I am curious. Why, after a new expansion comes out do you decide to play Odd Paladin with no new cards, instead of experimenting with new cards and actually having fun with the game ?
So winning is the only thing that makes the game fun for you ? I just cant seem to grasp the psychology of it. If i were playing "just to win" id have quit a long time ago.
I don't think it is the only thing. But I personally, for instance, like winning. And if I have a Paladin win Quest or I would like playing Odd Paladin (which I sometimes do), I would play it, in particular if it increases the chances of winning.

Fun is a pretty subjective thing ...
If i had the paladin win quest, id make a lynessa immortal prelate deck, utilizing all the new shiny cards to try and do spectacular things. I would not mind if it took me longer time to get the win, id have fun building a kick ass deck while eventually reaching the objective. Like i said, i dont get why some people just "play to win". It seems unbearably boring to me. And while i was doing this, id make people i played on the ladder go "eeeyyy a new deck, thats cool!".

I hate this thing. People are playing the same old constructed deck, zoolock everywhere ( i beat them easy with my beast wtf druid but still...). The new esxpac is dropped and people not play new cards. They are waiting for pro player lists to netdeck like children
If you're talking about casual game mode, yes I already ranted about this in salt thread.
It was fun when Odd paladins rate was pretty low in casual game mode until new expansion released. It's sad really. All I faced are odd paladin, odd rogue, zoolock, and even tempo mage. I'm talking about casual mode. I played it from morning till night and most of decks I've seen are people playing no new cards except spellhunter. I've found only poor healadin, and rarely warriors and priests. Odd mage? Just once a day.
All people are different. I love to try out new deck ideas and it's what I play HS for, which means I've got to deal with losing.
Some people play for rank exclusively and take advantage of people like me when a new expansion comes out by playing the best decks they can find online.
Some people are free to play, and don't have enough cards from the new set to make a viable deck, so have to play "old" decks.
And some people refuse to look past their own circumstances, so get salty about people who play this game for any reason they don't agree with.
I know it's kind of frustrating playing new unrefined decks against those established Tier 1 decks, but overall I noticed a lot of people are playing new decks. Let's hope it will take a while before everyone winds back to the old Malygos Druid, Deathrattle Hunter and Odd Paladin.

You're right. Fun is a pretty subjective thing as pretty much many things are.
BUT
Some of our habits are actually not healthy for us and can be stopping us from getting to the essence of what actually matters. For instance, if winning is all You care about then You're missing the bigger picture of the GAMEPLAY itself. You're only focused on the final result here while winning only takes seconds but the whole matchup can last for like 20 minutes. Why not have fun through all this time and not only when you know it's a win.
Sometimes, what we think is actually good for us, might be just biased by our beliefs.
I dont play Paladin, but for me fun means also winning the games. Climbing the ladder susscessfully. I would rather be rank 2 with strong and maybe less attractive deck than be stuck and rot in rank 10 with some funny deck...I ended up November as a rank 3 player and Im happy about it so I can simply enjoy the fun in this game. Of course Im sometimes playing also less strong and more fun decks, but only in Casual mode or maybe even Arena, but not for Ladder and climbing.
Could You try to explain to me, what so spectacular You find in ending with high rank while playing boring auto played decks? Yes it is fun for You to win and all. But why? What's your thinking process behind it?

Auto played decks? so all tier 1 and tier 2 decks are boring?? I play ladder and its about winning and I just play the Class I like and the decks I like and try to win a few games and climb the ladder, whats wrong about that? wtf

You can't be that naive right? Winning is fun. I get that you're trying to belittle his way of playing the game, but it frankly just makes you look stupid. Let me explain his thinking process to you, as I'm sure you probably know as well: He likes winning. He enjoys beating people in a competitive environment. For some people, winning is more fun than messing around with bad decks at lower ranks. Different people, different tastes.

It only makes you look stupid and one-sided to think that winning is all that matter. And if for some1 it's all that matters then he's missing bigger picture and parts of having fun that are actually more relevant and provide more joy. Maybe you'll understand it one day. For some people it just comes later :)

Why do you even bother when winning is not important to you? Let them have fun with their boring decks and you can use your creative new experimantal Buff mage. You figured out how you can have fun losing, he has fun winning, seems to me like a win-win situation...

Winning against unrefined decks that likely can't handle the pressure?

It seems nobody likes to have fun in casual mode.
I like elementals and totems.

Odd Paladin did get some new cards this expansion (Bloodclaw and maybe Saronite Taskmaster and Drakkari Trickster), maybe he just didn't draw/ play them?

What decks do you climb with then?
Because I quickly had to win a game for my daily quest and didn't have time to open 150 packs and create a deck.

Also, maybe the opponent played happily some funky experimental decks the first day 16 hours straight....
And got punished by Kingsbane Rouge , Zuhljin etc. So he was; f... this stupid stuff, it would be so bad vs aggro....
And there you have your Odd Pally player.
It only makes you look stupid and one-sided to think that winning is all that matter. Maybe many people just want to climb fast to rank 5 to be able to experiment there without losing ranks?
There they can try out new deck variants in the ladder format.
