The Paladin side quest has some niche uses in decks that just keep dropping taunts like crazy, but, as a class, Paladin lacks an archetype to truly take advantage of this mechanic. However, Freeze Mage has often been an archetype over the years and this is just what that deck needs--a powerful draw tool to dig for the next freeze or some combo piece to begin ending the game.
I am so glad that this is a warrior class card, because it would seriously tear peoples' faces off in a zoo demon hunter with Coordinated Strike and Expendable Performers (up to 24 face damage for 9 mana). Warrior just doesn't have the rush support to take advantage of this card in that way, so it likely isn't playable.
Play Librams Paladin with Wild Pyromancer or Dragon Hunter with Zixor + Scrapyard and you can just farm them all day.
Tried libram paladin so far lost 100%, mind sharing your version of deck thanks
Yep me too. Pure Libram Pally
Yeah, pure Paladin isn't ideal with librams. Here is the list I have been using to screw over DH aggro. Once discounted, your Libram of Wisdom can be used to trigger Wild Pyro or Kael'thas. Play a conservative game, prioritizing removal over face damage and letting the DH burn themselves out: ### Librams # Class: Paladin # Format: Standard # Year of the Phoenix # # 2x (1) Desperate Measures # 2x (2) Aldor Attendant # 2x (2) Hand of A'dal # 2x (2) Libram of Wisdom # 2x (2) Wild Pyromancer # 2x (3) Aldor Peacekeeper # 2x (3) Bronze Explorer # 2x (4) Bone Wraith # 2x (4) Consecration # 2x (4) Truesilver Champion # 2x (5) Aldor Truthseeker # 2x (5) Faceless Corruptor # 1x (6) Kael'thas Sunstrider # 2x (6) Libram of Justice # 1x (8) Lay on Hands # 2x (9) Libram of Hope # AAECAZ8FAtIErroDDtwDzwb2B48J+ZMD8qUDkK4DgrEDyrgD/bgD6rkD67kD7LkDysEDAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone
When they were shifting to the new duplicate protection rules, did they also increase the drop rates for legendaries (accidentally, perhaps)? I'm a F2P player and I got 4 legendaries in the 25 packs I bought with gold, which seems absurdly high.
Wait a week. Everybody starts at Bronze 10, so you are running into players who were at, or near, legend two days ago. I got down to platinum in around 3 hours, so I expect that the lower portion of the ladder will clear itself of higher-level players fairly quickly, leaving you to battle Jank and new players.
This is going to be obnoxious, but you clearly don't remember Crystal Core Rogue prior to the three nerfs they hit it with if you think that this will be the worst deck.
The OP was about heals, which this deck focuses on--the Galakrond/dragon package has some of the same control tools, but it focuses on tempo rather than healing. You are correct that consistency may be an issue with this deck and I have also created a deck with Galakrond and the dragon package. What do you think? My concern is that it will be more consistent, but too heavy in a fast meta where Demon Hunters are bursting us down.
Here is a deck that I have brewed for control priest--I think that the combination heals is pretty decent--Reliquary of Souls, Dragonmaw Sentinel, and anything I put Apotheosis on (if you put it on Chronobreaker and then trade in, you can heal for a stupid amount against a wide board) have lifesteal and Sandhoof Waterbearer, Penance, Renew and Khartut Defender provide direct healing (17 minimum). If you can complete the quest and start healing your Reliquary Prime for 3 while buffing it by +3/+3 each turn, that is a TON of healing that a lot of decks will have a seriously hard time dealing with (e.g. how does a Demon Hunter kill that without decimating their board and healing you back to full?).
If you care more about getting to legend than enjoying the game and aren't concerned with making everybody hate you, you can just run face hunter and slam through a ton of games by turn 6 or 7. Personally, I don't like this strategy and have only reached legend in a couple of metas (e.g. Jade Druid, Dragon Priest with Drakonid Operative, and Demonlock with Bloodreaver Gul'dan) because I don't feel like playing aggro for hours.
As a Paladin (almost only) player i belive most people heavily overestemate Lady Liadrin and Libram of Wisdom . I dont think Control Paladin can afford to run a +1/1 spell, since its extremly clunky because there are not many good 1 drops at the moment. and later its such a minor effect . I dont know if its worth to cripple your deck for this minimal lategame effect (several +1/1 spells from Liadrin).
Speaking of Liadrin this card kinda reminds me of Countess Ashmore , to be fair Ashmore can wiff and Liadrin can instantly be higher stated than 4/6, but both cards have the same problem. Against aggro a 7 mana do nothing is almost impossible to play, i belive if you are able to play the Libram of Hope and it saves you , you dont need more of them.
A card wich i personally would rate way higher than 2 is Underlight Angling Rod . Do you remember Rallying Blade ? Yes we had Shielded minibot back than but an undamaged Minibot almost never happened, still Rallying Blade displaced Truesilver Champion most of the time, simply because its a 3 mana 3/2 Weapon , that was good enough , and still today Paladin isnt really crowded with good 3 drops. In my opinion this weapon should be played in every Quest and Pure Paladin ( since you dont wanna have 4 Truesilvers in your deck).
Edit: Maiev Shadowsong is very good , but 100% not on the powerlevel of Zilleax!
While Maiev is better against one big dumb pile of stats(wich most likely happens later in the game) , Zilleax is/was waaay better on curve and against aggressive/tempo/midrange decks, plus as JAlexander often said :sometimes he can be a Reno Jackson (if you magnetise him so a big Mech). Additionally Zilleax is also better on an empty board.
I think that people are over-valuing Lady Liadrin, but Libram of Wisdom has some nuts synergy. In control, you can run it with Wild Pyromancer as a 0-mana cantrip that preserves his health (e.g. if they have a wide board, you just play pyro + libram x2 for 2 mana to deal 2 to the board and be left with a 5/2) or a free trigger to refill and heal using Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lay on Hands or Libram of Hope. It also can let you finish games with Mana Addict if the opponent drops a large taunt and you can cast LoW on a small minion, trade it in against their taunt, then cast LoW again; as long as your minion dies, you get the spells back and can buff your Mana Addict to ENORMOUS size while also chipping through their defenses.
If you want them to absolutely despise you, you can do an old-school Jade Druid. Basically the entire deck is made using cards from Gadgetzan and Knights. Also, the core only requires two epics (UI) and two legendaries (Aya and Malfurian), but can easily go without the legends. The rest of the cards are either rare or common. You can go without the legendaries and build the deck for something like 1.5k dust.

This could help enable a new Freeze Mage--drop this alongside Frost Nova or Blizzard to dig for the next freeze or a combo piece to end the game.

This would be so much better if it were a 1-mana 1/1 with the same effect, if only because you could trigger its corruption with the 2-mana libram

A third potential build is a very grindy version of the Resurrection Priest. I REALLY hope that this deck doesn't make a large place in the meta.

Kangor and the Gargoyle are not going to be in standard
