Evolve is SO BUSTED! It's crazy...this deck I posted there...I almost have the cards to make exactly this....but even without some cards like Thing from Below and Darkspeaker(which was questionable yeah :P) the deck is kicking ass! :O
What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
I've been play testing with a variant of your list, Seraph.
Evolve is a pretty good value card (and a fun RNG card). I probably wouldn't want to run 2 of them though. I don't find myself in that many situations where I have a ton of weakened minions. If I have strong board presence I'm already winning the game.
Where I found Evolve to be really helpful is to help you turn the game when you're losing or even match. For example, I was pretty dead in water versus a taunt cthun druid, had a weakened Fire Elemental, evolved it into Prophet Velen and Lightning Storm a board of 4 minions for 8 damage each. I don't know if Evolve is mandatory though, out of 15 games I only really used it once? and drew it like 3 times total. I'm not running Hallazeal the Ascended or Elemental Destruction though because I feel like it's too control for me.
Still play testing at around 500 Legend while the meta shifts to counter shamans.
I've tried to take advantage of these new evolution cards and i decided that there was no place for overload minions in this deck. Usually you are paying overload for a cheaper minion with better stats, however iv you evolve those minions it is a waste and you are stuck with overload. I have instead used some cards that will help fill up the board and use valuable battlecries so i can evolve them afterwards to get double value or more.
I haven't had a lot of luck with midrange evolve shaman, but having at least one Nerubian Prophet is crucial, I think. When I have won, it's usually from paying 2-3 mana for a cheap Prophet into evolve and getting a good 7 drop on turns 4-5.
Here is my version. Was away for end of last season, so I played this deck from 17 to 5 pretty smoothly this season (1 loss from ranks 10-5). This is a totem/evolve hybrid deck.
I think argent horseriders should be an interesting consideration for evolve shaman. I found them really good. I should probably play 1 shock and 1 feral instead of 2x shock. I don't think 4 mana 7 7 is that good for midrange, I think that card is more aggro oriented.
Well, looks like my deck's a bust. The Rumbling Elementals are too slow, and there's something of a logjam at the 4-5 slot.
Ahh, evolved a totem into Doomsayer today... that's always fun
