TLDR: If people are angry, it gets other people angry. If people are happy, it gets other people happy.
Kind of a no brainer but interesting that they have data to support that statement. I bring it up because I've been an active reader / occasional poster on HearthPwn for a while. Originally found the discussion on different decks, and still do, to be really interesting and has helped my play. In fact, it is something that is lacking from HSReplay; they are more of a just a dump of analytics.
These days, there is a lot of saltiness going around. People demanding guides for posted decks as oppose to discussing what mechanics make them work. As well, posts demanding nerfs or proclaiming HS is dead. It is all pretty negative.
Honestly, I still enjoy HS, I watch popular players on Twitch, and yes, I deal with the analytics dump that is HSReplay. So a lot of the negativity on HearthPwn isn't really due to the game in my opinion. The community here has just soured. I would love the community to turn around but I kind of think what is needed is some sort of "anti-salt" Chrome plugin.
I vote for you to be in charge of planet wide morale my friend.
And if people post negative non-constructive comments below - ignore them! Just abort reading them when it becomes apparent what they are.
World doesn't need more negativity in it, so I'm on board. Only thing I would say is that not all of hpwn is like that - many people's posts on here make good points and well worth reading.
I concur with keeping up the positive vibes. Though I tend to be too salty at times, I think less of it is good for everyone, including me.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I think part of my issue is that I like to see things succeed that I am involved with. My time, my money and my creativity. If that fails or it seems like things are falling apart, it gets really tough to stay positive.
I don't know if you ever heard of the Sunk Cost Fallacy, but I have that problem when it comes to Hearthstone. I want to walk away at times, but part of me thinks I can't because of the time and money invested. Another part of me says if you aren't enjoying it, then move on. The last part of me wants to 'fix' the broken bits and make this game enjoyable for everyone.
quoted from the Wiki page - "Many people have strong misgivings about "wasting" resources (loss aversion). In the above example involving a non-refundable sporting event ticket, many people, for example, would feel obliged to go to the event despite not really wanting to, because doing otherwise would be wasting the ticket worth. They usually feel they've passed the point of no return. This is sometimes referred to as the sunk cost fallacy. Economists would label this behavior as "irrational". It is inefficient because it misallocates resources by depending on information that is irrelevant to the decision being made."
The example is you buy a ticket, but later don't want to go for some reason. You feel obligated but instead of enjoying doing something else that you WILL enjoy, or perhaps using your time wisely elsewhere, you decide to go to the concert because you already paid for it.
I want to but so long as Blizzard continues to make skillless aggressive decks not only viable but wrecking the ladder, I have no intention of being nice. It's their fault for printing it. It's the players fault for not reliating against it.
Adult deck choice is a thing. You can be mature in your deck selection. Tired of people convincing themselves all decks are built the same. They are not.

I agree with you, OP. Blizzard could do better with their game, but in the end its the community spreading all the negativity without even trying to see something positive.

I've read the article and it seems specious at best. Anyway mob mentality indeed exists but it cannot be held accountable for every dissatisfaction by a group of people.

Fair enough, i did not bother with hsreplays and other site's data aswell.

Wait, wut? What to discuss? It's the creator's resposibility to make clear how his deck works and be honest about it. If you vote beg, lie about winrates and you do not make at least a basic guide, then you receive criticism. This is simply backlash for being a manipulative douche, not negativity by the community. There are some idiots who blame the decks for their shortcomings but they are exception, not the norm.

Sorry this is total bs. The majority of us do not even care about the current meta but they are fed up with the way Activision treats the game as a whole. 0 new game mods since tavern brawl, 0 add ons to the game like achievements and other unlockables, 0 quality of life changes and i could go on forever. The game is basically the same since the release and this is unexceptable. Metas come and go, the laziness in this game has been here forever and it seems like it will stay. This is not salt, this is an objective conclusion.
Honestly i sometimes wonder if these accounts are made by Activision employees to sway away the criticism. The train of thought of the original comment does not make sense either. It's basically this:
Stop trying to defend Blizzard they brought this kind of discussion on themselves I 100% agree with sherman and jainaishot it's exactly that the game is the same since beta + tavern brawl there were very few QOL changes to the game client since release.
not going for the players on the game economy as well as missing the point on why the game becomes stale so fast relying on stuff like rotations to keep the game fresh while keeping the staleness for way too long. There are endless solutions for this but does Blizzard listens? nah they prefer their casual mobile audience that longs in once per 3 months
I found this to be an interesting read this morning:

OP, you are confusing being realistic with being pessimistic. They are two different things. ;)
Why should we be happy when Blizzard laughs in our faces?

I second this. OP does not not what he is talking about
