I'm trying to do that desperately but nothing. Mill rogue my opponent concede or kill me. only time they didn't I played Elise on turn 5 and played 6 coldlight oracle or more, with the result that my opponent died of fatigue, and I finished with 2 cards in the deck, a coldlight oracle and the goddamn map.
I managed to play the Monkey about 6 times already in Priest.
Problem is: in order to play the monkey the board must be in your favour already, you're not going to comeback from a loss with your hand and deck filled with 7+ mana cards.
Also pray to RNGesus because there is a lot of bad Legendaries.
Other thing I noticed at least for me, even if you play a normal Elise/Map/Monkey, some of the legendaries you receive are golden ones.
Guys I think if you have Gold cards in your deck, Elise replaces THOSE cards with Golden Legendaries. Seems to fit right when the Monkey pops for me.
I'm having a blast with her even if she's inconsistent. The key is to hold off on using the Monkey until all the top quality cards in your hand are gone.
I'm using her in an Oil Rogue deck and she gave me a Varian Wrynn in hand, which in turn pulled Ysera, Ragnaros and Al-Akir (which I used to clear the board). The control warrior I was facing conceded immediately. So ridiculous and fun :)
In order to use her effectively you must not 1)build the deck entirely around her.2)take out one card from your deck and put her in. I think you must go for something in between, that is my opinion.
Some of you guys are so lucky. I only managed to pull off golden monkey twice in out of 16 matches of C.Priest, in which only one match where casting Golden Monkey actually mattered and saved my life.
The other match where Golden Monkey came out with all the fanciful entrance and all that, my opponent was like -
Well as far i can tell, Elise should be used as a aditional win condition, if u build u deck around a card that need to be drawn, that is quite bad, but on decks that on its core is trying to make the game longer like control warrior she should be a tool to enhance that deck power and make it good when it run out of resources, its like this card was created to fit into fatigue decks and give those decks another way to win the games
I've been doing surprisingly well with... Control Hunter. OH MAN ITS SO FUN. I only run two bombs. Only two cards will close off the game for me: Nexus-Champion Saraad and Elise Starseeker. Then I have Reno Jackson and a good set of removal. Smart trap placements and NO Mad Scientist, as he can put a trap in play at the wrong time. Hunter's Mark combos well with Wild Pyromancer and Dreadscale. Sir Finley Mrrgglton helps get me valuable Hero Powers based on the matchup, and then comes the bombs. Nexus-Champion Saraad is played over Dr. Boom due to the ability for NCS to net more long-term value. I played NCS, Hero Powered, and then Duplicate on turn 10. Amazing...
But the real star of the deck definitely is Elise Starseeker.... to the point where I lost a game because she was spawned out from an opposing Deathlord. Q_Q But one of the times Starseeker worked for me, I kept her in my beginning hand, and then was able to play Golden Monkey while I had 15 cards left in the deck. Normally I wouldn't, as that's too early and I wasn't ready to change my control cards to bombs, but the opponent and I both only had 1 card in hand. It was the perfect time to be proactive. I picked up Justicar Trueheart and turned my Hunter's DRUID Hero Power into Dire Shapeshift, while Mal'Ganis and Hogger are in play. Making valuable trades, I came back from a 10 life point game all the way to 21 life before they were able to kill Mal'ganis. But it was too late and I had way too many bombs for him to stop.
I haven't had the chance to test it yet but the prospect of losing all of my deck's synergy and spells made me doubt she'd be any good and hearing how great she's been for you guys surprises me. Is she really this good or are people just having fun with it?
Normal decks have synergy, a functional mana curve, removal, burn, reach, buffs, (sometimes) heals in calculated numbers. Sure, there are some great legendaries, but there are also a lot of terrible ones. And you're forfeiting all of that for a random smorgasbord of oranges.
I guess by the time you've drawn through your deck to the monkey you probably don't have a ton of cards left or need removal?

Notable times: Down to fatigue. Opponent had one card in hand and something else I can't remember in play. I have 3 cards in hand, when I play the Golden Monkey. I turned three cards into Eydis Darkbane, Nozdormu, and Rhonin. Eydis soaked up Shadow Bolt and then Nozdormu and Rhonin won me the game.
Another time, I had 5 in hand, 1 in deck. I turned the five cards in my hand to Millhouse Manastorm, Alexstrasza, Malorne, Gormok the Impaler, and Rend Blackhand. I don't know what card was in my deck, the opponent conceded. He knew he didn't have enough removal for 6 legendaries.
Lastly, you can read my post from the previous page on how Elise turned out when I had 15 cards left..
Honestly, yes, you removal all synergy in you deck, but less than 10% of the possible legendary pickups are bad. Like Lorewalker Cho and Nat Pagle isn't something you would want, and maybe Millhouse Manastorm and King Mukla aren't quite grand as well. But for each one of those guys you get, you also get a plethora of high powered bombs. You must play Elise ASAP, and the Map when you have the time (don't play it if you need to do something else). Then play Golden Monkey when your opponent has almost no cards in hand and little to nothing on board. She gives decks big powerful minions, and this helps when some decks need alot more removal / heal / protection / etc. to keep themselves alive.
I'd say the #1 downside of Elise is that you'll probably only play one minion per turn since they cost alot.
The card is perfect for control priest. Just run every board clear priest has plus some draw minions (I use loot hoarders and azure to cycle). Remove your opponents minions the whole game, until their out of steam, play your golden monkey or stall, then you always win the late game! I don't just jump right on the monkey when I draw it, I throw in a lightbomb or some board clear always first.

One sure way to win with Golden Monkey is to somehow get it from your Sky Golems.

I've been having a blast with mill rogue and this card, I even went out of my comfort zone and posted my first deck!

So far I've either already won, lost or, most common, my opponent has conceded before I could even draw the map.

Card is a lot of fun in Taunt Druid, the rage is real.
