Just going to throw it out there that I'm being very patient waiting for news about warcraft 3.
I'm pretty excited for this new year. Totally new meta with even and odd out of standard. Cards like The Lich King and Lesser Emerald Spellstone are rotating out too. It's going to be a totally fresh meta in standard. I think Hearthstone is about due for it too.
To be fair Facelles, I always have found rank 5 to be a bit weird compared to ranks +4 and ranks 6 - 9. There is something odd that happens to the meta at those bumper ranks. Probably due to there being a skew of players at the bumper ranks.
TLDR: If people are angry, it gets other people angry. If people are happy, it gets other people happy.
Kind of a no brainer but interesting that they have data to support that statement. I bring it up because I've been an active reader / occasional poster on HearthPwn for a while. Originally found the discussion on different decks, and still do, to be really interesting and has helped my play. In fact, it is something that is lacking from HSReplay; they are more of a just a dump of analytics.
These days, there is a lot of saltiness going around. People demanding guides for posted decks as oppose to discussing what mechanics make them work. As well, posts demanding nerfs or proclaiming HS is dead. It is all pretty negative.
Honestly, I still enjoy HS, I watch popular players on Twitch, and yes, I deal with the analytics dump that is HSReplay. So a lot of the negativity on HearthPwn isn't really due to the game in my opinion. The community here has just soured. I would love the community to turn around but I kind of think what is needed is some sort of "anti-salt" Chrome plugin.
I'm not a priest player but I also like the card. I think it is really effective and requires intelligent application as bickel discusses.
I also think Blizzard is going to nerf the card unfortunately. Based on how they have been nerfing cards lately, if a card ends up in the overwhelming majority of decks for a class, they'll alter it.
