Nothing unless you need dust immediately.

But I'd say... Dinomancy will probably always be garbage. Biteweed is pretty bad. Glacial Mysteries might be the worst epic ever printed, so get rid of that. Deck of Wonders probably won't ever get past meme status (though it's fun, so I'd keep it personally). Deathaxe Punisher looks pretty bad, though maybe there's something I can't quite foresee there. Furnacefire Colossus can probably go.

Those are the really safe DEs I see as far as epics go.

I do agree and hopefully it will happen, let's just hope for it. I do grow tired of having to craft certain wild cards so card packs would be nice. Realistically, they will not be free though. Maybe 100 gold like a regular one

I'm be fine with that! I still think the reasoning for not offering wild packs for gold is kind of silly. I'd gladly spend a few thousand gold on GvG packs.

Maybe this is already planned (I kind of doubt it). But if they want to promote wild (and I don't think Blizzard really does), wouldn't handing out a few free GVG and TGT packs be a good start? It seems like a good financial decision, too. The majority of players are still going to stick to standard, but maybe you get your hooks in 5% of the playerbase and they end up buying a few packs or adventures, or even spending some of their dust on wild (which might mean later spending more cash on standard).

posted a message on Why moving ice block to the hall of fame is a terrible idea.

    2: Class identity
Mage as a class does not have access to healing, and use limited armor gain and freeze as defensive tools. Ice Block is the only really good way mage can protect themselves, and it fits perfectly with the class identity IMO. If you remove this card, you have to either indtroduce good armor or heal cards, or even more frustrating global freezes.

That used to be true, but Arcane Artificer is a really, really, really good defensive card. I think that's going to become quite evident if any slower Mage variants creep back into the meta.

Proof, I guess. This deck is actually really stressful to play since I know I should win almost every match if I'm playing correctly. Gotta go back to warrior next time lol.

I know the feeling! I've had one arena draft ever that I considered a legitimate 12 win deck, and once I got to about 10-1 my play just fell apart. I missed lethal once and lost another because I didn't play around meteor. The reward for 11 wins is still nice, but I got no enjoyment out of that run. Gimme a middling deck where I have to scratch and claw my way to 7-8 wins any day.

Nope. Opening packs, crafting, and building a collection piece by piece is a big reason why I play.

At ysera. Yes it's mostly a death card, especially in faster games. However it's a great cards in slower matches when you need an value creation card. It has provided a couple of wins when i would otherwise have lost

Wouldn't Netherspite Historian kind of give you the best of both worlds? It gives you early board presence and a shot at another Duskbreaker in fast games, and in slower games where you need value you can pick up a big ol' dragon from it (possibly even Ysera!).

posted a message on Targeting the new meta with Shaman.

This isn't a particularly novel concept for a deck; it's full of your standard early board control tools with a small Jade package and seeks to constantly threaten wide boards with a Bloodlust finisher. The major differences here are the inclusion of Unstable Evolution and Fungalmancer as well as a couple of Stonehill Defenders for value in slower matchups. I'm a big fan of cards like Unstable Evolution and Stonehill Defender because of their versatility; both can aid you in a fast matchup where you need early game tempo or stall, or in a slower game where you need value.

    Bloodlust Shaman
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (16) Ability (12) Weapon (2)
    Loading Collection

Looking at the current meta, it seems most important to me to have early game consistency to counter Paladin, Zoo, and Secret Mage, along with transform effects and late game value to counter control warlock (and big priest to a lesser extent). At higher ranks this is going to make up roughly 70% of the meta with control lock, secret mage, and Murloc Paladin comprising the bulk of that.

So many Shaman cards are just natural aggro/dude Paladin counters, and Devolve comes in very handy against the Murloc variant. In its current form I have a strong win rate against those decks. I've had considerably less success against Zoo, though. Their overstatted minions just destroy my board and the hero power makes it so that they don't run out of gas. Secret Mage has been somewhere in between; this seems like a matchup that should be more in my favor, though, so perhaps it's a piloting issue.

Onto the slower decks, I've had (relatively) great success against cube Warlock, which is why I'm posting this deck. With three transform effects and a silence, it's easy to prevent a flood of Voidlords. The ability to create wide boards constantly taxes the Warlock's resources and forces them to play cautiously with their health total, and even if they get a cube off, Devolve + Bloodlust can cut right through a DK resurrected taunt wall for lethal.

I don't have a huge sample size against Jade Druid so far, but it's been pretty ugly in the few matchups I've played. I've fared well against Spell Hunter and pretty even against Midrange Hunter. I haven't played enough against Mill Rogue to determine that one. The really bad matchups, though, are Spiteful and combo Priest. Duskbreaker is pretty much a guaranteed win against Shaman, and if the matchup goes on for too long, you're going to get massively outvalued by Spiteful Summoner, Drakonid Operative, and Netherspite Historian.

So that brings me to the point where I seek some input: how would you change this deck to perform better against Zoo and Secret Mage without weakening it against the other major meta decks? I'm content to just concede against Spiteful and Combo Priest, so let's not worry about that.

posted a message on How to counter the current secret mage?

This is purely anecdotal, but Eater of Secrets doesn't even seem like that effective of a counter given the trade-off of how useless it is in other matchups. Even if you have it on curve, if they cheat out an early secret with Kabal Lackey, what do you? Do you just hold it and take a bunch of damage to the face? No; more likely you're going to have to contest the board or play some removal and risk triggering them.

Eater was a great tool against freeze mage because when you played it you basically guaranteed yourself a win by destroying the Ice Block. In this matchup it's more or less just a tempo card, and even if you take out an Explosive Runes you're still staring down the barrel of a deck that has 35+ burn damage, incredibly strong tempo plays, and nigh infinite resources if you don't have weapon destruction.

posted a message on Why are you playing Tier 1 aggro Paladin on casual on a calm sunday night?
    Quote from AUzg >>

I understand your emotions on this, but I've gotta ask, why play casual at all? If you're trying to make some of your homebrew decks work, why not give them a trial by fire in ranked? (since you're gonna mostly face the same meta-decks in casual anyway, why not at least collect a few wins towards your monthly goal and/or golden hero portraits?)

Because I'd rather not lose ranks. If I'm at a stopping point like 15/10/5? Sure. But in the middle of a ladder climb it's likely to cost me more time than I'd like.
