In all honesty ill keep the dust in case Blizzard hall of fame card's so you make dust. Craft the HOF card in gold then dust them if you own the normal ones =dust profit.
But how does that work? Lest suppose Alexstrasza gets HoFd, I should craft her in normal and Gold (Since I don't own her) and I would get 1600+3200 (from those 2) + 1600 (if I DE the golden one)? Seems like a big hole in the pocket for Blizzard honestly
If own both you get the refund on the one that cost the most dust. this is also limited to playable copies. So you get 3200 for the gold but wont for nolmal one.
So lets take ice block as an example you own 3 normal and 1 golden.
so what will happen you will get 1600 for your 1 golden and 400 for the normal one and you keep all the cards so you can also dust them after they are HOF'ed. That is how it worked last time.
So how do you make dust out of it? craft the golden's if you own the normal one.
This is incorrect! I even crafted both golden Ragnaros the Firelord and Sylvanas Windrunner last time, but in fact, I effectively payed 1200 dust to upgrade my cards to golden compared to doing nothing.
When cards are HOFed, you only get dust for the cards you can actually play in a deck, prioritizing goldens. If you have more than one copy of legendaries and more than 2 of anything else, you will not get anything for your extra cards, golden or not.

What happend last time i had an sylvanas so i carfted an golden sylvanas and golden rag when they got hall of famed i got 6400 dust back i dusted my golden sylvanas so i got 8000 dust back in total. I netted up 1600 dust and got an free golden rag out of the deal.
Besides it exactly what said. in my example you had normal 3 iceblock and 1 golden (so 4 in total) you only got your dust back for 2 since 1 was golden you get 1600 for that one and you get dust back for 1 of the normal ones.
You were thinking in terms of legendary cards i used an epic in my example.
Lets go on with my example you own 0 iceblocks you have enough dust to craft 1 golden and 2 normal iceblocks.
You craft them for 2400 dust. When the move to hall of fame happens you will get back 2000 dust since you have 1 extra copy an 3de normal one you wont get dust on. you dust your golden icebock but wont be up extra dust but will have 2 free iceblocks so it would be pointless to craft the golden one. you would be at the same spot if you just crafted 2 normal ones. Now lets assume you craft 1 normal and one golden iceblock you will get back 2000 dust if you dot dust the cards after this you basically just got an free golden and normal iceblock but if you just dust both after the move you scored 500 dust if you dont plan on playing or using them in wild.
So what does Hall of fame do? it lets you craft cards for free. So you only get dust if you only own the cards already and you have the dust to craft the golden ones and you dont own the golden cards. so hall of fame rewards players that own cards. if i own 2 golden iceblocks ill get 3200 dust no investment needed. Also pls note you need to own the card before the move happens it not like an nerf were you get an few days of free dusting.
now lets assume tomorrow blizzard announce iceblock is being hall of famed you craft your 2 iceblocks if you dont have them play with them until the move happens. And then dust or dont dust them depending on what you do with wild card at worse you got 2 free iceblocks. If you dust wild cards you just scored 200 dust if your an duster and you crafted 2 golden ones your up 800 dust.
Rhok'delar, how fun is this card? I'm sitting on ~8k dust and have mostly everything else from KnC that I want except for this one. Im playing Big Hunter at the moment, would be nice to have another Hunter variant to play with.
Rhok'delar is extremely fun. That is the weapon i got fro the expansion start, I immediately made a spell hunter deck and while the win rate hovers around 50% its not really good for climbing but it's by far the most fun deck i've played this expansion. I also packed a Lynessa and was thinking of making quest/buff pally for the meme but it's a lot of dust for a deck that will never gain a lot of traction
Yup, I got this in my set of 50 packs (Kingsbane was my free class legendary) and have a lot of fun with Rhok'delar. Who knows maybe the next expansion will make this more viable on the ladder but it's a super fun deck to play. Always look forward to hunter related daily quests because of it.
Slow response on my part. Ended up crafting Rhok'delar, super fun card. Very happy with my decision. Thanks for your insights on the card, might not have crafted it otherwise.
Spent some gold on some Un Goro packs hoping to snag the Paladin Quest...got beyond lucky and got it in gold. So I crafted Lynessa to go along with it. Second game:

In my case, what made me lose dust on my crafting was missing out of the dust I would get from my normal copies of the legendary cards. You can only really make a profit if you don't have any copies before, and DEing before the HOF is a waste as well. Unfortunately HOF cards are very popular to craft, so it does not apply to that many people.
Blizzard knows this, and will probably not HOF any epic cards. The real winners are the people who opened copies in packs! They make the same profit and get to keep the cards...

