How much play do you think will Paladin will get anymore? I feel like Paladin drew is short straw with this expansion considering that there is no real auto include neither do any of the new Paladin cards enable something new.
I can see a proper Dragon Paladin now working with the new 4 drop Taunt and maaaybe Chillmaw. But there's still no super threat or unfairness other than slowly struggling to the late game and trying to outvalue. But really, where does that leave Paladin in the end, compared to all the types of decks other classes can do. Even midrange/control decks of other classes can do massive burst and whatnot.
Maybe we can see a new heavy control type with heal and that new Brawl type card? I'm not sure if it works without armor.
I'm thinking Healadin might become a thing. With Tuskarr Jouster which Paladin is getting and the two healing neutrals Refreshment Vendor and Tournament Medic it just might see play. Note that Noxious made a Healadin deck some time ago so I wouldn't be surprised if he made a new Healadin deck which could see play in constructed.
I was never really interested in Aggro Paladin but that Murloc actually wants me to try that card out, in whatever deck it will fit in. I'm not sure if the Secret will ever be really successful as some people suggested in aggro but that Divine Shield + Attack card can also be used in midrange and control instead of that one Kings people use, just to trade, since it's cheaper we could use some more room in the 4 cost range. I will probably replace Healbot with Tuskarr asap though (in a Dragon variant deck I'm using).
With that and the new Dragon card, it's easy to make some room on the 4 drop and 5 drop range to fit in Dragons at least, to make the decks more threatening I guess. This mean you can just upgrade the mustard deck with dragons and still have the mustard combo I think.
This one I came up with hastily. Silenced can be squeezed in but I'd probably remove Warhorse Trainer and with the new buff card and replace Kings with Spellbreaker or Owl. I like former simply because of the Joust and Owl usually sits in the deck, waiting to be drawn. When removing Warhorse Trainer, replacing Kings with Champion might be better when adding Enter the Coliseum instead of one Consecration for Control matchups. Champion after EtC is possible (so it Kings though) but also doesn't buff Eadric and some other cards above 7+ attack. I think Kings is still better for now though, we'll see.
Ysera or Chromaggus can be replaced with other dragons though, maybe even Chillmaw. But I'd think that's an entirely different that, which use Vigil, Vulcanic Drakes or even Bolvar.
Can we even expect Heal to win the game? I mean Patron just wait until the combo is ready and kills you with 50 damage or something like that. All the Malygos type decks, especially with Rhonin, or even a possible face Priest. They'll take advantage of the stalling and kill you in one turn.
Paladin is looking to be in a good spot, actually. There are 3 main reasons for this:
Blizzard is apparently trying to slow down the meta, and if they succeed then Paladin will already be in a much better spot (aka in a control vs control match, Paladins tend to win due to their card value). Paladins have some seriously powerful tools for control type matches (and they even got a few more).
The Paladin hero power is the "strongest hero power in the game" as it is the hero power with its value being closest to 2 mana. Consequently, Paladin benefit a lot from inspire card effects since Paladin often want to hero power as often as they can anyway.
Paladins also got some great additions to the various Paladin deck types in the neutrals this time (Twilight Guardian was really needed for Dragadin as Hungry Dragon just isn't good enough to take over the 4 spot from Piloted Shredder). Dragon, Aggro, Mid-range, Giant, Healdin and Control all receive some good neutrals.
As a side not, paladin control decks also probably gain the most from the joust effect allowing you to scout your opponents deck because, as I said before Paladin deck tend to completely out value even other control decks, but you can only maximize your value when you know what's coming.
EDIT: This is not to say Paladin will be the next OP, but they shouldn't be in a bad spot at all either.
In this video, Noxious is playing Healadin which seemed to be working out pretty well. I know that he only played two games but if you go at 23:49 he seemed to have found himself a wild Face Hunter!
Spoiler! He won. This deck isn't only focused on healing, it also has alot of big threats and just imagine the possibilities you can do with this deck once TGT comes out!
As of the Malygos type decks, the only one I've seen been played the most is Malygos Lock and even that deck doesn't deliver a big punch to the face as Malygos Rogue and Shaman do. Those decks you don't see everyday.
And Face Priest? I've seen Noxious building a Face priest and trying it out but I've never encountered a Face Priest on ladder myself. We might see a possible Face Priest when TGT comes out but I'm not too worried.
#After playing midrange/control/dragon paladin for weeks since TGT, all I can say that it's complete trash slightly above shaman I guess. I guess I have to wait another 24 months for midrange to get some over powered one card solution to fix everything. I assume the next expansion will just bring some garbage tier cards to the arsenal because lulz murlocs knigt and dr.6 are so op. No need for proper functional cards.

Or do we just keep generating tokens?

+Terribleness.

That's what I hate so much about expansions. Most of the cards are just unplayable crap.
You could try Midrange Secrets..? It's working wonders for me and is a actually able to close the games easily in the mid game with Dr.6.
Well Met!
Secret Paladin is a shit deck. I don't want to put in a metric ton of garbage in the deck because there's now one broken as fuck card.
People these days.
Asking for an overpowered card for midrange, but refusing to play Mysterious Challenger.
You're funny!
Well Met!
You don't know what a midrange deck is do you?
Yes I do.
You don't have to be the full aggro list to actually have the Mysterious Challengerpackage.
Well Met!
