Ok folks, here's my latest spin on dragon priest. Won 5 straight games up to rank 5 so pretty happy with this list. *Update - Took out Zola for a 5/5 silence minion to match the top list on hsreplay. Also makes the list more budget friendly but I still think Zola's a good option.*
Obviously this list is inspired by Satellite's amazing list and is similar to some of the most effective dragon priest lists on hsreplay.net (credits to Firebat for the idea of putting the prince into Satellite's decklist), but I put in a few personal touches. The concerns I had were not having an early enough swing turn and running out of board clears. This led me to look into lists running Patches the Pirate and Prince Keleseth. This also led to reducing the number of 8 cost cards and increasing the number of 3 cost minions.
Options at 3-4 mana
Curious Glimmerroot - included for the bonus card; optional
Deathspeaker - can generate a free trade and has 4 health
Kabal Talonpriest - solid inclusion, both copies recommended
Southsea Captain - obvious double inclusion for pirate/prince synergy
Twilight Acolyte - included for stealing a minion's attack and having 4 health
Zola the Gorgon - can be included in hopes of getting a 3rd Duskbreaker or Spiteful Summoner but can be replaced by above cards
Gluttonous Ooze - not included but good anti-weapon tech
Mind Control Tech - not included but good tech vs wide boards
Tar Creeper - included for defense against aggro and having 5 health
Spellbreaker - can be included for an additional silence effect
The basic game plan remains the same as in other big spell priest decks:
1. Play minions for tempo. Build a board and keep putting pressure on the opponent.
2. Bring out your dragons to contest the midgame (especially Duskbreaker).
3. As early as possible, drop Spiteful Summoner for a free 8 or 10 cost minion and a devastating board swing.
4. Pile on with your Bonemare and/or Corridor Creeper.
5. Leverage your big spells further with Grand Archivist.
Mulligan Guide
Always mulligan for Northshire Cleric, Prince Keleseth.
Against aggro/midrange keep Duskbreaker and Corridor Creeper.
With a good hand or the coin, consider keeping Southsea Captain and other 3 mana minions.
Right now this is my favorite version of big spell priest, but who knows where the meta will settle? Give it a try and see what you think! Comment below what cards you like or don't like. And please upvote if you like it!

Is this one still possible with the new patches?
I reeeally like this deck. It is so much fun! :D
The class I have most difficult against is secret/tempo mage, got any tips? :)
Such a fun deck to play. No Glimmerroot but still does well:

This deck took me from 10-4 overnight. Much love, fun deck!
this is very nice deck, but my luck sucks i drew all my spells 3 times in 12 games, before i could play any cards and then when I finally got summoner it summoned c'thun:()
is archivist needed. only 1 I got in packs was gold, so I dusted it.
You can run without, but you won't get as much value from your spells, and no chance of a "free" turn 8 mind control.
FYI, the top priest deck on hsreplay.com at rank 1-5 matches this one, except it has 2 Twilight Acolyte and no Deathspeaker. Probably a coin flip between those two cards, they both seem decent.
Hey thanks for posting this deck!
I climbed through the ranks with the version using Faerie Dragon and Netherspite Historian, but I've found this version to be better at legend rank. I'm currently at 250 legend with this list and still climbing. It's really working great. Here are a few things I've noticed:
- Against control: tease out board clears in hopes that you can reload the board with more big boys
- Against agro: gotta have early tempo and DUSKBREAKER
- Save mind controls for their big minion win conditions
- Toughest matchup is Razakus Priest
Thanks again for sharing the list!
Fun to play, but almost always loses against aggro decks.
I've been playing a version of this since rank 10, at 7 now with full stars. I swapped in a dragonfire potion to deal with things like token druid etc and a geist by cutting a twilight drake . I started out even at 13-13 (caveat: I was drunk for a lot of those games) and since adding those I am 13-6. It can make things clunky if you play an archivist and it pulls dragonfire, but it has only screwed me up a couple times and helped me more than that so I'm keeping it for now.
It seems to do well against the default version that most people are playing without keleseth (I'm 8-4 against priest with a roughly even split between the satellite deck and standard razakus), but if they get ahead of you with dragons it can be hard.
Great deck, which is fun to play. 12-5 (71%) at Rank 8.
I ended up cutting 1x Mind Control and adding 1x Free From Amber as I was consistently getting 6/6 C'Thun's
Is Deathspeaker really worth that 3 mana slot over a second Curious Glimmerroot ? I get it's a better tempo play but I feel the value generated by the latter is just better.
Definitely up for debate. The free trade can help in the late game. What's also nice is Deathspeaker can survive Duskbreaker and doesn't require anyone to craft a 2nd epic. I think either can work. Lots of room at the 3 spot.
Lots of options are listed in the guide. Definitely don't need Zola but I think it works well here if you have it.
Your deck will be slower but you could try adding in a 2nd Curious Glimmerroot and/or Twilight Acolyte and perhaps a 1 cost card such as Fire Fly.
You can run the original list.
Let me know how you like it. Like I said, it's my favorite version so far.
