This is an inverted Doomsayer. You mark something for destruction. If your opponent doesn't do something with the time they're given, you are rewarded for their lack of concern for the game. You define how they spend their mana for that turn. You define where attacks/spells are chosen/cast. It's a twisted tool. You quite literally shape how people play because of this card.
Why anyone would think this is bad is beyond me. This card is great.

If you can't attack with it on the turn you gain control of it it's totally garbage, but I doubt that's the case.
hmm not sure on this one, will only work if your opponent is unable to trade the minion off or silence it on his turn, otherwise just a waste of 6 mana, honestly I think mind control is just straight up better.

Not sure why this card is named "Embrace Darkness" - shouldn't it be "Embrace the Light" since you are joining the Priest side (which is associated with light)?
Would be much cooler if a card named "Embrace Darkness" actually changed all your Hero Power and Priest cards to Warlock HP/cards, given that it is the opposite of Renounce Darkness...
Because the Shadow Priest corrupts the minions' mind and makes it change allegiance.

That's kind of the point behind each individual card having a sense of balance. If you're not trying to win, you likely won't. Why balance cards if no one's going to try thinking how best to use those cards? Let's just make 0 mana 99/99 minions with no drawback. Also, Taunt has been changed to waste space in a deck and not help people. Also, spells are 11 mana each now.
It's interesting, but before you get hyped up too much, consider this: Not only do you have to wait a turn for taking control of the minion, but after that turn you have to wait ANOTHER turn until you can attack with the minion you stole... That's how it should work out given how Mind Control and Alarm-o-Bot work. They might add the unwritten Charge of Shadow Madness and Potion of Madness, then Embrace Darkness becomes a bit better.

I don't think an official clarification is necessary. You take control of the minion on the start of your turn. As Long as it doesn't have Charge, it is affected by Exhaustion (the dizziness "zzzz"). Anything else would be very strange.

I'll give you the wording. But I doubt they have Charge. Potion of Madness and Shadow Madness do not work if they don't give the minion Charge. Embrace Darkness changes the owner. But yeah, you shred sopme doubt on my view...

worst case, it's 6 mana "make your opponent kill their own minion in any inefficient way". Played in the right situation, that's not really the worst thing ever. You have to be smart about it, and I think that glacial shard, for example, is a nice combo with it.
Also Cabal Shadow Priest use the word "take" instead of "gain" so there is consistency until now. If the minion can attack the turn you gain control of it then it's even better than I thought
Yeah, man, this type of argument really makes me pop a veign. Just like they said about Maelstrom Portal, "Arcane Explosion doesn't see any play so Maelstrom Portal won't see any play either". Like, WTF?!
There's an even better comparison by Trump: "Why play Dr. Boom when its just a War Golem with 2 Silver Hand Recruits"; I paraphrase but the point is crystal clear at the very least.

When you play this you cannot have minion on the board and this is easier to counter with silence and bounce cards other issue is you cannot use this on below 6 mana worth of minions or you will lose huge value.
Mind control is way better it might be 10 mana but it gives immediate results imagine that there is a C'thun with 25/25 stats this card cannot save you but Mind Control will save you
Unless we get more late game value cards like Ysera or powerful deathrattles on the level of Tirion Fordring/Sylvanas Windrunner I doubt this card will see play.... It would need a really really slow meta to work.....
Good against Priest,assuming they have something worth stealing.....
Might be ok against Control Shaman but that Deck has never been good at least in Standard....
Useless against Rogue....
Good luck doing nothing on turn 6 against Pirates and surviving....
As of now useless against Warlock...
It's good against 2 classes out of 9 and even against them it's not better than Mind Control.... I kinda like it cause it reminds me of Sylvanas Windrunner but I don't think it'll have that much impact on the meta....
People compare it to corruption and say because its the same it will never be used... but im pretty sure that if corruption was a priest spell instead of a warlock spell it would see play!

This card is potentially really strong and I think you'll be forced into playing around it quite often.

Sylvanas wasn't too slow to be played. This effect is very much the same, but with a guaranteed hit on the target you prefer.
