Shaman recently became one of the strongest classes, known for hitting face and called the cancer. I would really love to see some different theme in Shaman.
I have posted a deck here for anyone looking for a change. I've put some serious effort in it. Although I don't have time to push for legend, I have been winning a lot and having fun.
Feral Spirit seems out of place since you don't want get overloaded too much in the early game and you have better taunt options with Twilight Guardian and Chillmaw. Also i would run one Spirit Claws at least, that card is amazing for control decks.
The other cards i suggest thinking about replacing are the Charged Hammer for another removal option and Chromaggus for a better late game dragon like Ysera or Malygos.
Feral Spirit is there to make up for the low mana curve, I have tried swapping it for Totem Golem or Blackwing Technician, but they tend to screw my Healing Wave and they do not block aggro, so I settled with this spell.
Ysera and Chromaggus are both performing very well in my experience. I am more comfortable with Chromaggus because it is one mana cheaper, and that works really well after a Feral Spirit turn, or along with a Lava Shock / new hero power (deal 2 damage). These two dragons are a close call. Malygos does not really work here, unless we swap to the Spell Damage package and include Lightning Bolt
As for your suggested cards, can you explain how would you swap them in? Thanks for the help.
I've made a different version changing the cards i talked about. I focused on being consistent against aggro so i I took out both [card]Netherspite Historian[/card] because of the Healing Wave. Of course it's gonna be weaker against control without them since it's easy to get a big dragon but i think with Elise should be fine. If you're fighting against control more often you can put them back and take out the portal and the Far Sight.
I don't think Thalnos is necessary and you have 2 Drakes already the downside on healing wave is just too big i think. The Spirt Claws is pretty good since you can use in a turn where you have a unused mana so it's basically free most of the time, and feel free to use it for 1 damage, sometimes is just what you need.
I think the problem you can have is having too many minions and no early removal, but maybe it's fine since Guardian and Corruptor are pretty good on curve.
That is the problem i don't have since i'm playing a different version with more removal and powerful late game. The only problem i'm having is against control warrior since i can't kill them i have to rely on fatigue and holding on my big minios as my win condition but it's really hard since i have a lot of removal and it becomes useless against them. So i might need Elise for sure i'm just not using her since i do fine against other types of control.
Maybe you could take out both Thing from Below for Lightning Bolt since you're not gonna be toteming in the mid game a lot. Other alternative maybe is to use Mana Tide Totem for card draw, i think this could work.
I just tried a few times without much success. I feel the need for Lightning Bolt to do some single target damage on top of Maelstrom Portal. I didn't draw into Spirit Claws for those games though, so I can't say much overall.
I am used to totem for the first 2 or three turns, which makes Thing from Below very relevant, unless facing a really fast deck. In that case, cheap removal is more important. So swapping it out for Lightning Bolt to target aggro decks is a very good idea.
Personally I don't like Mana Tide Totem too much. It is more expansive than Bloodmage Thalnos who also gets removed immediately most of the time. But it's not expensive enough to win me a Healing Wave for 14. It's nice if we keep Thing from Below, but if we don't keep it we probably throw them both away.
The problem with Dragon decks is the size of the dragon package. We do not get a lot of deck space to squeeze the full removal toolbox into. Card choice is often a headache.
I have tried swapping a few cards based on my old list. Took out Netherspite Historian and Feral Spirit for Lightning Bolt, Spirit Claws and Maelstrom Portal. I had an AWESOME victory against a Zoolock, but I think he didn't play around any board wipe like he should. Otherwise, I lost more games than wins.
I will try more on swapping between the above cards plus or minus Thing from Below.
i remember a while back during LOE, loyan was running a Dragon Shaman deck with Jeweled Scarab and did well in legend with it...
the deck fell out of favor with shaman getting great tools in WOTOG, but with The Curator being a card experimented with, I've tried messing around with a similar deck.
The basic gist of it is to run various Dragons, Scarabs for beast, and a copy of Finley to maximize Curator value. With Netherspite Historian you don't really need to run big dragons likeYsera in the list to make the deck work. Volcanic Drake combos well with AOE as well.
I don't have a refined deck yet, but I think it's worth exploring.
The same goes for me: I don't have a refined deck either.
I haven't tried The Curator yet. But Finley and Scarab were in the deck, respectively. Later though, I found Charged Hammer upgrades my hero power to synergize even better with the direct damage spells to take down threats. If I have to choose between them, I don't want to take Finley.
Jeweled Scarab is very valuable in Shamans because of the overloaded 3-cost spells. But it sometimes misses and gives a shit minion. Unlike Netherspite Historian who never fails, and has slightly better stats. They are not entirely exclusive, but together they will lower Healing Wave quite a lot, and they call for Brann Bronzebeard synergy too. They sure have their own flavor, anyone interested should go try them out.
Volcanic Drake combos well with AOE and Doomsayer for some surprise kills. I really want to find a slot for them.
i love charged hammer in control decks too, but i found it really awkward to have both the hammer and finley in the deck, so i ended up cutting the hammer
the hammer is obviously more powerful than finley, but dragon decks tend to run a bunch of midrange minions, and it can get difficult finding the 4 spare mana to play the hammer sometimes, whereas finley can be a turn 1 play
yeah the lightning jolt hero power is great in control matchups, but with brann and netherspite historian, i feel the deck doesn't really need more late game anyway
I don't have Brann Bronzebeard currently in my setup to avoid him messing up the Healing Wave, but he is quite a standard in Dragon Priests especially with double Netherspite Historian. They are worth trying. But I will do every last thing possible to preserve Charged Hammer.

Thanks for the comment.

I tried the Spell Damage package: Spirit Claws + Maelstrom Portal + Bloodmage Thalnos combo. I lost a lot with them. It would be great if I can have further advice on it.
Ysera and Chromaggus are both performing very well in my experience. I've also added Hallazeal for extra healing.
Thank you! Your help is much appreciated.
I see you have one more dragon than my version (Book Wyrm) to activate Twilight Guardian. You have the Maelstrom Portal and Spirit Claws but no Bloodmage Thalnos for early Spell Damage synergy. Do you think he can be added over one of the card draws?
I will be trying your deck a lot.

I'm using this deck
I'm not used to your list so maybe some cards are not optimal since you rely more on playing your minions or curve than mine. The other list i've played a lot is this http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/purples-nzoth-shaman-june-2016-season-27/.
If you watch Tidesoftime stream he likes to play control shaman sometimes like in this VOD https://www.twitch.tv/tidesoftime/v/91461379.
ChanmanV is also trying a dragon shaman https://youtu.be/J3IEXJ3SZEk?t=4475
Also there's a recent deck in r/competitivehs https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/comments/557h9u/control_shaman_s30_legend_destroyer_of_shamans/

Exactly, maybe you can sub Far Sight and Sylvanas Windrunner for the Lightning Bolt.

I am quite reluctant to remove Sylvanas Windrunner and Charged Hammer. Sylvanas Windrunner is doing well enough in most matchups. Charged Hammer is at the core of the deck's flavor, and it does more work to beat control decks even more than Elise Starseeker can.
That makes it difficult to find place for Book Wyrm and Hallazeal the Ascended
