I think people totally forgot that standard ROTATES which means that not only cards will rotate out in 2 years at minimum, but powerful cards will be rotating out every year. Are you tired of aggro shaman? Well guess what, in a short amount of time tunnel trogg and totem golem will rotate out, and shaman will be dead! Also, the next adventure comes out quite soon and could release some cards to allow for new decks.
People who have experience with other card game (especially ones with rotating formats) will know that blizzard will not nerf and cards that aren't in classic (unless they make a SERIOUS mistake)
Also, lets get over the fact that Flamewreathed Faceless isn't an overpowered card. Sure, its strong, maybe even a bit broken, but it doesn't warrant a nerf
1. It doesn't cost 6 mana, it doesn't cost 4 mana, it costs 4 mana and 2 overload
It really annoys me when people say that this card costs 6 mana, and it also annoys me when people say it costs 4 mana. You can't simply add the overload to the mana cost, and you can't ignore it.
2. It doesn't create broken interactions
Sure, you can buff your trogg by 2 attack with it. That's cute. But does it enable crazy combos that tumble out of control within a matter of turns? (Undertaker, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Starving Buzzard + Unleash pre nerf?) No it doesn't. Also, every class has cards that answer it. If you can't answer it, you probably deserve to lose anyway, you didn't prepare for it and so you are punished.
You can say whatever you want, but you can't say that someone deserves to lose because they didn't prepare their own deck against a 7/7 on turn 4. Just, no. Having some counters is ok. Having to build my own deck to be prepared against yours is just a silly argument.
Win as you like, shaman is not broken as a whole, but the same way I stood against generalised whining against shaman, I am standing here against generalised defence of shaman as it is.
Flamewreathed Faceless and Thing from Below are just OP. You can get away with playing and winning with them, I do so too for some easy bonus rank. Just don't try to defend those cards saying that they are ok and they will rotate out of standard in 2 years. That's not an argument while we are within those 2 years. Also, you should not forget about wild.
PS: I hope you're not trying to say that (4) + overload(2) is worse than (6) in terms of cost balance.
I smell faceshaman here. Yup, that card is totally broken in terms of mana curve.
It's a very good card but it's not pre nerf Undertaker,Dr. Boom or Mysterious Challenger so it's not Broken.... What makes it seem so "OP" it's the Deck it's played in.... If it was a Priest card no one would complain.....

Why is it broken, exactly? Does it really give more value than, for example, Dr. Boom or Mysterious Challenger?
Because it's a freaking 7/7 on turn 4. That's better than a 6 mana drop and guess what it also comes 2 turns earlier. Everything that comes on the board sooner than expected, aka overload, should cost more than its stats suggest because it impacts the board in a very powerful way.
We've seen plenty of overload cards that cost more than they should. We've also seen that barely any of those cards saw any real play, even with Lava Shock. The way they look at overload now is just a risk/reward type situation. You take a risk by reducing the amount of mana available next turn, possibly costing you a lot of tempo (especially when the opponent has removal), but your reward is a powerful card a turn or two earlier.
Sorry, but rotating cards out IS NOT BALANCING. Wild Mode doesn't need simply broken cards as this card is, and you knew it. It's a 7/7 for 6 mana, even with 2 overload it is not more than 2 mana. Also Shaman now has enough interactions to remove Overload, so that's really no issue anymore. Yes, overload can be worse than actual mana spend, but you also got Tunnel Trogg
So the only thing i read in this post is: you want to keep your overpowered deck for at least another year. Sorry, but that doesn't stop people complaining because they are right. It is strictly overpowered together with the nerf of BGH.

That's also true for Mysterious Challenger: if it were a Priest card, noone would complain. Kappa.
PS. I don't think they need to nerf the card, sap, sw:d, hex, execute, they all respond timely to this minion...
Not shocked to see people defend every broken card in the game. With the amount or rng retardedness in hearthstone and the desired 50% winrate by the devs anything can happen. A 1 mana 7/7 might also be considered 'balanced' if it has battlecry "discard your hand", for example, but then there's arena where cheating curve has a big impact.
A 1 mana 7/7 that discarded your hand would be broken in a low cost rush zoolock...
Having to build my own deck to be prepared against yours is just a silly argument.
That is actually exactly what card games are about. That's actually the entire point of having a metagame.
The OP wrote that one deserves to lose if they don't have answers to Faceless. That is the silly sentence I was trying to answer to.
No. Metagame is not about having specific counters to specific cards, that only works for reactive decks. Metagame is about generalised strategy, beyond specific cards. Otherwise it would not have the meta- prefix.

Well, they do. Just like you deserved to lose to Handlock if you didn't have an answer for turn 4 Mountain Giant, just like you deserve to lose if you didn't have an answer for turn 5 Patron combo, and just like you deserved to lose if you didn't have an answer for turn 6 Mysterious Challenger, or turn 7 Boom, or turn 1 Leper Gnome, or turn 3 Muster, or turn 4 Shredder, etc. etc. etc.
Meta gaming literally means predicting what types of decks you will face, and making sure your deck works best against the field. If you expect a lot of Flamewreathed, you tech in more answers to turn 4 7/7s.

If you are still complaining about RNG in Hearthstone, after two years, you might just need to find another game. Blizzard has shown time and time again RNG is what they like, and will continue to go that direction. And no, a 1 mana 7/7 discard your hand probably won't ever be balanced.
I'm actually amazed by the fact that a lot of people are supporting my thoughts! Maybe this community is better than I though!
Don't let the vocal minority crying for nerfs bring you down! The huge amount of people playing this game shows Blizzard actually has some clue about what they are doing ;)

The latest expansion has considerably less RNG than previously introduced.
Showing that the direction they are going isn't what you say it is.

The 7/7 for 4 (2) is strong, but..
It's a class card so it should be.
It has a drawback though.
The 2 overload limit your next turn you can't play doomhamner for example.
So if your opponeent got an answer (bgh, hunters mark, fireball, hex, execute, polymorph etc..) You are screwed causeyou will make a poor play at 5.
I totally agree, just look at the most recent nerfs - all classic

Greatness, at any cost.

90% of this thread is arguing about Flamewreathed Faceless, which we already have threads for:

The remaining 10% we also have threads for.
