New cards are great and all, and I love how much fun Prince Malchezaar could bring to the game. Here's the problem...
I used to play League of Legends a bit. One thing I always wondered is if Riot could release a champion of some kind that has such a good ability that he becomes an auto include on every team. I pondered quite a bit on this topic, and now with this new card coming out, I'm seeing a problem...
Those of us who don't own the card, when it finally comes out, will we see it as an issue, that people who run Prince Malchezaar will automatically have an upper hand? People who run the card seriously will likely be playing with a control deck that can deal with faster decks with no issue. The game starts, and your opponent will eventually have five cards more than you at all times if you don't have Prince Malchezaarin your deck. Isn't this an issue? You're avoiding 15 points of fatigue that your opponent won't be able to avoid, and you have more to work with.
Am I the only one that sees this as an actual issue?
No, because of the downside of having Malchezaar in your deck. For every time the extra five cards win you the game in fatigue there will be at least two other times when some terrible legendary that you didn't put in your deck pops up and causes you to lose the game because you needed a board clear or a removal spell.
Whole bandwagon of people thinking this card is game defining and incredible, don't think there has been a card so vastly overrated out of the gate. There will be a huge swarm of people running him for the first 1-2 weeks then when people realize he's trash he will fall of the meta cliff.
Already named the cons on the card page don't feel like typing it all out again but in Constructed he's almost unplayable.
His "power" is not a bonus in most matchups. You'll weaken yourself to fast decks a lot by running him, and you'll weaken yourself to tempo from many heavier decks as well. Also, a lot combo decks and OTK decks will become stronger versus you.
If his power was that awesome, heavy decks wouldn't run draw / cycle - they'd run more legendaries. The days of fatigue decks are long gone, WoG killed the last of them.
i think this card is bad and detrimental to meta/strategy, its lazy and overly-rng reliant. I will be pissed if i lose to some dumb-luck great legendaries gotten off this card. Wish the devs spent more time on strategy and less on disco puns.
Here's the thing, how many matches have been decided purely by fatigue damage? Now, compare that to the amount of matches lost because you didn't draw a board clear, or drew a terrible card.
Although you get 5 extra cards, it means that you have less chance of drawing into useful cards such as a 2 drop on turn 2, removal cards such as Brawl ect. It's a high risk high reward card because the 5 cards could be 5 Lorewalker Cho or Millhouse Manastorm.
You play Prince Malchezaar when you are about to enter fatigue because the 5 random cards added to your deck reduces the chance you drawing your removal such as Brawl and your opponent by that time will used his removal on other cards.
That won't work, his effect comes into play at the start of the game. This is why he will suck against fast decks, as necessary removal will be drawn less often.

It will work, because it's been stated the card text will change to a Battlecry.

Source?
The card has a strong effect but it's a liàbility most of the time against aggro.

"Malchezaar's trigger is "At the start of the GAME", not start of turn. It triggers while its in your deck.
Thanks for tuning in! Excited to talk more about Karazhan and address everyone's questions once I get back from my trip. On to Australia!"
Okay, good thing we have that cleared up. I just remember it being mentioned in passing that it will be changed to a Battlecry. That kind of sucks that it won't be a Battlecry. Would've wanted to play Brann with him.
He's a bad card for many decks and against many match-ups. In a control vs. control scenario it can be pretty good. If you are playing zoo you are better running a streamlined 30 card deck than 35.
Against aggressive decks it can fill your hand with junk instead of answers. If a zoo player drops a board full of tentacles I want a lightning storm. Lorewalker Cho on my draw is just going to get me killed faster. Honestly I doubt it will be more than a tech card for tournaments. It will be a poor ladder card. It will be a great card for those newer players building a collection. It gives them lots of fun toys in their decks.

While I agree it might be weakening a lot of traditional decks (as I wrote earlier), we might see some new ones crop up. For value-decks this can be an interesting inclusion, for example value elise-mage running heavy on removal and yogg. Control decks used to be weak versus value decks prior to WoG, and we might see that state return.

I play Aggro. By the time they can use their legendary the game is over so not a problem.
Slow your horses! The card has to actually be good before it can become a problem. Even if it is good, your example is reminiscent of the late great Dr.Boom and I don't think there will ever be an auto include like Dr.7 was ever again.

Malchezaar is only good against Control, and is bad against any other deck that doesn't go to fatigue as he weakens consistency.
