After more playtesting I have decided that Elise is not that good. In fact, the best part about her is her 3/5 body. Other than that, she's pretty useless untill u or ur opponent has basically nothing left. However, at that point, I'd rather keep my removal and whatever I have in my hand.
I'm fact, Rafaam has won me more games than Elise has and I've played less games with Rafaam... Rafaam is an amazing card in control warrior as its another threat and gives you another win condition aside from Grom.
I could make a deck with 30 legendaries and it would suck.... Everyone saying how good Elise is is really just kidding themselves. She'll win you games you were going to win anway but it's gonna be rare when you can throw the Idol and feel safe about it.
Everyone's whose played the Idol against me lost easily right after.
Everyone who is saying Elise is bad is using her in the wrong decks. She is suppose to help you win fatigue and control matchups, wuile not being a liability herself since a 4 mana 3/5 is totally playable an extra golden monkey in your deck means she just added value into your deck without even taking account of the battlecry.
Things like this screenshot are what worry me about Elise. Sure, it looks like you won the game. But out of 11 legendaries, you got -
Fizzlebang - 6 mana 4/4, effect does nothing for a mage. Horrible value.
Kragg - 7 mana 4/6 taunt. Not a played/competitive card without other pirates in the deck. Bad value.
Leeroy - 5 mana 6/2 charge. One of the better legendaries you got, good for reach/finisher considering Elise takes away all of your spells. Good pickup.
Gazlowe - 6 mana 3/6. You have no 1 mana spells to activate his effect because all of your spells have been turned to legendary minions. Horrible value.
Geddon x 2 - 7 mana 7/5. Pretty decent pickup, good stats and decent effect. But you have board control so playing him could easily hurt you. Obviously you're going to win this one anyway but your geddon was about to kill half your board next turn. I'll call this good value to be generous.
Mimiron's head - 5 mana 4/5. Not the worst stats in the world but certainly not a playable card without his effect, which you're not going to activate with a random legendary deck. Mediocre/bad value
Mekkatorque - 6 mana 6/6. Again, not the worst pickup in the world but worse stats than boulderfist ogre while giving a card that is for all intents and purposes neutral. Once again, not a playable card.
Eadric - 7 mana 3/7. Stats are bad for the cost but his effect could be useful. Looks like it probably wasn't here but it easily could. I'll call this a neutral/good pickup.
Brann/Loatheb - solid pickups. Not much else to say here. It looks like you got to combo them for +10 to spell cost so that's pretty cool.
Out of 11 cards, you got 5 ones that are worse than anything played in any deck while grabbing maybe 2 or 3 cards that you'd add a second copy of if you could. You've lost all your spells and synergy and replaced them with cards that, for the most part, are so bad as to be unplayable in normal decks and certainly would not be played together. It turns out your hand was pretty bad to start with, (shield slam is a pretty much dead card for a mage and mortal strike isn't the best) which makes the outcome a bit more palatable, but I just don't see how this card is really going to improve your position when played most of the time. It appears you were winning quite handily already, with a huge card advantage and board control.
Some legendaries are bad to put in decks but not bad to have it for "free".
It's a solid plan B in binary combo decks that have a lot of draw and survival mechanics, I was playing it in infinite fireball combo mage and had a lot of games come down to being able to Echo of Medivh a lot of 2 drop minions and then convert them into legends with the Monkey, it's really useful to be able to play out your combo pieces without fear of losing your only win condition like when your Voidcaller drops Jaraxus in Renolock and you want to cringe.
Well as far i can tell, Elise should be used as a aditional win condition, if u build u deck around a card that need to be drawn, that is quite bad, but on decks that on its core is trying to make the game longer like control warrior she should be a tool to enhance that deck power and make it good when it run out of resources, its like this card was created to fit into fatigue decks and give those decks another way to win the games
Picked her during my priest Arena drafting and it's prrrrretttty good so far.
Got some good RNG, and managed to play her on turn 4 in the two games I played so far. Found the map and got the monkey before turn 10 too. The first opponent conceded after seeing the monkey (though I do have slight board control and card advantage). Killed the second with the help of Illidan Stormrage andGrommash Hellscream.
It seems to be a decent pick for Arena, especially during late games and paying 4 mana for a vanilla 3/5 isn't that bad too.
At first I thought Elise would be great in CWarrior and CPriest but after testing her the last days I reached the conclusion that she is amazing in Renolock because of the hero power, Reno to allow for comeback scenarios before you play the monkey and Jaraxxus to have an OP hero power+weapon to interact with the board even when you use the monkey. She is good in CPriest too but I feel she isn't as good in CWarrior, I think the older list running more big threats is still superior.
Then I watched a LOT of asian twitch streamers playing Patron Warrior with Elise there and I thought "What the hell???". Then I saw Eloise and Zalae also playing Elise in their Patron decks and I decided to give it a try. Turns out she is pretty good in that deck too. Basically Patron Warrior is very good against Aggro decks but is weak against Control decks like Renolock, CWarrior and CPriest. Elise gives you an alternative win condition against those decks by playing the monkey nearing fatigue and turning your Whirlwinds, Ghouls, Slams, all your anti-aggro cards into legendaries. With the crazy card draw that Patron has getting the Golden Monkey against those decks is also not an issue.
I am happy to see Elise seeing play amongst the pros. LOE turned out to be a pretty good expansion after all.
I think shes pretty decent in CW too, but i had to modify the standard list a bit to make her work. I added a ghorehowl which helps controling the board the turn you play the golden monkey. If youre able to get tempo with high cost legendaries in your hand youll just win. Also i put monkey and revenge for ysera and alex. With that im having decent winrates against aggro and very good winrates against control! Midrange is a nightmare for me, but i guess that is for every CW at the moment.
If your deck is designed to just deal with your opponent's board instead of actually win the match until you get the Golden Monkey... Just think about the possibilities! ;)
I crafted a golden Elise. Most fun card to arrive to date.

There once was a man from Nantucket...

So yeah, very please with her so far...
There is btw great potential in Elise Starseeker.

Having a lot of fun. I put her in a healing control priest with some extra draw.
