While I don't doubt that Brann is indeed a very powerful card combined with many in your deck, it is one card in a deck of 30.
I don't doubt it is fun to play, but is it really working much better than the mid-range pally shell its shell is based on?
Exactly. Brann is absolutely wonderful when you can combo him. But he is only one card out of 30, and you'll often not draw him at all, or he will die the turn he is played.
Dragon Paladin is weaker than standard Midrange. That's why I'd rather run a Control Pally with Dragons.
So Dragon Paladin was never meant to be (yet, maybe next expansion Dragon Paladin may be a thing, but I kinda doubt it given Paladin's sullied reputation, which we have Mysterious Challenger to thank, or to blame), but Dragon Consort was rather meant to be a supplement to a Control-type deck which plays lots of Dragons?
Though slightly out of topic, how fares Dragon Warrior in comparison to supposed Dragon Paladin?

5 expansions later, it seems obvious that they randomly add cards without testing them or thinking about the repercussions.
So Dragon Consort was made to give some dragons to Paladin and see what happen. Then they found it cool to give some more to Priest. Then they thought maybe Warrior could play dragons too. Then they gave one to Mage too, even if it has absolutely no synergy with other dragons. They will not "fix" Dragon Pally by creating certain cards to support it. They will randomly make cards and, MAYBE, fortunately, some will find some place in Dragon Paladin.
About Dragon Warrior : as Dragon Paladin is a weaker version of Midrange Paladin (or an alternative to Control Pally, that's currently bad anyway), Dragon Warrior is a weak Midrange Warrior (that's not good anyway) or a weaker Control Warrior (which will always be the best control deck anyway).
If you want to play competitively, you must consider that you'd better run standard netdecks than Dragon-themed decks (except for Priest, ofc). But Dragons are cool so I'll still play them in every class I can.
In my opinion, there are 2 classes that really can play Dragons : - Priest : has more synergy than every other class (Twilight Whelp and Wyrmrest Agent), can heal the big bodies, can draw a lot, can survive until lategame to play big minions and Dragons cards are as good as class cards. - Warlock : has insane card draw, allowing you to activate "If you hold a dragon" more often and has good synergy with both Twilight Drake and Azure Drake. Plus Warlock class cards suck anyway so you'd better run neutral ones (Alexstrasza being the perfect replacement for Lord Jaraxxus).
For now, every other class should not seriously play Dragon decks.
I agree with a lot song said here. I think a control paladin deck with dragons is just a weaker control deck than the warlock/warrior/priest counterparts. Control pally isn't a thing so control dragon pally isn't so good either.
i have had some success with a dragon pally deck that utilizes solemn vigil and volcanic drakes for massive turns in the mid game (after wild pyro/equality or trading muster/creeper tokens). Bolvar becomes a good 5 drop in this situation, and consorts seem to be less useful. I am on a phone so can't really post the deck but it does decent (stays even in rank 5-10 area.
until some new cards are released I think the only viable dragon pally is the style that uses volcanics/solemn with early board clear.

Dragon warrior is really better overall if we disregard the meta and reckon most common decks as "equally viable", but any heavy warrior build is dead these days due to secret pally being an extremely tough matchup (you can tech for it, but you'll suck against everything else).
I think dragon decks in general are just too slow. Dragon priest works ok, but it's a bit undependable in the early game compared to the currently stronger decks.
Ok here is my latest update to my deck. I took out the musters and put back in technicians and also took out boom for chillmaw. So far has had better results. Got up to rank 9 tonight playing a few games a day :)

I've been playing this deck since last night and find it a lot of fun! I don't have Chillmaw but have temporarily thrown in Dr. Boom to regain a little board control. (Slightly different mechanic, but still can attack multiple enemies.) I really enjoy it! I never thought to do dragon Pally and am finding it a blast!
WhyAlexstrasza? I'm not sure if it's as good of a fit as the original card selection for htis type of deck.
She is good to against the decks includes Reno Jackson, also to the face-hitting aggros as shaman or Hunter(if you put Dragon Consort first); the best part is: if you reduce enemy's hp to 15 by her, you may defeat your enemy directly on the next turn by Blessed Champion。

Very good point - provided the enemy doesn't have BGH or the like to combat it. Nice strategy!

Glad you are enjoying it! Its definitely my favorite deck in hearthstone to play! Just hope with the next expansion that it will even get better!
I've been following what you guys are doing with Dragon Paladin since the beginning of the thread (and really dig it, btw), but can't seem to be really competitive against the Meta right now.

That's how we got Unleash the Hounds, Leeroy Jenkins, Grim Patron, Undertaker (all pre-nerf), Dr. Boom, Mysterious Challenger, Mechwarper, etc ... and on the other hand The Mistcaller, Acidmaw, Kidnapper, Bolvar Fordragon, etc ...

A strong 10 mana turn. Brann into dragon consort into dragon consort into azure drake.

Hey, just found this thread after making my dragon deck. I'm pretty noob at deck building, but this is what I have! Open to critique.
How far up the ladder are you with this deck?

I got up to rank 9 with mine last month playing pretty casually (about 1-4 games a day)
Strifecro has a pretty nice Dragondin deck, should check out some of his youtube videos on it, perhaps it will help you.
