I completely forgot about Evocation in the quest/control types but I don't reckon the current 48 damage for 8 cards Fireball flinging Cloud Prince copying secret mages will want to play with anything new because honestly I don't think much can beat that rn
Evocation is only good in burn decks. Once you run out of steam, it can give you enough fuel to finish your opponent. I can see it maybe being played in some slow (fatigue) highlander decks too. Everywhere else, it's a joker card that will sometimes give you outs and most of the times won't make any difference.
All top wild decks will still be competitive even without new cards, so if you play wild only, there's no point to spend money.

A single Evocation can complete the quest all on its own. Not to mention you can discover it from Magic Trick.
What turn do you think Evocation will even be useful? If you look closely, the card mentions that all spells it creates will be discarded at the end of your turn, so you only have one chance to use them. For most players, it won't be wise to play until turn 4, maybe turn 3. Most quest mages can blast through the quest anyway, so what does it matter if they add this card into their deck? It won't take any less time to complete the quest than it normally does. Will it be added to Wild decks? Probably, but it's not a meta shaker.

1. I can never be sure what will be tier 1, and what won't. My best guess is that everything will be business as usual, with DH have a decent T2 deck. However, take my opinion with a grain of salt, as I haven't really been watching the meta for the past year or so (was on hiatus).
2. As I said, it will have a good T2 deck, but T1? Not so sure.
3. The bundles are always the best deal for packs, so if you're looking to buy packs, purchase the bundle while you can.
Hey guys what's up I don't normally post but I have a couple things I want to gather wild ppl's opinions on:
- Do you think the meta will get shaken up a little with the new xpac or is mage still going to be everywhere?
- Do you think DH is going to be a stronk competitive class?
- Taking the above in mind, is it worth to preorder? (I have already saved 2000 gold :v)
Thanks :)
I don't think the new expansion will have a large impact on Wild, but I'm cautious with making predictions because some developments come unexpected. From what it looks like, Mage is getting a good deal stronger with Evocation helping both the regular Quest Mage and Highlander Quest Mage quite a bit. In addition, Highlander Mage might find some room for Astromancer Solarian, while Secret Mage could reasonably consider using Netherwind Portal. The decklist is already quite optimised, but it's a Secret that allows for some more board presence, and could help against Priest. Speaking of Priest, Soul Mirror is possibly good enough to be added to the Highlander decklist, though it really makes no difference. The deck is already loaded with board clears. In short, all the Mage decks and Highlander Priest will likely stick around.
I think the classes most likely to change something are Shaman and Druid. Even Shaman can reasonably go against Mage, especially Quest Mage, but not so much against Priest, due to Priest's gameplan to never let a minion survive. While I'm not very optimistic, there's a small chance that Vivid Spores could help securing a board against removal and have enough power to push for lethal. It would also help against Highlander Mage, which can get overwhelmed, but only in the rare circumstances of its key cards not showing up in time. Having some insurance against Reno the Relicologist could improve that matchup. Druid is already benefiting from AoO thanks to Kael'thas Sunstrider, and the old Jade Idol build is transforming into a miracle/combo build. The heavy armor gain paired with burst potential allows it to go against Secret Mage and Reno Priest, but it struggles with the Mage quest, being generally too slow. The rest of the new expansion doesn't look too promising to improve Druid's chances overall, but maybe I'm underestimating the power of Overgrowth. If it accellerates the gameplan significantly enough to beat at least Quest Mage (if not Highlander), I could imagine that Mage and Priest are forced to change their gameplans, which would allow some other decks to rise.
I think Demon Hunter has close to no chance to make an impact in Wild. While the draw potential is impressive, I kinda doubt it's enough to present a consistent win condition. Combo tools like Altruis the Outcast are likely not strong enough yet, big demons take too long, and an aggressive build could try to imitate Pirate Warrior (which is decent), but probably takes too long to deal large amounts of damage. At best, I think Demon Hunter won't perform much better than Pirate Warrior as an aggressive deck that can attempt to push for lethal before Reno Jackson shows up: sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. If you were asking for Demon Hunter in general, and not just about Wild, I think it has a pretty good chance to be a strong class in Standard.
As for Pre-Order, it depends on you. If you don't care about Standard, I think you won't need a lot of packs from the new expansion, and not right away. So you could reasonably grind for Gold throughout the next few months without missing too much. Keep in mind that if you get to Diamond or Legend Rank, you'd get 4 or 5 packs for AoO at the end of each season. But if you want to enjoy some new stuff in Standard right away, 2000 is definitely not enough. I'd at least try to get all commons and rares, which requires roughly 60-70 packs.

- Now that they have Evocation and even more Secret synergy, I feel like there's going to be even more Quest and Secret Mages in Wild than before
- In Standard? For sure, it'll be completely broken, Wild? Hard to say, but it might be so strong it could even stand up to wild decks
- No, it never is.
Hey thanks for taking the time to reply

In death, I exact my revenge!
Do you not know how the quest works? Open the Waygate

Jade Druid farms secret mages but struggles against Quest Mages so pick your poison :P
Yes, I know about Quest Mage and I don't think that Evocation will make it any stronger.
But that's not the topic of this thread so let's agree that we disagree and wait and see :)

I think we're gonna see a lot of Odd Demon Hunter :x
