I still think Priest is fine. It's just not a reactive class that's all, that's why it doesn't do amazingly. Also anybody got the deck list for rez priest I want to try it out but can't find a list.
Insanely good priest cards: Shadow word Death, Shadow word Pain, Power word shield, Priest of the feast, Onyx Bishop, Ressurect (in this meta), Excavated Evil, Holy Nova, Northshire Cleric, Forbidden Shaping, Prophet Velen, Mind Blast, Flash Heal, Auchenai fucking soulpriest, Entomb, and a bunch more I didn't even bother with.
I'm sorry, how is this a bad class?!
Most of the cards you listed as "insanely good" are decent at best which invalidates the meat of your whole topic. Fact is, Priest has been bad and it's still bad. It's less bad, but still bad and if you need a source on that visit vicioussyndacate and review the statistics (the numbers don't lie). Are PoF and Bishop great cards? Yes, but you've got the same problem as before which is that if you don't draw a GREAT mulligan that allows you revive IBM's right on curve, you're going to get wrecked in most matchups. If your first minions are ones like Cleric/Pyro then your going to have some very crappy resurrects and Bishops, which pretty much makes the entire deck fall apart. Then if you decide to play nothing until you have good revive targets, you're going to get wrecked for 5 turns and finished off within the next few. Priest still has fundamental problems, ranging from a hero power that is often no use, to overcosted tech cards, to spells which are way too situational.
I could go on in detail all day but instead here's a basic point of reference; take Word Pain for instance. It is the equivalent of every other classes Frost Bolt, Quick Shot, Dark Bomb, Eviscerate, War Axe, Lightening Bolt etc. In all those cases you could stack a couple of them together or combine with something else to remove a big target, but not with Pain. Pain has no flexibility for being able to stack with anything else. Even more important, all those other cards can be used to push face dmg for the finish, except Pain can't. So a lot of times Priest is staring at an enemy with like 3hp and a shiteating grin, they might as well have 3000hp because it's nearly impossible to burst that even with a hand full of cards. Now take that same principle and apply it most of Priest's cards and you'll understand why they are usually so far behind other classes.
Just IMAGINE for one moment, a world where Frost Bolt and Fireball could ONLY be used on minions, not only that but minions with a very particular statline. Think about how insane of a difference it would make to Mage win rates in ladder. It's so ridiculous of a notion that you couldn' even fathom the class operating that way, yet this is exactly how Priest is.
That's akin to saying, How about a turn 1 innervate into Astral Communion greed deck that runs big legendaries in all slots. Sure, sometimes you get the "I win" hand but what about the rest of the time?
Purify and Volsaj aren't bad cards, they're just conditional.
Almost every priest card is conditional.
This means you need the right cards at the right time or you fold. You can get huge value from your cards if the conditions are met. Trading one board wipe for multiple of your opponents cards (and the mana to cast them), or one 3 mana spell for their huge bomb are both dreamy but what if you have swd and all they have is a wide board, or you have holy nova but staring down one tall minion threatening lethal. Feelsbadman.
This is the biggest problem with priest, along with the lack of playable, high toughness creatures available to them.
**Edit
I absolutely LOVE dragon priest with the two new cards. Rather than playing purely reactionary (which is so boring, and frankly not good in my opinion) you can actually lay a threat a turn like most other hearthstone decks, curving out is the name of the game. Expect to see a lot of dragon priest.

Sorry, I am 100% wrong. Priest never is able to do this, and Shaman has dr 4 on turn 4 in100% of games.
Carry on with your logical well thought out arguments.

Dude.... 4 mana 7/7 is only one fucking card.... to get a good resurrect u need to play on turn 3 the blademaster then in turn 4 u play resurrect... THAT requires TWO cards and TWO turns.... what the..... is your rank ?.... Priest always need 2 cards to do a decent play/effect while other classes can have things like 4 mana 7/7 or just god damn druid of the claw or the new Horse of paladin.... which heals you and it give you a spell........ THOSE DOESNT NEED OTHER CARDS TO WORK... Use your brai a little bit please, and hopefully u will get high ranks in the future....
yeah but priest has better cards overall. Shaman just got better because of Whispers, but when it exits, it'll be shit again whereas priest will always have a viable control deck.
I recently made a priest deck and well, priest is absurdly powerful. People were wrong. The large reason is that it counters the most popular deck currently - hunter. Priest isn't also a niche tech deck any more. It can counter aggro and has a great chance at beating late game decks as well.

It's easy to beat either any control deck or agro deck as priest.
Just make either the most anti agro or the most greedy priest list ever.
The problem is how to constantly beat both : priest can't (and it's a good thing because priest players are the most scummiest people ever and I hate you)

P.s I was playing at legend.
I'm sure you were, in the 4 digits.
And I am sure you never obtained a single digit rank. Keep trying, you buffoon.
It's not really that it's bad, it's just; Priest is a class based around combo-ing your cards right which there i a little bit of problems with; 1. It's harder do play than an play-on-curve-and-win deck, which makes it less good in the hands of a casual player. 2. Priest combo's aren't as powerfull as the combo's of other classes, when for example a warrior or an mage combo their cards right - they win the game, but when priest combo's right it can still lose (except for if it's a full Velen combo, but priest need better draw options for that to be a thing) 3. The games are muuuuuuuch longer than they are with most of the other classes, you won't rank up as fast which makes most players consider it bad. :)

So you just proved my point, that you were in fact playing priest in the 4 digits, by keeping quiet about it and instead trying to prove that you're any good by arguing that you were 6 at some point, which is funny because every good player knows that rank 6 means nothing if it was attained, say, in the first week of a ranked play season. If you even knew what you were talking about you would link me a top 100 finish instead. I rest my case, you "buffoon".

Keeping quiet about what? You never asked anything of me. You also completely forgot that my original post, to which you replied, held my reasoning for why I thought Priest was strong.

Quite hilarious how you instigated this discussion by pointing out my rank and now, you turn around and claim the trivialness of my rank. Teach me hypocrisy101.

No one takes a screenshot of the same rank twice.
You do realize I can see how this is a lie just by googling it? Top 100 are made public and easy to find. All I could find on sadpwner was a top 100 from September 2014 and not a rank 6, but 13.
I would be impressed with that but then again, that wasn't the point. You have successfully proven that you were playing well in September 2014. Congrats kiddo.
And yea, I can tell you're just a kid by calling on hypocrisy when my claims were perfectly justified and there were no contradictions in them. No reason to argue with an immature soul.
The collateral damage of the new priests rez builds is the complete disparition of freezemages who were already in a very bad shape in the meta and now lost one of their last good matchups because of priest of the feast :(

Priest sucks because it can't handle aggro, and gets outgunned by most control decks.
Even then, I still go try-hard with Priest every once in awhile.

Real control players play control warrior.
Only sadomasochists play priest. Seriously.

Also it's annoying to play against :P

Usually the only way you can win with Priest is to have an Injured Blademaster die early on and ressummon it a billion times with Onyx Bishop and Ressurect. If you don't get Injured Blademaster you probably lose.
