Just play in the dumpster rank in wild, i have more fun playing there. You still will encounter the occasional big priest but if they are really bothering you just play exodia mage with a polymorph instead of a arcane artificer and you can beat them almost 100% of the time.
Pretty much that!
Or you can also play casual mode if the stars are not your main goal and just hit "Concede" if you encounter a Priest
In the double-digit ranks of Wild you see a wide variety of decks. Oh sure, every now and then you see broken decks, especially earlier in the month.
Priest is my favorite class but I just can't bring myself to play Big Priest. That said, I've seen players just quit on turn one or two when facing me. I wish I could yell out "I'm only playing Silence Priest!"
The thing is that you can really destroy big priest with a face no brain deck and a little of luck. Would be nice if you beat every deck with every deck but that's not the rock, paper and scissors Hearthstone we know.
Just play 100% unadulterated face deck. You'll beat big priest 60-70% of the time by turn 5 or 6. If you don't, concede and move on. The side benefit is that you'll hopefully make them stop playing it :)

People are missing the point of this thread - it's not how good big priest is or how easy it is to beat, the problem is it's annoying as hell to play against it and personally, it completely ruins wild for me when every second deck I queue against is big priest.
Leave Big Priests alone. Who I'm gonna farm in Casual if they remove them?! :D
I play this game for moments like this:
Regarding Wild... I'm playing it so much recently that I almost forgot Standard exists (although the format is rather fine right now and has potential with more cards added in August). More diversity, more power, more sheneningians and more stuff to do.
There are like 30-40 detected decks and much more undetected. Some are played more than others, but it's still a fine experience for me. Big Priest is the only annoyance, but what can you do. Actually you don't need to do anything, just pass. Ignore. Or counter and kick their ass.
If you go Wild, be a man. You go to war not ballet. Be fearless, not fainthearted. You lose by an insane swing? Don't cry, just reload a game and do the same to another guy. To be real, I don't see WIld more of a problem than Standard. Standard is more unfair, because there sometimes one can't do anything about simplest problems, like Mage's Giants... Dr. Boom - a problem, not by itself, but because other classes suck at that particular department.
To enjoy Wild one needs to have a specific attitude towards it:
- Don't care about competitiveness, rank, climbing... Those are illusion. Play different decks with convoluted combos.
- Laugh. Be relaxed and phlegmatic; why be salty and angry in a game in which you already know rng shit happens? Ugly experienced defeat? It's just a defeat, nothing unexpected, forget it, move on... the next game you'll get lucky beyond belief even with shittiest deck and shittiest plays.
- Love power and strength. Nobody here (nor Blizzard) will make Wild a better place for you. Just adapt or leave.
- The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it.
- Enjoy experience of a single game.
- Play Causal and Ranked. Both are strong, but can have different metas.
- Off meta decks can do surprisingly well. They usually hard counter some of the best decks. There are many counters, especially to Big Priests.
For example, I played Shark Lackey Rogue deck recently. It was a joy to queue into Odd Paladins (10-1), I even did great vs. Big Priest (6-2). I don't think my deck counters it, but I just won most of those coin-flips. Note, I played mostly Paladins and Shamans, but in the last 11 matches - only one Odd Paladin. Sometimes you play a shit tone of them, sometimes they just disappear. *(stats are for last several days)
I'm in love with Reno Mage. It is not the best deck in Wild, but it sure is tons of fun. It has a good match-up against most aggro decks and against combo you can win with a well-timed Dirty Rat preferably alongside Brann Bronzebeard. Matches against other control decks are sometimes more of struggle, but as long as it is not Big Priest/Rouge or Dead Man's Hand Warrior or a mill deck, you should be good to go as the list I'm running is packed with an almost endless amount of value. I agree that Big Priests are really annoying, but with the right amount of patience, luck and skill you occasionally have a chance to beat them. Here is my version of Reno Mage:
Slightly offtopic: when I have the cards I would like to try adding Barista Lynchen for Echo of Medivh and experiment with Flame Leviathan. Other suggestions for changes are always appreciated of course.
I love reno warlock myself it's my favorite deck but often lose to big priest players who make play atrociously and sadly I am not able to counter them and lose a large % of my games as a result
Despite all the wise comments about attitude towards Wild, defeatability, etc.
The thing that makes Big Priest and Darkest Hour Warlock toxic is that they are perceived, and rightfully so, as decks pertaining a DIFFERENT GAME entirely.
It's ok in Wild Casual, you just concede before wasting time and effort, if you want. Or you go ahead and keep playing. You choose, nothing to lose anyway.
But Ranked should be based on an average EQUALITY of game mechanics.
There is no equality in coinflipping the entire game with a 3-card combo as soon as turn 5-6, or repeatedly vomiting out-of-the-curve minions.
(mass) Summoning for extremely cheap AND Resurrect from a place that is out of the direct reach of players (Graveyard). They are not normal mechanics.
> Those are flawed, broken mechanics, and should not be available in Ranked.
Despite their average winrate, decks that work in that way are generally called meme decks, and are only acceptable when they are no better than tier-4, and a very low population.
I quit Wild for this reason. Big Priest ruins the game and it is sad to see that Blizzard do not care about the format. You are a huge company, you can afford a team focusing on Wild...
And arrange some tournaments for gods sake... Why not a grandmasters Wild?

Feels bad to be the black sheep, ain't that?

100% agree

It's not rng if you call - Amaz
I don't play face decks just control and value stuff so the game has literally died for me its so depressing
What? You do realize Wild is in the game?

“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
They got killed by the nerfs though...
Always expect the unexpectable!
Careful what you wish for. It's pretty evident that Team 5 has very little knowledge of what Wild is at higher ladder ranks.
Asking them to fix Wild is akin to giving a hand grenade to somebody who wants something to throw into a giant septic tank for giggles.

Found person #2 who is literally incapable of reading past a thread title.
Possibly person #3 that doesn't understand deadpan humor.
I enjoy.
Found #4 who doesn't know the forum's rules.
Don't miss wild. Join wild. I just got legend this weekend in a very diverse meta.
It was a blast to play and a lot more versatile than the standard ladder.
Me too.
Love watchin Dane playing HS but it hurts always seeing him facing BP :(
