Cards with the Recruit keyword immediately summon minions from your deck and put them into play. Some cards recruit minions that match certain conditions; others recruit randomly chosen minions.
Is it discover-like or do we choose though? Because if it's discover it is too weak. If we choose it might even prove to be too strong! Weird mechanic to balance.
We don't really know how it wrok yet, but i don't like it anyways.
If it will pull a random minion it will be just another "highroll" card that could grant you a massive tempo boost (see: big priest) or tempo loss, turning the game into a bigger coin flip then it is now.
If it will let you discover a minion it will be even worse, the card will essentially be: 6 mana draw and play a 8-10 mana minion from your deck.
Either way, i don't like the tempo swing those kind of cards can provide, we will probably get few tribe specific recruit cards with lower cost.

Why does everyone think it's like discover: The text says: it summons a minion from your deck.
So if you play a card that say recruit like the warrior one, you randomly summon a minion from your deck. If it was discover, it would say:
Not sure what's to be confused about, given the explanation.
If it specifies the minion or condition (examples: 8 cost minion, 'Lyra the Sunshard', beast, etc), it summons that minion. Otherwise, like the warrior card, it summons a random one. Like if Patches the Pirate's summon ability was on a specific pirate instead of on him, it looks like.
That being said, they chose a bad card to reveal the mechanic with in terms of explaining the effect. It's also an awful effect to make an expansion for given how done people have been with Patches in general. Modeling an effect after him (and Big Priest effects, which people are also not a big fan of) seems like a risky move.
i really hate this mechanic. Things like Barnes + Yshaarj or the Desert Camel + Injured Kvaldir combo are very uninteractive and difficult to balance and really don't feel fun when you draw them out of order and unfun when your opponent gets them in the right order. This is basically the theme of this keyword. I really hope they only make like 3 of these cards, no idea why they thought to make this an expansion themed mechanic.... So far, this isn't a good start to this expac....

This seems terrible. There are so many superior fan created keywords that they could have ripped off and renamed, and they went with Recuit!Very underwhelming.
I'd like to know if minions with battlecry will get to use the battlecry effects when recruited.
they won't, theres a video of someone using the warrior one. It's literally as boring of a mechanic as it sounds. No different from barnes, patches, desert camel, deathlord, or yshaarj. Battlecries don't trigger, you just get the minion on board

New Keyword: Recruit
Cards with the Recruit keyword immediately summon minions from your deck and put them into play. Some cards recruit minions that match certain conditions; others recruit randomly chosen minions.
Existing cards which will probably be updated with the new keyword include Deathlord (for your opponent,) Finja, the Flying Star, Desert Camel, Meat Wagon, Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, and possibly Patches the Pirate.
Barnes summons a copy, and will probably not use recruit.
Battlecry will not trigger.

I guess it is discover, like Kazakus' potions.
Nice

I really don't like this kind of effect. Killed the expansion hype for me already. Let's hope that they don't print too many cards with this effect.
Besides are other people finding this mechanic kinda boring too? Put a random creature from deck onto board has existed and isn't even new.
Big meta incoming
On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.
ehh, culd be interesting if there's a few interesting combos but overall it just seems recycled
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Fuck cubelock
As much as we'd prefer it to be like Discover, from what I've read Recruit will work more like Y'Sharaaj's ability.
More rng...great...

They will probably add this keyword to cards like Barnes and Yshaarj. AT least those pesky Brann + Barnes combos will be gone
