This card is bad. But I voted playable, because of the rant and crying about it. I will play it and laugh about people rage conceding versus a River Crocolisk 😀
WARNING: Therapeutic rant incoming. Downvote if you must, I really don't care.
Wow. WTF Blizz?
One of your core design philosophies was 'fun', was it not? You outright stated that you never plan on implementing cards that discard things from your opponent's deck or hand, because it isn't fun to play against. Worse still, this card doesn't even have an effect on the game on average.
Fatigue aside, this is no different from 'put a random card on the bottom of your opponent's deck' (which, note, does absolutely nothing), except that it's less fun. If someone plays this and it removes Tirion or something of the like, you better believe I'm going to get salty. And I'm the kind of person who keeps his cool against Quest Rogue. But this?! This card is the epitome of bad design. I can confidently say I have never seen a worse card in my life, and given that I've been on the CDCs for over a year, that's saying something. Let's break it down:
This card is not fun to play, nor fun to play against.
This card is not interesting, it doesn't enable interesting decks or combos of any sort.
This card does not promote any strategy for either player.
This card has no flavor, no theme, no cohesive story that makes sense.
This card relies entirely on RNG to be useful, and is poorly balanced.
If anyone, anyone plays this card, I will BM you to the ends of the earth. As someone who deliberately plays quickly out of respect for my opponent's time, if you put this abomination in your deck, I will rope you every single turn (and I play control, mind). And as someone who finds whine threads distasteful, I will open a new thread every week to discuss how hideously-designed this card is, until it is nerfed into oblivion.

How tf could you become a card design champion?
This thread is hillarious. So many people complaining about a card that pretty much does nothing. What I really don't get is: How can so many of you NOT get that it is TOTALLY irrelevant whether a card is burned or discarded from your deck unless the game goes into fatigue? And hell, how often does that happen?
Not fun and interactive? I call this card very fun, just because of you people who apparently don't understand the game enough to see how irrelevant its effect is. And it is very interactive whenever someone rages about a discarded Archmage Antonidas, just because they don't understand that Antonidas could just as likely have been the last card in their deck, or just as likely to burn an irrelevant card to draw into your perfect answer a turn earlier.
Yes, it is RNG. But if you don't like RNG, you're definitely playing the wrong game. Get over it - Hearthstone is, and always has been: RNG.
I'm amazed to see all of these reactions. The only time this influences the game in any way right now, aside from letting people know what they need to either wait for or play around, is if you enter fatigue or have drawn all of your cards. Since your deck is in random order, pretend that this card is, 'reveal the bottom card of your opponents deck and destroy it'. This is literally the same effect as that card would be.
However... I have a feeling this won't be the case by the end of the expansion. If you hate this card right now, you're going to really hate where I think they might be going with this in warlock. I think Warlock is going to get some beneath the grounds style mechanic to work with this card, and is going to be able to fill up your deck with terrible cards, and I have a feeling that the new warlock hero power is going to support that. Maybe they'll give you ancient curses or something like that, it would kinda fit the theme from the comic of Guldan corrupting Rexxar and Malfurion.
so is this the first of some kind of mill strategy they are going to start giving warlocks? i always hated mill decks in mtg i hope this is not the case
I have a superficial complaint about this card. I think Blizzard's ability to name cards is merely average at best. I think this is the first 'vampire' card ever introduced in the game and they didn't give it 'lifesteal'. Ben Brode & friends have touted 'lifesteal' as the new major keyword of the expansion (so far, it feels like there are more freeze cards than 'lifesteal' cards). I always find that remembering the name of a card is easier when it accurately describes the picture and/or the effect it is given. The community does a much better better job of naming cards than Blizzard does. I enjoy watching Kripp's user created card videos and the Value town workshop segment. I am consistently amazed at how accurately and creatively the community can name cards. It is hard to talk intelligently about the game when you can't remember the card names with an ever expanding collection. We often see this problem from casters during tournaments. I think it time to let the community have a few shots at naming some of the cards Blizzard!
The only thing this card will do is enrage your opponent if it hits something important. It's not like it provides you a benefit. Just terrible design by Blizzard. Should have gone with a better designed card like this:
this card will be pretty bad, amazing to see al this hype for this bad card...
it will not see play in any competitive deck
Right? What the hell is going on, it feels like we're missing out on some ironic joke. Have THIS many people never played any other TCG with trash cards like this? I mean, Fellreaver did this to yourself add infinity and that was considered a NEGLIGIBLE drawback.

How is that better design? Yes your opponent is drawing a card off the Counterfeit Trinket but you most likely be denying him a prophecy (Well the card might not be a prophecy but you're still probably popping a rune without risking anything) and not only you take a card away from him you also get to use it.... I know that doesn't happen often but what if you're playing against Yellow and you steal their Miraak while they get something like Execute? How is that fair? In my opinion both cards are badly designed....
The first true card that can directly mess up with oponnent's cards, dirty rat had a downside. Love it!
"Battlecry: Remove Leeroy Jenkins, Tirion Fordring, or the exact Shadow Word your opponent is praying for next turn from your opponent's deck."
Terrible card design, blizzard should be ashamed.
Question, we will see the card opponent lost like when they overdraw?

Yugioh rip off
Dibbity don't touch that!
Counterspell is a worse offender than this.
Coldlight Oracle is a worse offender than this.
Hex and Polymorph are worse offenders than this.
Never getting to PLAY your card is better than playing your card, and having the card AND the mana spent to play it invalidated.
...
But it is only ever good against a Jade druid who's got 2 or less cards in his deck, AND spent his last Jade Idol from hand.

best card of the set until now
Very poor design. Just randomly mess with your opponents cards, no actual interaction.
Absolutely agree, I hope it will not find a lot of play.
