As the title says, do you suggest disenchanting the old expansion cards such as Reno Jackson or Ragnaros (Even tho he isn't included in an expansion), and all those cards? Or will you just keep them in case you feel like playing some Wild games or just to make your collection feel a little wider?
Yeah well, I'd trade 4 old/bad games for a brand new one, the main idea is that one new legendary card may help you win some games while the old ones, well, you may never even play them.
Before the expansion I would have said no...but right now Wild has gone completely broken nuts to the point where I just can't bother. So now I'm debating on dusting Rag and Windrunner because unlike the last meta, this one isn't encouraging me to jump ship. I'm realizing now that putting those cards in Wild was a smart move. Right now, it looks like Priest is just that much better than everything else anyway. It's almost as if their quest was made for Wild. Let them have it. Fuck that noise.
Keep in mind, this is coming from a compulsive duster because I always want to play the new shit. I don't regret it though. I've had my fun with Dr. Boom and Reno and I stopped using them long before I dusted them. That goes for Rag and Windrunner too.
I try to disenchant rotated cards as little as possible. I only disenchant them if 1) I have extra copies, 2) the card is objectively worse than other alternatives I already have, or 3) the card is for a playstyle I am absolutely certain I'll never want to play. But even then I'll only consider disenchanting if I'm starved for dust and have run out of other options to get some.
Dust Rag and some more cards and get the Warrior Quest instead, I did that, and if you are able to build a deck around this quest, it's pretty decent. I've actually got my Tempo Warrior Deck from Thisj so in case you are interested, just hit me up
TL;DR: Do you guys always dust cards cycling out of standard? Or is wild format the place to play?
For those (~3 people) wondering about the background of my question: Fairly new player here (currently level 13 in ranked) and a priest main if such a thing existsI even started back when everyone said it was the weakest class by far. I can't help it, it's the most fun class to me. D:
So far I play exclusively standard format mainly because I only heard of this game last year and wild format has like a bazillion cards I don't know, so I feel like standard is the place for newbs to be at. I spend all my dust last season to make a dragon priest following the deck recommendations here, but this expansion basically killed it. So I spend all my dust once again to do one of the Un'Goro Control Priest decks. It works, and I am happy. The prime problem is solved. :3
But I would like to experiment with an elementar-mage (among others) for the sake of learning to properly build a deck and because I also like the mage control nature. But I feel like I need one whole season to farm dust for the next season in case it kills me my priest once again.
So "is it safe" to dust all circled out stuff or should I keep it because later on wild might be the more fun place? I dunno.
It doesn't help that I am one of these "what if I need it in the future"-people that never dusts cards unless I got excessive ones. It sounds like a no brainer "you only play standard, dust old cards NAO!" but dunno, I am afraid I might underrate wild because I can't really judge it yet? :\
Off topic: I wanna thank the whole community for this place. The admins for the awesome deck/card/news-place and the players for explaining stuff and actually using the card-name-linking-thingy of this website. THAT is awesome for newbs like me. All of you keep it up! (°u°)b
I just keep all my cards because I like collecting them and ofc play Wild too, I wouldnt dust your wild cards if I were you.
Yeah that's my thing as well. I am the collectionist-type player that needs all the stuff in games. I do dust gold cards tou, unless I don't have the regular version OR in rare cases of reaaaaally liking the card. Like, I would neverdust a golden Sylvanas Windrunner.
I'm surprised the first reactions were of players that keep the stuff.
yes, only kept Reno for if I want to play a Reno deck in the Tavern Brawl. Never played Wild so I didn't see any reason to keep them. Plus I'll use the extra dust for new decks. :)

*Sorry for my english
Nah. Always good for brawls and future adventures anyway.

Keep the rotated cards, it is not worth to dust them, believe me.
Dead but dreaming
You never know when cards become useful, Moroes is a good example :P

Check out my OTK chargfury shaman deck.
Disenchant any rotated extras. Keep at least 2 of everything, except Leggies of course. Disenchant any garbage rotated Leggies.

Thinking about that, what's your definition of a garbage leggie?
