Tempo secret mage already is strong, the deck level up with this new card.
Yes, and some people say the legendary weapon is garbage, imagine a tempo secret mage with 4 card for turn with Fireballs, free secret plays and this new card never fail to remove a big minion or hit hard the face.
This is going to suck to have to play around. There are now 4 mage secrets in standard that trigger when a minion is played (Mirror Entity, Potion of Polymorph, Frozen Clone and this). What is the optimal way to play around all of these? Something like Tainted Zealot wouldn't be too bad against any of these. What else?
why do people have such terrible taste in cards? This is utter garbage. Face damage isn't very relevant in this game and this card is no better than potion of polymorph which sees absolutely no play. Potion of polymorph is sometimes better in that it takes care of deathrattles. You spend 3 mana playing this and I play firefly. I lose 4 hp and gain a 1 mana 1/2 and you lose 2 mana, I'll take that trade any day.
I think that this card has a power level greater than other previously released secrets. Right now I'm thinking of the polymorph one, of the mana bind, maybe vaporize. So my question would be - do you guys think, that this card will find a home in popular decks? Am I correct to state, that tempo (or burn) mage would use this instead of mirror image. Because think about it - against aggro decks you rarely get something good from this secret, you could at least concentrate on dealing damage to the opponent's face and racing him down. Explosive runes may be counterable, but I think this also contributes to the main strategy of the deck - maybe not that much regarding the tempo aspect, but like I said, more in pressuring the opponent. Because let's face it - control decks also try to minimize the value you will get from mirror; normally I, playing controllock, try to give my secret mage opponents a mistress of mixtures, a worthless 1/3 demon taunt or a doomsayer.
What I'm saying is - is that when you are paying 3 mana price for a spell, you don't lose the effect, which you paid for. You will either kill/damage a big minion or you will play the aggressive (burn) role, and you will rush down your opponent. So am I right of wrong for thinking like this?

Face damage isn't relevant in Control vs Control, it is very relevant in some other matchups.
Wow, a mage secret with no downside. Auto Include in pretty much any mage deck. I'm curious how it interacts with divine shield. Does the opponent take 6 to the face or does the shield eat all of the damage.

"Utter garbage"?
Fireball for 4 manas is great, this one is for 3 and split the damage exactly in the necessary to kill the minion and opponent, face damage is only irrelevant if you playing control, if you play aggro, tempo or midrange every single damage opponent take counts.

Big Buff for Argent Squire, Counter all secrets mage triggered with played minions.
Here's a video I made talking about this card: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wMQl7h6eSQ
Tl;dw, it's exactly what a good secret should be.
I started making the video when it was still called the "Fluffy Fire Rune", so... that's embarrassing. Oh well, these things happen I guess.

Can someone please explain the 'Fluffy' joke?
I want my fluffy rune back.:(
I am not a Mage player, just thought my avatar would go with my name.

So I want to ask something:

I am very much stretching here but to test secrets, Shieldbearer Tech !
OK not really...
If you start turn 3 with the board as secret mage, then you will negate your opponent's answer and keep pounding him
Im pretty sure this will see a lot of play.
Im a such a hard try that i will play it in a wild tempo mage.

First card so far that made me say “nice” at first glance
And i don’t even play Paladins
