I think that would be fair. A hero portrait aint nothing. A Legendary minion though makes it worth it. It takes hours to beat him each time as you restart 9 million times anyway. Reward is not currently worth the time

Then don't play the match 9 million times. To do that thought you'd have to at least be decent at the game and know how to build a deck, much easier to come here and cry about how you should be gifted half the legendaries of an expansion with little to no effort. Talk about entitled little brats. If you want the DKs craft them or open enough packs to get them all, you aren't entitled to anything and if you don't like it you know where the uninstall button is.
Ah yes, the "I did a good job and the reward isn't the perfect reward for me" thread.
Look, you got 6 free packs and a free DK already. Many people really like alternate hero skins. These people tend to be the ones that play a ton and have huge collections. Huge collections mean an easier time against the lich king and therefore it is a reward that makes sense. Sorry there isn't enough incentive for you but you aren't forced to do it either.
Such a stupid remark. They've given out more free content in KoFT than they ever did for 3 years, yet there are still crybabies to complain. Just like heroic bosses gave card backs in the past, beating the lich king with the 9 classes gives a cosmetic reward. That's how it always is for hard challenges. Players who face these challenges do so for the sake of it, for going further than normal, not because they're entitled to even more freebies. These rewards are here to attest a player's effort, not give them money/time worth of stuff. The latter was done through the 6 free packs and the free DK hero cards. That's enough, really enough, for a game that is already F2P to begin with.
Hearthstone has always been kind of... underwhelming in the rewards department.
Just look at the reward for getting Legend in Ranked Play: three random golden commons, a random golden epic, and the seasonal card back. 550 dust for busting your ass this month. For winning Tavern Brawl, you still just get a single classic card pack. It's consistently disappointing.
The most "giving" this game has ever been was during the fire/frost festivals, and those rewards came with little to no challenge. If you want a silver lining, I guess you could say that HS focuses on personal achievement rather than tangible gratification.
Overall, I was surprised they didn't hand us another KTF pack and tell us to piss off. I'll take this hero portrait and run with it.
I agree that the overall reward level feels fairly disappointing for a casual player who would generally prefer free packs or cards to cosmetic benefits. A free hero card for EVERY victory seems waaaay too much though, I'd say a free DK card (non-duplicate) after all 9 wins would be a more compelling reward.
The comparison to keep in mind is how long would you have to play F2P to get enough gold to buy enough packs to get a legendary. If you average 50 gold per day (very achievable for most) and spent it all on packs, on average it would take 40 days to get a legendary. I'd expect most players with a relatively mature card collection, even F2P, should be able to get the 9 wins within 40 days of playing. So if you're asking for a DK each time, you're asking for this fight to be on average 9 times higher rewarding than general play...
I do think the game could be a bit more generous, but that's probably too far.
since we got a free dk card for the prologue, im more than fine with the rewards this time. arthas is cool, although id like to have another class alternative portrait, since i already got a paladin one.
I've actually beat him 1st try with Jade Druid ._. 9 Million times seems a little exagerated
It took me multiple attempts with Jade druid, but then I steamrolled him first try with little effort with quest priest. I never even played Amara! RNGesus, man...

I agree, but blizzard didn't want to put "necessary" content behind a skill wall. I'm guessing the thought there would be to many complaints. You can see the amount of complaints we have already just about it taking some skill and time to get Arthas. I think it's kind of cool though... you play against arthas you know it's someone who's fairly good.
Apart from the mage challenge which was ball breaking, the others were a walk in the park.As for the rewards department,hs needs to be more generous true, but what you are suggesting is waaaaaaaay to much.
Would be neat because of how it shows each hero becoming a death knight when they win. Kinda feels bad after to see the death knight and not have them.

Hello.

Please add to it. Another legendary at - at least - 10 packs and the certainty to not get duplicate legendaries.

He isn't that hard shaman, warrior, druid, rouges need just few tries. In druid I didn't even bother to change deck from standard.
'Give me everything for free BabyRage'

As if getting an entire playable adventure for free wasn't enough.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
yeah they need to make money . that would be insane if it gave you a dk everytime.
Everyone already gets a free DK.
