Malygos isn't dead yet.
Hello guys, my name is Matthew and I'm known as WhiteHexangu. I'm playing hearthstone for over 3 years and I love fun, out of meta and working decks. Now, we will talk about Malygos Rogue.
WORK IN PROGRESS
1. Explanation
2. Mulligan and Gameplay
3. Deck Tips
4. Card replacement
5. Picks for meta
Explanation
You should control game with spells, and some minions then do OTK/TTK.
General Mulligan: Backstab, Loot Hoarder, Cheap Shot, Bloodmage Thalnos, Elven Minstrel. Sap and Fan of Knives. You can keep Necrium Blade when you've got combo or against aggro. Keep Malygos only when you've got Kobold Illusionist and Necrium Blade.
General Win Condition: Play Necrium Blade and attack. Next turn play Kobold Illusionist (if there is no other minion except Malygos). Do second attack and play Necrium Vial (you can play it with Preparation). On the board you've got 3 Malygos (spell damage +15). Also you can kill Kobolod Illusionist with Backstab to get 4 Malygos, then play spells that deal damage to opponent.
First example option: Necrium Blade (turn before and attack) -> Kobold Illusionist -> Preparation -> Necrium Vial -> Necrium Blade (attack) -> Backstab (Kobold) -> Eviscerate -> Preparation -> Eviscerate -> Sinister Strike -> Razorpetal
[10 mana 92 damage (95)] (probably the best possible damage but require 10 cards in hand)
Second example option: Kobold Illusionist -> Preparation -> Necrium Vial -> Eviscerate -> Sinister Strike -> Razorpetal
[10 mana 38 damage (41)]
Third example option: Necrium Blade (turn before and attack) -> Kobold Illusionist -> Preparation -> Necrium Vial -> Necrium Blade (attack) -> Sinister Strike -> Eviscerate
[9 mana 37 damage (40)]
Fourth example option: Kobold Illusionist -> Bloodmage Thalnos -> Backstab (Kobold) -> Preparation -> Shiv -> Sinister Strike -> Razorpetal -> Razorpetal
[9 mana 30 damage (33)]
Fivth example option: Necrium Blade (turn before and attack) -> Kobold Illusionist -> Necrium Blade (attack) -> Backstab (Kobold) -> Preparation -> Eviscerate -> Sinister Strike -> Razorpetal
[6 mana 27 damage (30)] (the quickest one)
REMEMBER!
You can use spells also from Death's Shadow. There are many options of OTK/TTK just use your brain and smartness. These are just examples. I counted weapon damage in brackets because I wanted to show you OTK when taunt is on the board.

Card replacement
For those who want to play but does not have cards. You can't replace Malygos, Necrium Vial, Kobold Illusionist and Preparation.
Evasion - Second Sudden Betrayal
Bloodmage Thalnos - Any 2 mana spell damage card or Novice Engineer or Roll the Bones
Valeera the Hollow - hard to replace but in my opinion Rotten Applebaum or second Evasion
Picks for meta
As you know meta changes so your deck too.
King Mukla against Togwaggle Druid and Mecha'thun decks for Sudden Betrayal
Wild Pyromancer or Mossy Horror against token decks like Odd Paladin, Zoo Warlock, Token Druid for Tar Creeper
Blood Knight against Paladins or Even Shaman and Giggling Inventor meta for Eviscerate
Chief Inspector against secret decks - Paladin, Hunter and Mage for Sap
Against Skulking Geist meta take Razorpetal Volley for Sinister Strike
E. M. P. Operative against mech meta for Fan of Knives
Let's be honest here: this deck in the current meta is unplayable.
It's fun to play? It might give you some satisfaction when you acomplish the combo BUT... you can do it like 1 time in 10 try outs.
There's no way this Mally Rogue works out against the current Odd/Quest Warrior, Odd Rogue, Paladin, Hunter.....
I made an account JUST to comment on this lol... I've played many versions of OTK rogue in the past and I think the key to this deck is really just practicing it and playing a LOT of games with it. Knowing what to use when. It's an unforgiving deck, if you make a mistake you likely lose. That being said in this meta my winrate with it seems to be close to 60%+ honestly. against the slow decks like odd/quest warrior it does great especially if you can draw through your deck fast. The more agro decks like hunter ones and odd rogue and pally, you really need to draw as fast as possible, those match ups are harder but still winnable.
All in all this deck is a blast if you learn it and play it well. Also just to mention I am playing a similar variant to the one you mentioned from Theo.
Hi guys,
I saw a streamer (Theo i think) playing this deck but with some minor diferences:
He didn't used Cheap Shot nor Sudden Betrayal
He used two Evasion instead of just one.
He used two Sinister Strike instead of just one.
Two Necrium Blade instead of just one.
Cavern Shinyfinder instead of Bloodmage Thalnos
Loot Hoarder is replaced with Sprint
I'll try it later!!
Playing with pretty much this except I do use Cheap Shot and Sudden Betrayal because I didn't want to craft Evasion. I'm considering dropping Sprint for something else because I so rarely get to use it
Wining is completely dependent on the draw and even with a lucky draw it can be tough to rank up with every other deck being an aggressive odd-something.
But when you OTK a full-health 34-armor odd-warrior with 1 health remaining and no card left in your deck, it makes it all worth it!
lol, i'm might craft this deck just to annoy my friends, good one
This is an awesome deck. Thank you so much!!!
You are a despicable person if you play this deck. You are ruining the meta for people who actually want to play creative and interactive decks.
It's niche deck man. Why are you thinking that it's ruining the meta?
Just got Malygos from pack, I am so high and trying this one. Need a bit practice but I feel ok with it. Thanks for the guide!
great deck rly!
Almost every slower deck I encountered had weapon removal waiting, luckily I've put second necrium blade and it really helped.
Also necrium vial seemed like a dead card to me that I haven't used even once, it turned out that I simply forgot to put one in my deck :D
Great guide dude, thanks for the deck!
Thanks for your kind opinion <3
I use umbra instead of necrium vial. Cause 1 mana less also helps me to fix in case Valeera distrupt me.
Even when they destroy the blade I still have a chance to win with umbra like old fashion way.
what you think guys ?
Hmmm it can be good but I prefer vial cause of preparation. It can cost 2 mana and it gives high value and it's not random as umbra is (when you've got valeera).
What if they destroy your 1 Necrium Blade ?
There is still change to win, it just helps you a lot but sometimes you've gotta risk. I'm also trying to find best replace for second Necrium Blade.
Your deck still doing God's work - won my first two matches with this game. One of them was Odd Taunt Warrior too! I thought the game was over before it began, but I drew the nuts into a combo on turn 6 with the Blade. I was 4 damage short, but I still went for the combo and it spooked my opponent. Played Valeera into Malygos, he didn't have removal for Malygos, I double Eviscerated him (one from Death's Shadow) for lethal :D
If this deck can beat Odd Warrior, something is definitely going alright with it!
Hmmm looks nice I consider it :D thanks
Great guide!
There's no corpse flower in your deck