Sounds great, but reality is that you don't make ANY profit on crafting and then dusting golden copies unless you didn't yet own any copies of the card.
Has been calculated by many people last year and unless your calculations are flawed, thats what happens.
example: you have sylvanas and it is HoF'ed
option 1: You don't do anything, when she gets HoF'ed, you get 1600 dust.
option 2: You craft a golden one: cost 3200 dust You then own a normal and a golden one so get 3200 dust when it HoF's Then you DE the golden one and you get 1600 dust for it -3200 + 3200 + 1600 = you get 1600 dust
Net result of option 1 vs option 2 = identical.
Option 3: You craft a golden and dust all Golden Sylvanas: -3200 dust On HoF you get 3200 dus After HoF you DE both and get 1600 + 400 = 2000 dust Net result: -3200 + 3200 + 1600 + 400 = 2000 dust
Option 4: You do nothing but DE the normal Sylvanas after HoF'ing. no investment You get 1600 dust on HoF You get 400 dust on DE after HoF Total: you get 2000 dust
Net result of option 3 vs option 4 2000 vs 2000 EXACTLY the same again.
I'm fine with you trying to fool yourself into thinking you made a profit and be happy about it, but please don't try to fool others into wasting a lot of time on gaining nothing at all. Ah well, the good part is...at least people who follow the "great advise" don't lose any dust...
edit: i do think i remember it did work for the common cards, you could make 10 dust per copy on crafting golden versions of those as they gave 50 dust instead of the 40 cost of a normal one.
Lots of updates to the guide. The nerfs have quite an inpact, and the complicated part is working out which cards are GAINING from the nerfs (the Warlock cards were in high tiers already.)

Why did you put Kazakus same tier with Edwin? Deck has lower winrate but Edwin is staple in Miracle rogue. At the other hand there is no current deck archetype to benefit from Kazakus. I think Kazakus is tier 3. Ofc in standart
Not yet, he might be a tier 2 now, but a lot of decks love that extra 1-1 pirate.
About Kazakus, he is basically a Wild only card now, but a clear tier 1 as such. I even considered to move him to the Wild part already as the gap is so big... I have problems placing him right!

You are right i ignored something very important if you already own the normal card then you would get dust.
But it still doesn't change 2 fact, both you also completely ignored.
1) if you dont have the card you get to craft it for free. -1600+1600 or -3200+3200
2)You will make dust if you plan to dust wild cards and you dont own the card. In Sylvanas case last year you dont own her(gold or normal) craft her in gold you would have earn 1600 dust. you get refunded your 3200 dust and then get 1600 when you dust her its all upside as long as you have dust. Gold -3200+3200+1600=1600 vs normal -1600+1600+400=400
So no reason not to save up dust to craft cards in case something gets HOF at worse you got to carft cards you didnt own for free and no dust lost.
So its 100% not wrong to save up dust in case something get hall of famed. which go back to the 1st question were i said save dust in case something gets hall of famed.
So very intrigued by the OTK Pally deck but missing auctionmaster...do you guys think I should craft it? Only have like 3200k dust but will have 5000 gold saved for the next expansion.

Literally crafted Velen two days before the Raza nerf was announced as I had everything else and thought I'd play it for the next few months - ah well. One trivial thing I've noticed is that Xaril is listed under Journey to Un'goro instead of Whispers.

Good thing Velen is a classic and therefor shouldn't rotate out. He did show up every now and then in the past to.
And about Beardo, i'm thinking about it to and so far i'm choosing not to despite dust not being an issue with me. But its tempting when i see a Thijs stream....

I would put Raza the Chained on 2. OTK Reno Priest is still very very viable in wild
I am sorry to break this to you, but no, it isn't, the winrate went to shit after the nerf in both modes.
The crafting guide is made for standard with some comments for Wild. If anyone finds a good Raza deck in Wild, I will post a note about it, and move the card to a higher level when the rotation happens. FYI, as the list will be too long to be practical, the Wild cards will probably be moved to a separate post.
Packed Hemet, Jungle Hunter, Elise the Trailblazer, and Prince Valanar are any of them of use/look to be of future use because they are part of the current standard and won't rotate till 2019 or would they be safe to DE?
Elise the Trailblazer is a viable option in slower control decks that don't have a good class-specific 5 drop and it can be pretty fun to design a deck around Hemet, Jungle Hunter, but I've yet to find a use for Prince Valanar and I had him when he was actually seeing play in tempo rogue. The problem with him is that a vanilla statted minion with taunt and lifesteal doesn't offer that much upside, especially compared to the permanent 1+1 throughout your whole deck that Prince Keleseth offers or the discounted Faceless Manipulator effect that Prince Taldaram can offer. At best, he is a decent healing option in a rogue deck (most other classes would never give up their class-specific four drops for him). The worst part about him to me is that building a deck around him doesn't even guarantee that his effect triggers... I've had The Darkness dropped on me more than once before I have been able to drop him, and the candles that are shuffled into your deck completely nullify his battle cry. I normally warn against disenchanting all legendaries, but in the case of Valanar, I certainly wouldn't hold it against you.
Onyxia will probably not see play anytime soon. A golden one means you get a free legendary of your choice, another legendary will definitely be better. Still, don't dust her yet. Wait for the new coming meta after next rotation in late March or early April.
When cards are HOFed, you only get dust for the cards you can actually play in a deck, prioritizing goldens. If you have more than one copy of legendaries and more than 2 of anything else, you will not get anything for your extra cards, golden or not.

You don't do anything, when she gets HoF'ed, you get 1600 dust.
You craft a golden one: cost 3200 dust
You then own a normal and a golden one so get 3200 dust when it HoF's
Then you DE the golden one and you get 1600 dust for it
-3200 + 3200 + 1600 = you get 1600 dust
You craft a golden and dust all
Golden Sylvanas: -3200 dust
On HoF you get 3200 dus
After HoF you DE both and get 1600 + 400 = 2000 dust
Net result: -3200 + 3200 + 1600 + 400 = 2000 dust
You do nothing but DE the normal Sylvanas after HoF'ing.
no investment
You get 1600 dust on HoF
You get 400 dust on DE after HoF
Total: you get 2000 dust
