So, I was trying to get my golden shaman last months, and I found out that shaman is nearly unplayable this days, but if hearthstone history taught me something was that they tend to overbuff something that nobody is playing. You can say that shaman was good 1 or 2 expansions ago but all ppl were playing was the disgusting aggro version which didn`t even used the mechanics they introduced for us like freeze, evolve or even the strange murloc quest shaman, so just like it happened with warlock when he was unplayable, my guess is to prepare our terrible legendaries and crap mechanics to rule the year of the raven!!!
Shaman >> Warrior. The only reliable deck that warrior can run is pirate and it got nerfed twice -FWA & patches-. There's also fatige warrior, but you must be "the choosen one" to get a winrate close to 50%, very hard to play properly but coldlights are leaving standard.
Hey! How about my miracle warrior with Grom+Woecleaver+Sudden Genesis? No? ok ... :(
I highly doubt that shaman will get a tier1 deck, but i would assume they will at least try and push freeze shaman a little bit, i mean they already created some basic tools for it that just need a bit more synergy or like good standalone cards, i doubt they will just abandon that entire archetype. warrior is still grounded because of Pirate and Quest warrior, I'm guessing they will be forgotten for at least one more expansion. Also they were pretty annoying with Grim Patrons before that.
They have a long sentence to serve before coming to the stage one more time.
I think blizzard is confused about what they want shaman to be. They make a legendary about murlocs Neptulon then a quest, suddenly they try to force a freeze architype out of thin air, then they give up and come back to evolution/overload, is really disturbing trying to build a shaman deck this days.
Honestly, with a few more control tools, control shaman could become amazing. Healing Rain is the best healing card in the game; all shaman really needs is card draw and a good win condition.

Pirate Warrior has actually been nerfed three times, you forgot Small-Time Buccaneer.
Like Massakre already mentioned, Shaman is in a much better spot than warrior atm. Basically everything warriors can do, other classes can do even better right now. I just hope Blizzard doesn't overcommit to giving warrior and shaman too much strong stuff, like they always do with underplayed classes. I think Instead of throwing one totally busted card after another at them they should give them a few good cards at a time and see how that works out.

I actually think it's good that Blizzard tries new stuff instead of continuing to support archetypes that have been around forever. I'm tired of seeing tempo mages, miracle rogues and aggro hunters every other expansion, I'd rather see people play some new stuff. And when they don't make cards for an archetype in an expansion doesn't mean they've forgotten about it. I don't think dragon priest has received any support in Un'goro and KFT but a few (very) good cards in K&C did the trick. I'd actually like to see some more freeze cards in the future so the current freeze cards might become more useful.
Looks good on paper, not so much on the game, it's nice to hex Voidlord or Doomguard but you don't always have Devolve and Hex on your hand at right time, also good warlock players know you will save your cards for that and they tend to play around it, also the new cube warlocks have 2x Mountain Giant which kind of fuck us real bad.
Mountain Giant is tough to deal with. I wonder about teching in Crushing Hand if it becomes too popular.
Ultimately, though, things shouldn't get out of hand as long as you have weapon destruction. The only taunt in their deck is Voidlord, and if you can take away one of their methods for cheating it out you can generally find lethal before they manage to get the resurrect train rolling. Between chip damage and their own lifetaps and Kobold Librarians, it's pretty easy to find a Bloodlust lethal before they can stabilize. That's if you're playing more of a token variant, though.

3 times: small time bucaneer

"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."
Hopefully not, I'm still traumatized by the haunting echoes of what felt like an eternity of literally nothing but mid-range Shaman.^^
How about nothing but control shaman? Hagatha is an 8-mana hero card, which implies a control win condition. If that's any indication of the direction they're taking shaman next expansion, we might get to see a good control shaman deck again!
Either way I'm gonna keep my N'zoth Shaman ready, Hagatha looks pretty deathrattle-y if you ask me.
We're going to see Hagatha a bunch next month. Whether we figure out what deck it's the best in might take a little bit longer but I would guarantee that it's going to become a staple and Shaman decks will be popular. I'd like to see guesses on the Hero Power, something about a cauldron similar to zombeasts. (mix 2 spells).
Looks like I was right xD, there is no chance shaman doesn't make to tier 1 with the new OP hero card. Hagatha prob have something to do with the freeze or overload mechanic I guess, shaman doesn't need new gimmicks, they need to make some of their own stuff work... evolve, freeze, overload.

No, it has still his time out after the one Year reign of midrange

I will crush you!

Problem is, it's bad right now but it's also losing most of its best cards.
The entire Jade package (Jade Claws is important for early board control), Devolve (great for taking out Dude and Murloc Paladin boards and getting through taunt walls), Doppelgangster + Evolve, Maelstrom Portal (good luck against Dude Paladin without this), Thing from Below, and Flamewreathed Faceless.
The class is only going to get so many cards next expansion; seems like they'd have to hit on almost all of them to push the class into T2 territory.

So apparently shaman is going to get a 'broken' hero card next expansion so you might be right :p

The most interesting part is that Hagatha is definitely a HERO card, you can see by looking at the twirling of the scroll where the card's name is!
I hope you are right. But many mechanics about shaman are failed so far.
Overload failed
Murlocs failed
Freeze failed
Jade meh
Evolution meh
Totems meh
IMO shaman needs more decent cards related to totem and evolution synergy mechanics
Spirits be with you man !
