I've been trying this in a cycle/oil rogue and its cool but i'm 50/50. I've played it about 15-20 times now and i've seen all rogue cards at least once and i can't count the number of times i've seen VanCleef ;)
I would really like to know how the cards are discovered though. There are 61 neutrals, and 10 from rogue, and probably 90% of the time i've seen at least 1 rogue card among the 3
I had a "feeling" that something was up with the weighting. Played a game where I got 2 VanCleefs in the same match!
Yep, and that makes the Discover mechanic a lot better than most people initially thought. It was a great idea, unlike the gawdawful Joust mechanic that hampers so many TGT cards.
Been using this in my midrange priest and its been working great so far. It's gotten me Velen's Chosen and Dark Cultist multiple times and can also got me Thoughtsteal late game (which fetched me boom+shredder)
Honestly, in Midrange hunter I'm not liking it. Hunter already has great 3-drop plays in their deck.. so your odds of A. not having a 3-drop in your hand already, and B. discovering something actually good are pretty slim. Worse, the 1-1 doesn't trade well at all compared to a lot of other 2-drops. The biggest example I encountered tonight being Darnassus Aspirant. :( I think I'm switching out the Scarabs for the King's Elekk's again. :(
Just got Mukla from this guy in arena. Instantly started to stomp the game and cruised through.
This card is just amazing. What a lot of people are overlooking is that when this is played on turn 2 you are guaranteed to be on curve next turn. I play it in a midrange hunter and I can't think of a time I didn't get an extremely useful card from this.
The Arena value will be very high as well.
Well, there are minions that can be played on curve, and there are also minions that cannot be played on curve, and then there are also spells. I understand that a chance of getting a choice of only spells and/or non-curve minions is pretty slim, but still, technically you are not guaranteed to be on curve.
Forgive me if this has been addressed already, but are the three cards it pulls randomly selected from the entire pool of 3-drops, or am I correct in remembering someone say that each card is 50/50 to be either a class card or a neutral? Anyone know?
It can be a mix of class or neutral.
I like how everyone is saying how great all these discover cards are for shaman. This and the 1 mana murlok.
Just goes to show how bad blizzard is at balancing their card game when the biggest buff to a class is giving them a chance to have access to things they normally can't have (new hero power, reliable 3 drop)
if you look at the bottom left of the gold animation You can find Novice engineer's blood as she slowly becomes a even more worthless card
