Descent of Dragons Meta Decks - Late February
Not much has changed over the past 2 weeks, just refining of certain decks and getting used to certain match ups. Shaman and Mage still in a tough spot on ladder, Hunter and Druid still thriving with multiple decks.
Here's what we have this week:
Hunters. Hunters Everywhere.
It's a Hunter Meta, but the issue is that it's not 1 particular card or 1 particular archetype that's good. Hunter is just really strong across the board, with mutliple strong decks, so no one is really sure what to do about it's dominance, beyond hoping it doesn't carry over to the next expansion, like it did with Shaman.

What is Nature's Call?
Despite IskarHS's statements last week that Embiggen druid was average in the top 1%, it continues to be played a lot and continues to rack up wins in the rest of the 99% of ladder. And it's not even the best Druid deck, at any ranking, because Token Druid still has it beat. Not everyone likes aggro however.

Put Your Faith in the Mechs
Not everyone liking aggro is probably also the reason that Mech Paladin doesn't quite get the credit it deserves for being among the strongest decks in the meta. There's still a sizeable portion of the player base that will swear up and down that Paladin is no good in the current meta, simply because they refuse to play aggro.
(We listed a budget option here, but the guide mentions to replace Hot Air Balloons with Zilliax and Snip-Snap if you have them.)

For the Birds
Without much fanfare, Priest switched it's main Rez priest archetype from Quest, to Albatross and has basically not skipped a beat, despite quite some turn over in the Meta.

Ah so rogue is dead?
Hi just wanted to say thank you for putting my decklist onto this list. :) I feel very honoured 👍👍
Your deck was basically cookie cut from other decks no?
well i didnt create the deck. apart from some cards, this is the deck that is mostly being played on the ladder. Still feels kinda cool though :)

212 weeks, just refining of certain decks and getting used to certain match ups. Shaman and Mage still in a tough spot on ladder, Hunter and Druid still thriving with multiple decks.oh man so fun to play them, thanks a lot! :D
I agree with most of this but they're keeping the rogues in check, as well as embiggens. A necessary evil
the highlander list has worgen infiltrator in it... smh
Ever hear of clickbait? lol... The point isn't to be factually accurate.
Why do people still use phrases like "93% winrate" in deck titles when we can just look up statistics on HSReplay or whatever to see that any such claims are complete and utter bs...
The one making that claim technically wasn't lying.... However, they only based that winrate on 15 games they played with it, which is far from a reasonable sample size.
Why do people still post decks... I mean most decks posted are posted 2314412413242 times already.
Vipers highlander hunter. Haha OK, just sub out one card to claim the deck.
no highlander warrior? Basically wrecks every highlander and aggro dragon hunters
Hearthbore tryharders.....can I even play casual to do the quest and log out without seeing these old decks from December .......seriously gafl. I just have to laugh....
Don't forget Quest Hunter. It's super strong too.
The cards hunter got are just toxic as can be.
Blizzard does not release charge minions anymore for a reason but then they came with Dinotamer Brann .
Turn 5 Leeroy Jenkins into turn 6 with coin Dinotamer Brann is something you cannot deal with.
Then you also got Rotnest Drake which is extremely powerful. As hunter has a lot of early game pressure, the "kill a random creature" is not so random anymore. As they are very good at controlling the board and they can basically pick which minion to kill with Rotnest Drake .
Talking about a very powerfull card... Primordial Explorer , poison + discover a dragon + 2/3 body. And that all for just 3 mana. It's just rediculous.
Hunter has extremely powerful cards for every turn and that shows in the meta.
the thing with hunter is that they are good against rogues which are also dominant in this meta.
Yes exactly, i was playing highlander Warrior (currently bouncing between ranks 2-3) and won every aggro/dragon hunter matchup, but lost twice in a row to super greedy highlander Rogues, due to random Toggwaggle Schemes and infinite Kronxes. So to be honest i like the fact aggro hunter is good, or ladder would be 80% rogue and some random other decks.
that exactly happened to me, with my control decks I do fine against hunter but unless the rogue does some terrible misplays I can't beat their random luck. Well its so consistent that I wouldn't call it random anymore. All those lackeys and discoveries just giving you too many options if the game takes abit longer (and discover a dragon excuse me).
