There are cards that generate other cards. Cards like Blink Fox and Academic Espionage. Therefore, after a full set rotation where the card pool shrinks, Blizzard has to print a lot of bad cards that won't see play so that the cards that generate other cards aren't nearly as powerful.
That's the entire reason Glacial Mysteries was printed. No one wanted to use that card and it had to be ridiculously over-costed because it was printed to nerf Primordial Glyph and Primordial Glyph reduces a card's cost by 2.
Guys correct me if I am wrong. I can see this card is another RENO card , it can fill your lost heal with an armor to whatever the turn you reach in case you obtain it early game, and it keep grows up each turn so it may become +30 armor or more. Am I right ?
Would rather put magma rage in my deck rather than this garbage, so not even the 3460th pick for a card slot in a reno deck
Wow this is bad. 4 turn in hand just to be as good as a 4 mana iron hide
Even at 3 mana I m not sure I d play that. 7 turns in hand just to be as good as an ice barrier?
11 turns to just be a greater healing potion/ branching paths without the other choices?
Yeah maybe it s good after 19 turns in hand, but if you re still alive after 20 turns with a dead card in hand, you probably didn't need the armor in the first place. At least it s not an epic, so I won t care if I unpack this
Edit: also the card art makes no sense compared to its effects. It s almost like they had something completely different in mind, like " add 1 bomb in your opponent s deck, upgrade each turn" and figured that it was too OP and made a last minute decision to nerf it into something completely unimaginative.
Pretty sure given the art it did summon boom bots and they changed the effect at some point because it was hard to balance it? That would also explain why the new effect is so underwhelming.
This is not a good card, but I think it's better than people are giving it credit for. In a deck that wants to go all the way to fatigue, you could definitely be holding onto this for a very long time, and it will potentially be granting you more armour with a single card than anything else available in standard. Is that enough reason by itself to put it in your deck on purpose? Probably not, but I don't think it's all that far off being playable either.

Believe it or not, but this was actually my very first thought, when I saw the card. I said to myself, that gaining extra armour would be good against combo burn decks (old-school freeze mage), but then I looked at the spell again and it seemed way too clunky/slow for a constructed deck. It's also a horrible top-deck against aggro in its current state. Dunno; I have a feeling, that we might see cards, which upgrade schemes so this might become playable.
My theory: Up until yesterday this card (1) summoned boom bots or (2) put bombs in you opponents deck. Bliz realized that was insane and changed at the least minute to armor gain. Hence the image not matching the text and the terrible card consistent with Blizzard over-nerfs
Maybe true! In any case, it is a flavor failure. :/

Shitty card to nerf thief rogue
I am not sure it's even worth it to keep just for the collection.
Just Dust it and forget this card was ever printed.

What is this shit?

Objection!!!
A Control Warrior can hold a Shield Block in hand for a very long time before using it.
The card draw issue may be relevant, but I think that depends on your armor needs vs. your card draw needs.
Having both cards available will do a lot to make up for the loss of Baku.

As the previous poster mentioned this card could be playable, but in-order for it to be playable the meta would have to terribly boring.
reasonable if it was 2 +2*number of turns armor

Best card ever meta defining

"Let me change your mind..."
This is pretty bad.
I can imagine an extreme fatigue deck playing this, but I don’t think I want to do that.
Needs to be in your hand for 12 turns to be worth anything. That should tell you enough.
It's possible that the card keeps its armor gain after getting Dead Man's Handed. If that's the case infinite 20 armor for 4 mana sounds pretty sweet.
RenoJackson#11673
I mean, if it upgraded at 2 armor, would it be playable?
It's crazy that druid is better at armor gain than warrior.
The picture is Dr.Boom going to self destruct with his opponent, so he gain armor to survive the blast.
