Razakus takes a lot of skill, so, I don't think it should be hated on. If Miracle rogue isn't hated, then Razakus shouldn't be. They both have high skill floors, have strong combos, all that. And, anyway, with all the aggro, most Razakus priest players don't realize they have to put in more AoE and such.
The best razakus list (wich almost every razakus player use) has insane sinergy between ALL it cards. The best big priest list has the same early cards so you can handle until you have barnes or turn 6 put a 5/5 minion spell.
The think is priest decks in general have too much tools for early, mid and of course late game right now. Is not about one specific card, is all of them working together. That happen every expansion.
So, i understand that, but i still get a little bit annoying when a priest player have his early tools, so it's almost imposible bait him. Potion of madness, that lifesteal spell, circle of light with auchenai and so on.
So, may I ask, what is this decklist? I want to see what it has.
@EquinoxHS I guess you could find it on the pages with topdecks, but right now i can tell that the list im refering is the one that Zalae explain on his ytb channel.
I've been playing Priest only(A little bit of Pally) for all my time in Hearthstone, and we've been at the bottom even a meme for years.
Actually that's not true. Dragon priest and tower priest were both very strong, tier2 at least, if not tier1 (big number of good matchups).
I'm fine with what ppl hate about priest - stealing cards. That mechanic just read "get value without drawing a card, but that's a bit random and may not work for you". Yes, it's annoying to play against, but it has downside.
What I don't like is they gave priest burst damage. Priest should be a class where burst damage is either many-card-combo, or you don't have it at all. Now you have burst by just playing 2 cards in any order, and those cards have a good value by themselves.
This is what makes priest broken. Every class should have weaknesses. Now, priest is much stronger in it's weakness than even classes that are bound to be naturally strong in it, like mage. And that's the reason to hate priest in it's current form.
I don't think Priest is 'broken' any moreso than other top tier decks, but as a Priest main, I don't like where Priest is right now. I miss the days of Priest being a weak tier 2 deck, oddly. It felt like those decks were less optimized and your list was about making tech choices and playing a higher skill deck, as opposed to "Raza on 5, Anduin on 8."
And Big Priest is just dumb. I hate that this is what Priest will be for a while.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

Technically the machine gun burst from priest does, in a big way, come from playing many cards. And the priest needs to somewhat have their deck built around a good handful of lower cost cards too, so that they can best take advantage of the HP spam.
I think most hearthstone players would agree that we all hate to play against extremely uninteractive, stall & cycle OTK decks. And that’s what priest for the most part is now. Every time I lose against priest it’s because I got OTKed with Velen combo. Decks like that are what force people into playing aggro and I hate feeling forced to play something I don’t want to play, because I know if I play the slower decks I really enjoy I have almost no chance of winning against this OTK combo.

Ironically, it is due to wild greedy control Reno Priests that can manage to be extra greedy, mostly make burst/any type of reach in other control decks null and void that pressured me into actually using more of the OTK decks to beat them (after the fact that I just enjoy the OTK playstyle in general). I really think that no other classes, except perhaps warlocks, can come anywhere close as priest when it comes to producing value in control match-ups. As a result of this the class simply pushes out almost all other attempts by the other classes to play actual control decks.

Two counter-points to your statement:
1. Priest doesn't need to actually machine-gun in one turn. Playing 4-5 mana cards means you do 6 damage/turn, free fireball essentially. So you can just keep playing control, but with tonns of added damage. Say, Raza/Shadowreaper are 2 bottom cards. You can still have a hand with 9 cards, so 9*2=18 damage from cards + 2/turn, that's hella lot of directed minion/face damage, even if you spread it in 4-5 turns.
2. You don't need low-cost cards to be combo-pieces that you just carry with you until you can use them, they might be any card you actually want to be present in your deck and that is usable.
Man, they don't even machinegun any more. After Voidform costs 0, all it takes is Prophet Velen and Mind Blast to kill you from 20. Before then, the minimum damage they can do, divided up however they like, is four (this assumes they play one card each turn. If they play more, they do more.) Again, if Voidform always cost 2, the deck would not even be that good. It would be solid, just not completely broken. Oh well! Guess we can't have nice things.
It's beyond "strong" right now. I don't hate strong decks: Jade Druid is fine and always was, it has its weakness; Exodia Mage is exactly the same case; Token Druid or Aggro Shaman, to mention a couple of "dominant" decks, have also their flaws.
On the other side, Machinegun Priest (sorry, I can't stand any other name) hasn't any. While mantaing an oppressive control on the board, it can output shittons of damage ANYWHERE. Even aggro decks will struggle against it, being their main antagonist. And, again, they give it more OP cards in this expansion. No wonder Priest (mainly THIS one) is top on the Tier 1. And will be for the next MONTHS.

Calm your ass. "Razakus" hasn't been on top of Tier 1 for weeks. It's been bouncing back and fourth between Tier 1 and 3.
Oh, but it will be Tier 1 for months? Well here we are looking on this site each day to see what cards get revealed, but we've got a Hearthpwn Prophet within our midst. The wait is finally over!!!!11!
Can you reveal the rest of the cards to us? Also I'd quite like to know next week's lottery numbers.
People hate anything they see too often. Not because of the deck itself, but because having to play against the same type of deck over and over and over again, seeing the same cards again, means the game gets redundant to all but the most invested. It doesn't help that the small size of 30-card decks, and the "essential" class cards in each deck, make things feel more redundant. It just gets boring, which means there's nothing to distract you from how half the time you play the game you aren't actually doing anything.
Furthermore, this variety of Priest boasts long, involved turns from the priest player, which are frequently counter by brief turns from the opponent. So there's a gametime percentage inequality inherent to it. You opponent is literally playing the game more than you (which is a problem with miracle decks in general). And that sucks.
Barnes on turn 4 for big priest really is total bollocks. To quote The Lich King, how did that get past QA?
Even Priest mains should be universal to disliking Big Priest.
I'll admit I played it quite a bit on KoFT's release, in wild using Resurrect and Rag. It was fun for a few laughs, but really you just stall and hope you draw Barnes before 4, hope he gives you a good 1/1, hope you get what you need from resurrecting.
There's literally no decision making involved. You don't play the deck, the deck plays itself.
I initially got the impression that Big Priest was never an intended archtype, but here we can see in KaC it's receiving some support. It should not be encouraged.

Every time I get machinegunned or t4 barnes into y'shaarj'd I stare at this threat in disgust.
Fuck cubelock

I am so hyped for the new cards coming with the next expansion :D
Finally they show some love for priest :D
Duskbreaker and 7 mana boardclear that's impossible to play around have killed my hype for the upcoming expansion.

They hate it because it's strong. Everyone always hates every strong deck, whether it's hard to play or not.
Don't make me laugh.
