I tried seriusly solemn vigit in a mid-range paladin and it's great, it's a very undervalued card, really doesn't suck at all like Serology said. It may be poor in Control decks, yeah, but he just play one copy, and it synergizes very well with equality, enter the coliseum and consecration, so I think it's ok. I like the deck :)
Any deck running Muster can justify Vigil imo, really easy to draw two cards for 1 or no mana if you hang on to it!
I ve made legend with a midrange paladin including Solemn Vigil, it is certainly a viable card and underrated. (And you need reliable draw in this dragon deck without LOH)
I like the deck and really hope Twilight Guardian and Chillmaw make Paladin Dragon decks work. But i am not really convinced yet, Priest and Warrior got strong 2 mana drops for Dragon decks. They already got decent dragon decks, i think they are ahead. I am very disappointed Paladin didn't get a class specific Dragon related card. (for example Argent Lance - if you're holding a dragon + 1 attack - which would make it a 3/2 War Axe and actually a useful early game removal!)
I really wish we had gotten the Priest Wyrmrest 2 drop that becomes a 2/5 taunt, that would really seal the deal.
I think Consort is actually still a very strong card it's just that by turn 5 we have often been so preoccupied with handling aggro that we haven't had the initiative to play it. We have to hope that Twilight Guardian will change that.
Nefarian and Alex are pretty interchangeable I think, I tend to favour Alex for the utility of healing but again if the Guardians and Chilly are protective enough then Nef might be more proactive.
You re putting a lot of hope into Twilight Guardian. I might try out Deathlord. Its obviously good against aggro and together with Enter the Coliseum and Eadric it might be viable against control too.
IfTwilight Guardian isn't enough I feel like it would be safer to add a Belcher and maybe a Jouster, Deathlords are just so risky, but I get your logic.
I'm not going to lie, I love Eadric. He is an excellent card, and I feel he has more place in the deck than another Aspect, or even more of a Midrangey dragon. Aldor Peacekeeper is normally kept until late game anyways.
10 dragons is a lot, and some might not even be necessary.
Volcanic drake always felt overrated imo, so you might consider to cut him out to add a Blackwing Corruptor. You'll have to playtest to see if Alexstrasza is worth picking over Nefarian.
Good call on getting rid of Hungry Dragon, I always felt like shooting myself in the foot when playing it. Twilight Guardian seems like a better version of it, since 3 attack is good enough, and you'll most probably end up with a 6 life taunt in most cases.
Sideshow Spelleater.. are you sure ? If your playing against Shaman or Rogue this Card is just dead in your hand.
No, i think summoning 1/1s should be awful turn ~6, since the deck doesn't play that way. I think rogue and shaman are both fine hero powers, since rogue is a more efficient ping tool and the shaman totems can help your dragons on the field.
Solemn Vigil was mostly disliked because it was kind of a 5-cost of which Paladin had too much. But now Twilight Drake can replace Sludge Belcher so there's room for whatever. But it's a really greedy card in a Paladin deck which usually runs Lay on Hands anyway. Dragon decks or midrange control decks rarely run out of card before the really lategame. Chromaggus is decent enough to not have any combo for him in the deck.
Another reason why Solemn Vigil was rarely used is because people tend to clear you stuff in games where you would get enough minions on your turn to attack. Or your turn just ends up being too slow if you can't kill 3-4 minions and play it. Having it work sometimes isn't great in a deck that wants to out value your opponent.
Chows are meta calls really. Throughout GvG and the start of BRM they were mandatory but I suppose they're less so now. The only issue is that I feel Paladin is a weak class at regaining board tempo, in fact I think few classes are any good at it... Warrior is one of the few, hence in control match ups I feel like you can't skip on early board control at all.
For myself that is the strength of Muster. Whether your Recruits survive or not, it's mopping up your opponents tempo and that 1/4 weapons can tidy up the rest. I find it hard to imagine not running 2x Muster for the foreseeable future, unless a similarly effective replacement with the same function appears, or you're running a combo deck that doesn't require board control.
Also getting even just one free Solemn Vigil with the Muster recruits is near game winning in many cases, I feel.
Volcanic Drake.. eh. Less so, but nice after a board clear to maintain tempo.
Even as control we all have to play the tempo game :( That's just Hearthstone for you. The snowball is real.
Face Hunter was really the reason why Chow was added, there is Aggro Paladin now too and some mech decks but even right now, you can get away without using it.
^@Theingeniousidalgo: I see no reason to run Argent Lance over Coghammer really, since it has the same atk n durablity as a lucky lance and gives a minion taunt and divine shield for just 1 more mana. If you're going to play Mustard then you should also run 2 Knife Juggler and 1 Quartermaster for great sinergy, solemn vigil is not needed at all. Theres a lot id change in your deck but most of it is up to preference so its fine.
This is the build ill test. Dont have Ysera yet so ill just run Nefarian for the time being, ysera is better cuz there wont be any BGH targets.
Tuskarr and Coliseum are not set in stone, if they prove to be inconsistent ill replace them for Antique Healbot and a 2nd Equality.
Im not sure if I should run the Blackwing sinergy minions instead of the Mustard + Quartermaster combo, what you guys think? I like having the threat of playing the combo later on, while also making Knife Juggler a better 2-drop.
Personally I see this deck being the strongest Paladin deck going forward. I don't see standard midrange Paladin surviving in a control or a Patron Warrior meta.

How do you guys feel about Eadric in the Dragodin deck?
I'm not going to lie, I love Eadric. He is an excellent card, and I feel he has more place in the deck than another Aspect, or even more of a Midrangey dragon. Aldor Peacekeeper is normally kept until late game anyways.
Wow. Just... wow.
I disagree with some choices here.
I definitely wouldn't play the Muster for Battles, the Equality, the Shielded Minibots, the Zombie Chows or the Solemn Vigil.
I'd put in Coghammer, Sideshow Spelleater, and some Hungry Dragons. I'd also definitely swap Alexstrasza for Nefarian and Tuskarr Jouster for Tirion Fordring.
Also, I think 2 Blackwing Corruptors are definitely needed.

Well coghammers and blackwing corruptors are a good way to handle early game. Anyway, Paladin has it's hero power in the early game.

No Chows... No Equality... No Muster... No Minibots.. But you want Hungry Dragons and Sideshow Spelleaters...
Good luck bro.

By the way what do you guys think of the use of Seal of Champions in a control deck?
I'm really hoping the meta slows down enough that we can drop a Chow for something a bit tempo or bursty like that.
Also I don't think Thaurissan is particularly strong in Dragon Paladin at all.
I will try out this one

I'm pretty happy with how Joust is working out in the Brawl, I think Tuskarr Jouster should be a fair decent card vs. aggro.
