Here's Satellite's big spell priest he piloted to #3 and #2 legend the first week of the Kobold's meta. (Pictures from Satellite are at the end, along with video footage from several Hearthpwn content creators.)

Latest Updates: Removed the nerfed cards and went with what seems to be the best list right now in ranks 5 to legend. Faerie Dragons are great but it turns out Cabal Shadow Priests are better. Use on big minions you weaken with Twilight Acolyte.
Basic plan with this deck
1. Play minions for tempo. Buff your other minions or refill your hand. Keep putting pressure on the board. Use Faerie Dragon to contest 3 health minions.
2. Bring out your dragons to contest the midgame. Have Duskbreaker ready/activated and use it wisely! Use Twilight Acolyte to neuter big threats.
3. Pile on with big dragons Twilight Drake and Drakonid Operative.
4. As early as possible, drop Spiteful Summoner for a free 8 or 10 cost minion and a devastating board swing.
5. Leverage your big spells further with Grand Archivist or play them from hand.
List updated on 12/13 with Satellite's latest changes.
Basic mulligan strategy
Always mulligan for Northshire Cleric and Netherspite Historian.
Against aggro always keep Duskbreaker and possibly another dragon.
Against slow decks (priest mirror, control warlock) consider keeping Spiteful Summoner.
With a good hand or the coin, consider keeping Kabal Talonpriest and Tar Creeper.
Alternate 2/3 mana cards to try/substitute
Faerie Dragon
Golakka Crawler
Curious Glimmerroot
Deathspeaker
Gluttonous Ooze
Mind Control Tech
Zola the Gorgon (reuse your Duskbreaker or Spiteful Summoner!)
If you want to run Prince Keleseth, Southsea Captain and his buddy Patches the Pirate like Firebat, check out: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1004039-big-spell-prince-tempo-dragon-priest (good option if you don't have Netherspite Historian)
If you want to run more board clears like Doomsayer and Dragonfire Potion, check out: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/999316-big-spell-dragon-priest
Here's both versions of the big spell/Spiteful Summoner deck (Satellite non-pirate and Firebat pirate) sitting in the top 5 of all priest decks in the rank 1-5 meta for the week of 12/13/17-12/19/17:
Enjoy the steamroll and may the big spells be with you!
Xixo won Seat Story VIII, going 3-1 in the finals with a similar deck and clinching with big spell hunter! He also brought big spell murloc paladin!

The people saying this deck is bad aren't compensating cards for their area and rank.
And I'm happy we all are smart enough to keep our subs to ourselves.
One of the worst priest decks i have tested so far. Get wrecked by aggro und too weak and slow for control
outtempoed by aggro and tempo decks, outvalued by razakus and big spell mage...
-2x glimmerroot
+1x Skulking gaist
+1x doomsayer
Holy shit, what a great deck! First thing that's good is that it's pretty cheap - at least compared to other competitive decks. 3.6k dust for a deck that made it to a legend seems like a really great deal. Second thing - it seems to be really good. Tried it at casual first, only lost 1 game in 10 I think. Then tried it in ranked, at rank 15 I easily got 3 wins a row. Not a big number but still it worked well. Third thing - it's really fun to play (at least in my opinion). I feel like fun decks are the best decks. I really started to hate only playing hunter or other aggro/tempo decks as f2p so this deck seems like a really solid alternative, as I feel it's much more controlly than other cheap decks. One thing that at first I thought might be an issue, is that the deck might not have enough dragons to active all dragon related stuff - I was wrong though, as most of the time you do happen to have a dragon in hand to active your effects. Anyway, it's a really solid deck and I love playing it.
when you get rotface with summoner and buff him next turn with bonemare. my god tons of value lol. this deck is great
I was hardstuck rank 9 until I picked up this deck and once I learned how to use it I got rank 6 and I am still climbing!!!
Thanks I had so much fun with this deck
insane deck i love this deck so much!!!
This deck is sick. Just played a rogue and got the legendary from draknoid operative that makes them 1/1 when die. Did that twice with spiteful summoner it was so much fun. Also got shadowstep at the end.
Who can tell me what for the Spellbreaker in this deck?
I find I am using it most against warlocks voidlord
Great deck !

Incredible deck!
Great deck for me. From rank 15 to 8 with only 2 lost games and still ranking up. Just - 2x [card]Curious Glimmerroot [/card] and +2x [card]Shadow Ascendant [/card]
Is there any counter to this deck? I am getting destroyed by this, and i am only finding priest playing this 7 out of 10 games :(
Notice that this deck doesn't run board clears except Duskbreaker. Realizing that I could be more bold by extending my side of the board and going face helped me. I've been playing a wacky recruit Druid and the few times I lost was mostly because of some crazy high rolls with Spiteful Summoner and Grand Archivist.
any replacement for grand archivist? Should I craft for this deck, or can i easily play without it?
It doesn't seem essential per say, but definitely looks like it gives the deck some more fun aspect.

I've played a lot with this deck and I don't actually like the archivist in there. You can easily cut it (and, with it, probably one of your spells) and still do well. Just sub in whatever tech or filler card you're feeling.
