as a Magnetic buff (someone said The Darkness doesn't get echo, so it might be same mechanism)
I left hearthstone
I agree with what dog said yesterday/today, Carnivorous Cube was a mistake. lol
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

Kill Command reigning worst designed art since August 2013.
