Big constructed player here, over 13 200 wins, I used to hate arena so much, I couldn't stand it.
However in the past few months, it seems like I have lost all interest for constructed and now mainly play arena (besides getting a quick rank 5 and dailies). I used to despise the mode so much, maybe I'm enjoying it a lot more now that there are brackets that rewards the better player.
Anyway.. am I the only one who used to exclusively play constructed who then fell in love with arena even though I hated it ? And no, it's not because I suck and can't play constructed (been legend multiple times and currently average between 6.3-6.5 in arena)
Thoughts ??? I am freaking crazy or is arena actually a lot of fun nowdays ?
I used to love her, but I had to kill her I used to love her, but I had to kill her I had to put her, six feet under, and I can still hear her complain
I didn't write them - its from a GNR song (not Sweet Child O' Mine). This is what came to mind.

It honestly feels like it my man, I'm not sure I'll ever go back to constructed. Arena is a lot of fun and is just much more relax than try Harding a legend grind. I also feel like my decisions matter even more than constructed, whenever I outplay someone I mostly win the game (seems to happen very frequently in arena, perhaps because you are matched against players of any ranks)
Yeah I used to hate arena too but ever since the taverns of time event I've been having a lot of fun and a surprising amount of succes in arena. Especially since Boomsday it feels like good play is rewarded much more, Kripparrian has said this as well. I still really like constructed though but I have never cared much about ranking up, I just like to play my own decks and have fun, which is also why I mainly play wild.
I feel different. I have always hated arena and still hate it. Honestly, I feel like arena is more stress since I've invested gold into it. If I loose a ranked match it's whatever but when I loose an arena match I get super stressed because I want to make a profit on my gold.
Not to mention a lot of my runs sometimes just feel incredibly rng based. I'll just play on curve and after I run out of cards just play a topdeck war with my opponent. I'm not sure if I'm just bad though.
Im f2p, so Arena is great for the even playing field. I won't ever invest the money to build a tier 1 deck or the time to take that deck to legend. But I can put together 12 wins in Arena and feel like I understand how to play this game.

this are exactly my feelings, i feel like arena is too much like gambling, sure i like rng in the game and it makes sense when you put the rng card in your deck, but your deck being rng and losing the topdeckwar to the guy that got offered a bunch of boosted cards just doens't feel good at all.
Standar, Wild, Arena, all are fine when you start to be bored in one just switch to an other one.
The only probelm I find in arena, it's sometimes you have only bad pick and got shitty deck (and even you can go for 3/5 win, I don't have the mood for play it.) but in compensation sometimes you got crazy deck so I guess it's ok.

It is like gambling but it is set up where your odds are more like the house. If you win 3-4 games on average you get your gold worth. You only need to average 50 gold worth of rewards to make it worth what you paid.
If you are not a new player or just very bad it isn't any issue to make it worth it. Arena is the only reason I have a decent collection as f2p.
On the other hand, I hate constructed. It feels neutered, predictable and stale. I despise playing the same deck over and over, and I consider playing against one almost like it playing it myself. On top of that, I tire of seeing awful players at ranks +10 that got there through an autopilot deck. I also find Constructed extremely toxic. Aggro players that non-stop emote, bad control players that add you to insult you because you outplayed them, and so on.
I do still play some constructed, generally homebrewed or off-meta decks, but Arena for me is where it's at.

What exactly was it that changed to make you enjoy arena? Arena is something that I'd like to like (since it's much more profitable than constructed) but personally hate. My average is also decent but the fact that I don't enjoy the mode means I can't make use of this fact
Ignoring the debate of skill, I feel like arena is just throwing piles of stats and chillwind yetis at each other, a bit like playing a spiteful summoner deck. Every deck is like a vanilla bunch of random f2p cards with no synergy. There's no macroplanning beyond being defensive or offensive. All of this seems horribly bland to me
Arena served me a purpose of making my collection larger when I was F2P. I've learned a lot about the importance of playing on curve.
But now I can't really say I like it but actually hate it. I can't stand when I'm making correct plays which do not matter because my opponent has better cards. The fact that someone is having better deck is just soul-crushing. Like you're trying but it doesn't matter because he has better cards. An equivalent in constructed for this matter is facing counter deck. But even then you know what to expect from Your opponent and can try to make the best plays based on what's known and not on counting on your opponent next move finally being weak.
Another thing is a big gap in WR between classes. In constructed the gap is between specific decks but not classes overall.
Next triggering aspect is having bad draft and then either you're trying with your rank50 F2P deck or just press throw the draft away having paid 150g for a pack.
I also don't enjoy the lack of comeback mechanism.
And last but not least is losing against noobs making terrible plays but having strong cards.
For me, the level of randomness is too high. Once in a while like a month is fine but that's all I can handle.
Yep, arena is in a pretty good state right now. Archetypes are more fleshed out and classes are reasonably balanced. You can just about take any class and do well with it (even with Priest, Pala and Shaman which have the lowest WR atm), if you know what you're doing. Compared to e.g. the Un'Goro arena meta that basically had two classes on top that's a vast improvement.
The bucket system rewards intelligent drafting and makes it more interesting. You very rarely end up with a bad draft now since cards in the 6th and 7th bucket have a 50% decreased offering rate. Personally I think the power level of decks is just about right atm, most decks will have a reasonable amount of removal/AoE, but usually not to an extent that makes it frustrating to play against (which was the case with e.g. Mage or Priest in the past). Tempo decks imo still have an edge over control, but control is in a pretty good spot right now considering all the Warriors, Mages, Priests at high wins.
If anyone had a bad experience with arena in the past, but hasn't played that mode recently it might be worth to give arena another try.

I have become everything I once hated.
Its ok, I just find playing tier 4 homebrews more fun/cheaper.
Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP
I switch it up. If i have a few bad runs I fuck around in constructed and once that gets dull I do a few runs
That's Incredible!

Arena is a lottery, maybe you like to gamble too much? LUL
Great art can never be created without great suffering.
Says every bad arena player out there. ;)
It really isn't a gamble if you're good.
You can very easily break even and at least make a bit of gold, even if you average 4-5 wins.
I rarely do arena, but casual to experiment is nonexistent (it's aggro all the time) and ladder is only slightly better.
Been tempted to go back to wild, even though there's horror stories there.
/I miss the days of KoFT/K&C when control decks were more common to run into.
