Here's Satellite's big spell priest he piloted to #3 and #2 legend the first week of the Kobold's meta. (Pictures from Satellite are at the end, along with video footage from several Hearthpwn content creators.)

Latest Updates: Removed the nerfed cards and went with what seems to be the best list right now in ranks 5 to legend. Faerie Dragons are great but it turns out Cabal Shadow Priests are better. Use on big minions you weaken with Twilight Acolyte.
Basic plan with this deck
1. Play minions for tempo. Buff your other minions or refill your hand. Keep putting pressure on the board. Use Faerie Dragon to contest 3 health minions.
2. Bring out your dragons to contest the midgame. Have Duskbreaker ready/activated and use it wisely! Use Twilight Acolyte to neuter big threats.
3. Pile on with big dragons Twilight Drake and Drakonid Operative.
4. As early as possible, drop Spiteful Summoner for a free 8 or 10 cost minion and a devastating board swing.
5. Leverage your big spells further with Grand Archivist or play them from hand.
List updated on 12/13 with Satellite's latest changes.
Basic mulligan strategy
Always mulligan for Northshire Cleric and Netherspite Historian.
Against aggro always keep Duskbreaker and possibly another dragon.
Against slow decks (priest mirror, control warlock) consider keeping Spiteful Summoner.
With a good hand or the coin, consider keeping Kabal Talonpriest and Tar Creeper.
Alternate 2/3 mana cards to try/substitute
Faerie Dragon
Golakka Crawler
Curious Glimmerroot
Deathspeaker
Gluttonous Ooze
Mind Control Tech
Zola the Gorgon (reuse your Duskbreaker or Spiteful Summoner!)
If you want to run Prince Keleseth, Southsea Captain and his buddy Patches the Pirate like Firebat, check out: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1004039-big-spell-prince-tempo-dragon-priest (good option if you don't have Netherspite Historian)
If you want to run more board clears like Doomsayer and Dragonfire Potion, check out: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/999316-big-spell-dragon-priest
Here's both versions of the big spell/Spiteful Summoner deck (Satellite non-pirate and Firebat pirate) sitting in the top 5 of all priest decks in the rank 1-5 meta for the week of 12/13/17-12/19/17:
Enjoy the steamroll and may the big spells be with you!
Xixo won Seat Story VIII, going 3-1 in the finals with a similar deck and clinching with big spell hunter! He also brought big spell murloc paladin!

Thanks to Kadakk, Furo, and KiwiiNBacon for the deck gameplay videos below!
Queued into this deck literally 5 times in a row. Screw this deck and all netdeckers in general.
Could Southsea Captain x2 and Patches fit in this deck?
You could make that work. This deck needs to be dragon-centric because Duskbreaker lets you remove the opponent's early board without spells. However, the Glimmerroots are expendable so you'd just have to find something to cut to make room for Patches the Pirate.
Firebat/Zalae had a video where they removed netherspite historian/ascendent for patches + keleseth. Hard to say which is better.
any room for psychic scream in this deck?
Maybe if you take out arcanist since he's awful with it anyway. But I'm not sure it will do very well since this deck wants to have board advantage.
I wouldn't use scream in this deck. You usually want to keep your board after turn 6.
That card is really important for early tempo, card advantage, and to generate more dragons as activators.
That said, you could try Shadow Ascendant in that slot and see if you lack for dragons.
I saw that DeckTech had Golakka Crawler in the deck. That's a decent idea. I like having the extra dragon in the deck though. I feel like I have the activators just when I need them.
I dropped both glimmers for two golakkas, kept faeir dragons over shadow ascendant so i have enoug hdragons, went from rank 18 to 8 un defeated. oh and i swapped grand archivist for a medvih
I'm 5-1 to rank 7 and I had to substitute 2 cards. It is a very strong list. Never thought I would think about crafting another Glimmerroot.
I've been playing something similar for a few days now, also with great results. You don't need the second Glimmerroot IMO. WickedGood and I had a nice chat about it on twitter today if you're interested.
What do you suggest for that spot? I put in the 2nd twilight drake but maybe a lower cost minion is worth considering, like the 1/1 deathrattle or the 2/2 that gives a coin. I'll check out the twitter conversation too.
Alternative 3 cost cards include Gluttonous Ooze and Mind Control Tech. Also I'm implementing two cards Satellite added to hit rank 2: Faerie Dragon and Spellbreaker.
Definitely helps with how predictable the meta is right now
Sorry for not responding faster--I don't come here as often as twitter--but yeah, I've been trying MCT and Faerie Dragon, I had Crawlers for a bit, and Ooze and Spellbreaker seem solid, too. Basically, everything Blue spartan already said. :P
