Your card must use the keyword Counter. i.e. it must actually Counter a spell, not a minion or weapon.
This can be done directly or indirectly (e.g. giving something the ability to Counter a spell).
Your card cannot simply produce the card Counterspell.
Your card cannot be a Legendary or weapon.
Competition Process
Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 21:00 UTC 04/Jan/2018) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts 21:00 UTC 04/Jan/2018, Ends 21:00 UTC 08/Jan/2018) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. Voting Phase (Starts 21:00 UTC 08/Jan/2018, Ends 21:00 UTC 09/Jan/2018) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Starts 21:00 UTC 09/Jan/2018, Ends 21:00 UTC 10/Jan/2018) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

We specifically want you to be Countering spells only. we don't know how the keyword would work - or even if it could work - on minions, weapons or Hero powers, since it only exists on one card.
The wording of the effect - "A card that is Countered has no effect." - suggests that Hero Powers could not be countered anyway. No idea how it would work for minions or weapons, so spells only it is.
I did this recently when I was making a bunch of 4-mana Warlock Secrets, but I think people will be too confused by a Secret for a class that doesn't have any.
This is probably the most restrictive theme we ever had...
Kinda boring. But might be the most simple version you can put on a minion.
Manashaper Rankze
A card that allows you to trade your dead spells into Tempo. One version was to buff it a bit, by also allowing battlecries in some sense, where the other is a bit weaker, but more... Clean.

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
(Yes it's 4 cards but 2 of them are very close, no delete pls)
Devour Magic - Although a Felhound is a Warlock pet rather than a Hunter one, I think it's still close enough since a Felhound is still a hound. This is more restrictive than Counterspell since it only counters spells targeted on YOUR minions. NOTE: "When a spell is cast" rather than "When your opponent casts a spell" was necessary to keep the card readable.
It was a Mimic! - Like the former but reversed. The flavor is that a buff card represents a "loot" and here the chest in which it was supposed to be was a mimic. Even though it's restrictive as well, it's potentially more powerful than the former so I hesitate to make it a 3-Cost mage secret instead.
Shadowguard - A minion that eats your spells. It has a low base statline to account for cheap spells like Backstab or Innervate that can quickly make this huge, and also to make it symetrical to Ethereal Arcanist.
Dimensius - Similar to The Darkness, except YOU control when it triggers which is why it costs 6 instead of 4. Again, the idea is that it eats your spells and after having eaten 3 it awakens.
I had a few ideas for this. Some of them were pretty much exactly what Demon posted, so probably not original enough. Here is the only other one I've had:
Cheaper than Counterspell, but much easier to play around. Does it need a buff? Would it be okay at 1 mana even?
You can use artwork from anywhere you want. People here generally like art that looks "warcraft-y", though, so don't use something that looks really weird.

My previous idea:
Which is best?
Just of quick note It was a Mimic! should say "one of their minions" instead of "one of his minions". We have female players and heros after all.

@Demox95: I prefer the Paladin version which is simpler. Rebukesounds like a good name to me.
@LittleOgreHearthstone: I don't get the flavor and the art is ugly. Also, the effect is too powerful for a Rogue secret because there's a lot of spells played that deals damage, and in those circumstances, targeting damaging spells specifically makes this MORE powerful than Counterspell!
@YHJS2000: I like the idea but the flavor is off. A book isn't a minion.
@ThisOtherGuyTox: Bouldergut would completely shit over spell-based decks. It's like Freeze/Exodia Mage but in reverse, it's cancer. The first Rankze is the best out of the bunch. The second one is too complicated.
@joedarke7: It's too powerful. It's a minion with vanilla stats and a HUGE upside, but I really like the idea of targeting expensive spells specifically, this gives a fighting chance to F2P players, so I would just suggest you to change the statline.
@Desminman: Scrap the "heal your hero" part which makes it OP and complicated and it's all good.
@nurgling13: I like the card a lot but it's very weak with this statline because it can be managed very easily. I would give it Doomsayer or even more to make it viable. This or reduce its cost to 1.

I will do something like this (with deal damage I mean all cards that are effected by spell damage):
Thoughts on balance for this? Health too high?
This theme is REALLY restrictive. Oh well, I'll try to make one anyway...
So basically two ideas.
Chieftain Bouldergut

I was considering three spells to trigger this but i think this would be unplayable in that case
I'm new. Is it ok to use LOL's artworks at here?
Sorry for my bad English ^^
Ok, I think I've got a few ideas nonetheless.
