I can see some crazy wild deck with executus, (who sets your life to 8) then playing amara to set it to 40 again so you have ragnaros throwing fireballs at 40 health. (hard to achieve I know but worth the pain if you can pull it off even once) alexstrasa also sets your life to 15.. which works after executus has summoned rag/
This card will be great when comboed with Major Domo. As long you're not dead on the turn after you play it you can kill it and then set yourself to 40 health with rag hero power. That's the deck I'll be making.
While I do like the card it has a serious flaw compared to the other quests. It doesn't set up a win condition, the only defensive quest reward among all the quests. That might be because the quest has excellent synergy with N'Zoth, the Corruptor so the devs didn't bother to give priest another one.
Would have loved a 10 mana card that dealt 30+ damage to your hero and if you survived you dealt the same amount of damage to the other hero. Pretty much a 2 turn combo which can be countered by burning the priest down to below the safe life treshold. The Dark Star. Great synergy with Awaken the Makers as well as a win condition that is tied to the quest reward. Would be a lot more fun that building a N'Zoth, the Corruptor deck and then putting in the quest because you are already playing deathrattle minions.
After I see all deathrattle card, I don't think this quest card will work very good. It so slow and deathrattle minion don't have very good attack also.
How does this interact with Reno? When you have an Auchenai Soulpriest on the board or an Embrace the Shadow active, Reno deals exactly 30 damage, implying that it does not heal by you by all the health you are missing, rather it heals you by 30, which is always enough to heal you back to full. If you were on 5 health and had played Amara, Warden of Hope, I believe that currently it would only heal you back to 35. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You would be on 40 since it sets your health to 40 which is different from healing. Works exactly as Alexstrasza.
This is the only quest card I believe will see a lot of play other than the mage and warrior ones. If anyone needs a good starter deck for Un'Goro's release, I worked on this for an hour or so. Enjoy!
Fun fact: if you rearrange the letters in Amara, Warden of Hope (anagram), you get "Whore of a damp arena." True story! This clearly means Blizzard built some speculation about Arena impact into the name of the card. :-D
Also, the art seems to be a celebrity reference: Michael Jackson makes an appearance in Hearthstone Amara, Warden of Hope!
Not sure if it's poor coding or poor wording on blizz's part, but there was an Auchenai Soulpriest on my board and I figured playing my Amara, Warden of Hope wouldn't kill me because her wording very clearly says "Set" not "heal" but alas I took -40 to the face and lost the match. I had assumed it would behave more like Alexstrasza
This is actually working well for me in Wild. With Reno you can heal to 40 twice, and the quality of deathrattle minions is much higher in Wild. Very high win rate against midrange and control. Still struggling against very aggressive decks, but no deck can be good against everything I guess.

2 x Mirage Caller + Mistress of Mixtures for turn 5 Amara, Warden of Hope, insta win against Pirates.
My bad, MC is not deathrattle card.

Anyone know if the Adapt with Deathrattle contributes to this quest?

Seems ok.

Warning: High dust-cost deck
