The_RLJ posted a message on If you dont like the game, then dont play itPosted in: General DiscussionFunny story - a lot of people have decided not to play because of these reasons but often still check up on the forum to see what has occured in a community they had been a part of for many years. Some of these people even have opinions they may wish to present - pretty crazy, huh?

Turn 2 : 5/6 Bloodsail Raider, 4/4 Patches the Pirate spawn
Turn 3 : 6/6 Southsea Captain ,Patches the Pirate become 5/5, Bloodsail Raider 6/7..
insert gif " Hmmm that's pretty good !"
I would not advise running Bloodsail Raider in a Prince Keleseth deck.... -

Kaladin posted a message on Top 5 Problematic Hearthstone cardsPosted in: Standard FormatI think they need to rework how "....a 1/1 copy" works. It should be a card with the same text that has 1/1 stats. It should not be the normal card that's been de-buffed to 1/1 stats.

SlydE posted a message on Top 5 Problematic Hearthstone cardsPosted in: Standard FormatI do not like to play against anything rng-based that wins or loses on the spot.
1: Barnes Almost all power of a deck centered on drawing one card is just silly.
2: Naga Sea Witch It should not be possible to play a 5-5 and 4 8-8 giants on turn 5, it does not matter how strong the deck is, how often it happens and that it only happens in Wild.
3: Patches the Pirate Still by far the best earlygame card, I have seen every class run pirates except mage and priest, which should not happen. Also too punishing if you draw him.
4: Evolve I just hate playing against this! Roll a dice along with Doppelgangster and win/lose on the spot. The fact that Thrall, Deathseer promotes the same rng-based mechanic does not make it any better. Shaman should be about clever placements, totem synergy and resource managemet, not this transformation BS.
5: The Lich King The idea is good, and it is not op. However, his cards are far too situational, turning the game into a stupid lottery of giving you the right one (he usually doesn't) Ysera is much better in that regard!

Prod posted a message on Why is it possible to kill a card with "protection against spells and hero powers" using druid power?Posted in: Card DiscussionDruid power it's technically equipping a 1/1 weapon that breaks at the end of your turn if not used.
"Can't be targeted minions" are not protected from weapons.

RahnSCII posted a message on The Naga Giants deck is at the point where if my opponent sees I'm playing either Warlock, Druid or Hunter, they just concedePosted in: Wild FormatI learned about the Sea Witch change a couple of days ago and figured I'd take a stab with it, but I went with a Dude Pally + Giants deck. From rank 23 to rank 5 over a few days, I saw maybe half a dozen other players using the giants combo (out of 82 matches). I only lost to one of them because I was being out-tempoed and had to use my equality early to stay in the game, so I didn't have an answer for when they managed to pull their combo off.
Won a fair number of games I had outright lost (because the giants package is pretty inconsistent) by Holy Wrath to the face and landing Molten Giant for the win. Though sometimes a 12 cost giant works as well.
From what I've tracked the most common classes I played against: 23% of my matches were against priest, 16% warrior, and 16% druid. The druids I faced were mostly token or jade. With so many priests around it's pretty hard for the giants deck to dominate. From my experience the best bet against Priest is to go all in with your giants on turn 5. If they have Lightbomb, you lose, if they don't you win. If you play slowly against Priest all that happens is they chip away at your giants turn by turn and bleed you out till you lose.
I tried the druid version for 4 matches and it went 50/50 simply because it's a one trick deck.
With the paladin I ended up with a 71% win rate, (65% in the last 20 matches) which was a bit more consistent for me since I had recruits to fall back on if I wasn't able to draw my Sea Witch early enough, and hero powering allowed me to present a constant threat while setting me up for Sea Giants or Mountain Giants without the Sea Witch.
Here's a rank 6 match I had against a Big Priest highlighting the downfalls of giants and the pluses of having a bunch of recruits to fall back on.

As someone who got the warrior DK from the solo adventure, it makes me happy to see this deck!
One question though. Was Val'kyr Soulclaimer too slow of a card to be included here? It seems with all the whirlwind effects it would be a decent choice on paper thanks to its ability, but I'd guess the statline kept it out of this deck.

Echoing the trend in this thread, I'd also be surprised by an announcement of any upcoming nerfs in this set at this point - KOFT seems largely well thought out. Deathknights feel like more flexible quests that promote a few different playstyles, and there are very few cards in this set that leave me wondering "wtf were they on when they designed this crap" this time around.
Ultimate Infestation is getting a lot of mention in this thread, but IMHO this card is at about the right power level for a 10-cost spell...other 10-and-up-cost cards should be BUFFED to bring them in line with it rather than nerfing it into oblivion. Jade Idol is still somewhat problematic as we're seeing since Skulking Geist turns out to be a really niche tech card, and I think it should be reduced to adding 2 cards to your deck not 3. The only other cards I want looked at which haven't been mentioned much here are Gadgetzan Auctioneer (which continues to be a must-include in most jade druid and miracle rogue decks) and Patches the Pirate (which, despite anti-pirate tech through Golakka Crawler, sees way to much play) but I am unsure how to best tone them down while still keeping them viable.

Either start roping them back, or just load up your favorite x-rated site of choice. Hard to go wrong either way.

Good combo potential with Brawl and Shield Slam in control warr. Definitely a card you have to play at the right time to get the most out of. I'm cautiously optimistic on it...

I'm preemptively nominating this card for the award of "best name in KFT".

"Is happening" implies that friend requests and a lack of proper reporting system in HS haven't been abused for ages now. This is far from a new phenomenon.
I'd go with "hilarious" myself; These kind of messages crack me up personally.

The only change I'd make is try to squeeze in a Violet Illusionist who can prevent a TON of damage from mini-rag to your hero's face. Amusing write-up and great list however.

More like Patches the Pirate squad tavern brawl. Did my 1 game for the pack, felt disgusting after getting 7 dudes IN CHARRRRGE HERE on turn 1, and refused to play it again.
I'm normally a fan of the "squad" brawls but this one is a serious dud in my book, not interesting at all.

10/10 reference, if absolutely nothing else, from this brawl:
